    The first bride made a huge mistake. Once you find your dress, you stop looking. My advice for brides is if you have a year or more before your wedding have fun looking at bridal magazines and get a feel for what you like but don’t start shopping for your dress until 8 or 9 months before your wedding. It takes about 6 months to get it ordered & delivered then you might have to get it altered which adds another 2-4 weeks. If you go shopping too early and buy a dress you may come across a dress later that you like better. This happened to my daughter-in-law. She was so excited to get engaged that she immediately went shopping for her gown and it was a year before the wedding. She bought a gown right away then months later found several that she loved more but her mom was like "too bad". You bought your dress and that's what you're wearing. So just have fun being engaged first then wait before you shop for your gown so you don’t end up like these brides. And if you have a strict budget with no wiggle room DO NOT try on anything over your budget because 9 times out of 10 you're going to love the more expensive gown then you're going to be disappointed when you can't buy it and every other gown after that isn't going to compare and will be a dress you have to settle for, which isn't an ideal situation.

      I did my research from magazines. I found a dress I liked on the 1st salon/designer I visited. I did not buy it. I went to another 4 salons to check the other ones that I liked. I tried like 1-2 dresses per salon for a total of 10-11 dresses, so not that many. In the end, I went back on the 1st salon pretty confident that it was the dress I wanted.

    • @MLMLW
      @MLMLW Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@Wriwnas1 - That's definitely what you should do and not put a deposit down on the first dress you like because you could possibly like another one better at another salon. When I got married the first time I knew exactly what I wanted and found it at the first shop my mom & I went to. She told me to not settle on the very first dress I tried on but I knew it was the one but I obliged her wishes to go to another salon and keep looking. Nothing compared to the first dress and that's the one I ended up buying.

    The epitome of first world problems. She has a dress that’s beautiful and use the extra money to pay for rent, a car, your honeymoon, literally anything but another wedding dress. It’s just one day out of zillions for the rest of your life.

      I didn’t care for her original dress with the shiny fabric and the pick ups. But she liked it, spent money on it, so she should not have gone looking for a dress to beat it. I think there could always be another wedding gown a bride could love but, as Randy advises, once you find the guy and the dress you should stop looking!
      You are 100% right in pointing out what else of more importance she could do with that money and it’s good that she just stuck with her original dress.

  • @frabelle11
    @frabelle11 Před 3 měsíci +84

    What's hard about the circumstance of the second bride who went way over her budget is that you wake up the morning after your wedding and have a piece of white fabric you spent $8000+ on hanging in your closet that you can never use again. (I think a lot of people are optimistic about the option of reselling, but if you are successful in reselling your dress, it's usually at a price that is half what you paid, or even less! Not everyone who has your sense of style is your size and vice versa.)
    I wish they would do a follow-up with the big budget brides and see if it was really worth all that money to look beautiful for 6 hours.

    If you're not going to buy a dress, please do not waste people's time. It's not okay. It's very inconsiderate, it's rude, and it's not the energy you want to lay the foundation of your wedding on. Remember, ladies what goes around comes around? Think of it as how you treat people is how you lay the seeds for the path of your walk for life. So you're responsible for what blooms or looms. May your contrast show you what you do not want. May your angels make it a walk of grace❤ Blessings to all 🖖🦋🕊🕯

Some of us are really happy being who we are, real women, and making the most of that instead of trying to live up to some idealized fantasy that has nothing to do with reality.

    • @lilspanda8641
      @lilspanda8641 Před 3 měsíci +2

      Well I just feel like price point refers to a general area but saying price feels a bit more singular y'know. Like the price of a dress vs what's a good price point for a dress you are looking for. Cause price point is not very singular (even tho it says point), but like when I hear price it's like said and done. But price point it's like the point where I will say no if it's above this amount.
