This is pure cringe. Them trying to include certain words to sound "sciencey" makes this difficult to watch.
A "scientist" doesn't introduce themselves as a scientist. They usually say their area of expertise....biologist geologist etc. They are probably lab thechs . They are pathetic.
Not that a lab tech is pathetic just their behavior.
It's a script of the tv show. They told them to do that.
@@Anna-fm7hh obviously it's scripted, doesn't take brains to know that. It doesn't make it any less cringey.
@@NH-tb2sm It does when you know it's a convention. No need to be passive agressive.
Yep sounds predictable
Either this is all scripted, or these girls are full of themselves. If you are a serious scientist, you feel at ease with who you are and do not have to tell everybody all the time ad nauseam that you are a scientist! đđđđ
I agree, this looked scripted, acted out, nor believable to me.
Not necessarily scripted, but very, super prompted. IIRC I've heard other people on this show say that some people on the show get asked questions to prompt specific replies and get their sentences cut up/taken out of context in the edit.
It's highly produced, the producers pick these people with a certain plot in mind and then ask leading questions to get these responses. She knows she's only getting on the show because of the science angle, so she's forced to play it up. Same with a lot of the family drama I'm sure.
No mention of what field she is/ they are in???
Yeah, I met a dermatologist that manages to throw âbecause Im a dermatologistâ into every convo.
Microbiologist/virologist here ... we do NOT claim her. Super weird.
Literally so annoying - you like a style or you donât .
this is a script for the show. No one talks like that
@MsJubjubbird Yeah. I have no idea what they were thinking. It's ridiculous.
My daughter in law is an immunologist with a PhD. She doesn't talk or act like this female version of Sheldon Cooper at all.
she's picky. "I'm a scientist" Picky!!
They're not good scientists...They're just bad actorsđ
đđ đđ
And a bad dye job
I've worked in scientific laboratories for over 6 years and exactly none of us talk like this lmao. Based on interviews with brides who have been on the show, I'm sure this whole cringey "science" talk is pushed by production.
Lol đ đ€Ł
đđđđ
How can you tell if there's a scientist at a party?
She'll tell you. đ
đđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđ 3:55
The degree to which this is scripted makes it almost unwatchable. Come on, producers, we're here to look at pretty dresses and people being people - NOT a whole bunch of ridiculous puns and clichés. Give it a rest. Please.
Overdoing the " scientist" scenario. Bit pathetic
I'm thinking production encouraged them to talk up the science angle for a story line. It was tedious to watch!
Why would anyone care what she does for a living. She might be too impressed with herself.
They're all should marry themselves.
@@christinebrument6851I agree and it seems like they love themselves too much to need to marry anyone.
The producer must have been drunk when they asked the bride to use scientific verbiage. My eyes glazed over less than a minute into this video.
As soon as she said she was a scientist, I immediately knew they'd beat the puns to death.
She should just tattoo âIâm a scientistâ on her forehead
what kind of scientists???
I seriously almost had to shut this one off !!!!!
I'm about to
Me too.
Ridiculous!!!
"The lab rats on the couch".........only Lori đ€Łđ
I still don't understand needing anyone to tell you what does or does not look good or what YOU love to wear!!!! I never brought anyone with me to either wedding and didn't need anyone's approval.
Same. And it was a wonderful peaceful, very enjoyable moment.
"I found a dress I liked but it was a sample size and much, much too large". Cut to all of the dresses she tries on fitting her almost perfectly. Analyze that! LOL
It depends on the shop in my experience. I was smaller than a 0 when I was shopping for a wedding dress and nearly every shop I went to had dresses that ate me multiple times over (size 6-12 dresses). They also had rather limited inventories. Then I went to David's bridal and, while their smallest dresses still ate me a couple times over, they weren't as excessively huge on me. Lori's may have a much more extensive selection than the other shop(s) the bride went to.
I ended up going to a small shop and buying a dress that didn't need any alterations and only cost $109 and change.
When you try on wedding dresses, usually they'll pin the back because they only carry samples for people to try on
WELL, KIMBERLY IS THE SMARTEST ONE IN THE CLASS... JUST ASK HER...đđđđđ
IF THOSE ARE EXAMPLES OF SMART PEOPLE, IM GLAD IM AN IDIOT...đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€
i dont understand the ending of this video - were they trying to get as many clips as possible in here without even explaining what the last part was or how it ended?
