We explore the Montagu caravan park (voted the top rated campsite for us to review by our followers). Situated in the small town of Montagu in the Little Karoo on the famous Route 62 in the Western Cape, South Africa . We had such a lovely stay in the most festive campsite we've been to. We can recommend this campsite to anyone who enjoys a fun filled weekend camping with the kids in a well organized environment.
Montagu caravan park offers... Camping with electricity and water, self catering accommodation, heated swimming pools, an adult pool, small super tube, fishing (in a dam), and children play parks. There is good cellphone signal, no music is permitted and the park is pet friendly with prior arrangement.

Thanks for your honest review. I have been to a few places where the reception is not welcoming at all and if they are doing you a hell of a favour, forgetting we are customers. Your reviews cover all aspects which is great and at times it really comes down to attention to detail.

Fantastic review 👌🤗 spot on! ❤ beautiful park but yes the rules are a bit hectic, staff are not friendly and I'm not sure if still the case but the check in was strictly between 2 and 4pm...something like that...not accommodating to us with very little leave and working in the city. So sadly not a park I would just book on a whim

The rules are a bit hectic and yes, I now remember they did have a "latest time" for booking in, about 3 years ago with our first visit to the caravan park, Oria worked on the Friday and we had to race through to get there before the cut off time and we just, just made it. I'll double check the "latest check in" time and pin it to the top of the comments. Thanks so much for your input, we really appreciate it!

Hi Delaine, It's available to everyone. They do allow longer term camping and even have special rates from time to time
Great review but pages of rules are not for me. Yes to no music, yes to no walking around with alcohol but it's pet friendly & wild camping for me.

On our next trip we going to be camping at Balies Gat between Op-Die-Berg and Citrusdal. It's going to be our first time camping off grid and the campsite is also pet friendly so I'm sure you'll enjoy that one!
