- We go camping at De Hollandsche Molen resort in the Franschhoek valley. It is about an hour away from Cape Town, Western Cape (South Africa).
We give you a tour of the facilities and what the camp site and resort has to offer.
They have four swimming pools including a large Olympic swimming pool and the Wemmershoek river with crystal clear water for swimming as well.
On the resort is a Cafe stocking all the basic necessities, from chocolates, cool drinks and ice-creams to inflatable toys and braai grids.
The Cafe’ is also fitted with an ATM.
The resort also has a bar and big screen TV’s so you can watch all the major sporting events.
Their beautiful lush green camping grounds have 62 marked sites and boast with 2 modern ablution blocks, which has facilities for disabled people, a launderette with scullery and a unisex bathroom for families with young children. Each site has its own braai stand and access to a 220V Electrical point and share a water tap. They are unfortunately not pet friendly.
They are a family and holiday orientated resort, and therefore unfortunately do not allow long term or month-to month stays in the camping site.
They have 13 beautiful self-catering chalets on the property, each with 2 bedrooms which sleep a maximum of 5 guests (children included).
Every chalet has a fully equipped kitchen which includes a fridge, microwave, 2 plate stove with oven and the basic cooking utensils. On the porch, there is a built-in braai with outdoor furniture provided. Secure undercover parking is also available. Each chalet has a guest house DSTV package, this includes all your sport, movie channels and a channel for the kids.
There is a Lapa/Kitchenette available for group bookings, which includes an industrial gas stove and oven, 2 fridges and a spitbraai.
Note that the lapa can only be rented by overnight guests.

Many many memories way back, love the place.
What i like is they dont allow loud music people getting intoxicated and any unruly behaviour.

Lovely campsite... We enjoyed it in winter as well... Very tranquil then... And ablutions lovely in colder weather 👌 close proximity to town to visit the Saturday market🤗
We missed the Saturday market... we didn't even know about, I'm assuming its in Franschhoek? Sounds like something to explore.
Really awesome resort we had loads of fun and its not a far drive from the city.