Its filler footage to lengthen the video
Lori, scientists don't use magnifying glasses for analysis; they use MICROSCOPES! đ
Yeah. She sounds like what a non scientist would say. I bet she isn't even in a research field in reality and the producers wrote the script word for word.
As someone with a STEM career, yikes to the first bride. No scientist is one 100% of the time, not emotionless robots. I have my first fitting in about a month and I am 100% hoping to cry and be emotional AF
So true. And every "scientist" I know calls themselves what they are, like microbiologist, chemist, data analyst, or researcher. Not scientist. That's what a non scientist would say.
I knew as soon as I heard those alien noises after she said "scientist" that we were in for a pre-stem early aughts ride and WHEW we have come so far.
"An analytical assessment?" Lighten up! What a drag this group is.
Honestly I donât think science has anything to do with picking out a wedding gown. Get real and try a dress on and go by your heart and how you feel in it. Never ever put four girls in the science field together nothing but trouble!
imagine her approaching every wedding planning decision this way
theres no mambo jumbo science when choosing your wedding dress...its either, it looks good on you or it doesnt...AND, if it fits your budget..SSHESH đ
I agree and they act so arrogant. They think they are superior just because they are scientists. They should just pick a wedding dress and not bring in this science nonsense.
Drink everytime you hear scientist!
Oh hell no!!! I couldnât do that appointment!!! She couldnât get the one that she liked because it was way way way too big for her but doesnât the scientist in her understand that there is something called alterations!!!!!
scientists aren't actually like this. This is a shitty script for the show. If the dress is too big then it can't be altered/ Or it could be that the alterations were too expensive, especially if there is lots of beadwork.
Do you have any idea how expensive alterations can be? Often times the tailor must remake the dress from scratch just to adjust the size and would charge you as such, basically you d be paying for the same dress twiceđ€Šââïž and whats the point of paying for a dress that doesnt fit you when you can probably find a dress that fit you within the same budget in another store
@@elena3476I agree and sometimes you canât really alter a dress but have to remake it.
@@elena3476 maybe don't be rude.
@@MsJubjubbird tbf the original comment was rude too and lacked the common knowledge ive mentioned so im under no moral obligation to be nicer
So repetitive. Like I'm not going to forget the storyline in 3 minutes! Don't need a review, thank you.
It has been awhile since l laughed at one of these! Love Lori's sense of humor! The groom reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield! What a hoot that first play was! đ€âïžâ€ïžđŠđ
"it's a carefully controlled experiment.." blecchhhhh..
Being a scientist sounds exciting đ
I was trying to figure out what was so off about this whole interaction. *I thought it might have been Floâs wig* but it was all the âsmartâ scientists acting better than everyone else đ«Ł
I hope they were being sarcastic and this isn't really how they behave
She is so ridiculous - this must be scripted. Too overdone. All that blather about "data" and "statistics" - nobody does that.
The Atlanta series is pure script. Down to Monte wearing a cowboy outfit and going to the store to pick up a pregnancy test.
Forgot to add that they all deserve each other.
i don't understand why the sample she liked wouldn't work just because it was too big? a dress that's too big can be taken in, she's got plenty of time for alterations. it's not like she fell in love with a sample size that was too SMALL. and leaving the random clip of a third bride halfway through her appointment at the end was a very weird choice.
It's like the entourage who object to a dress because "the dress doesn't fit her perfectly right off the rack." Apparently there are people totally unfamiliar with the concept of fitting a dress.
Depends on how big it is as to whether it is possible. With all those buttons and stuff it alterations could be very expensive and push her budget.
Alterations can be hella expensive it might just not be worth it
OMG. What a difficult group of friends.
I agree women don't talk this way, no matter their chosen career. I've worked in medicine and we don't talk on patient rounds this way.
No mind of her own. Boring.
Love the beautiful dress on the scientist!
You should choose the gown that you love and forget them.
These ladies needs to understand science is just science & dress shopping is not science.
It depends on consumer behavior & not science.
And we're supposed to give life decisions to the scientist
They're trying so hard to sound sciency that they sound ludicrousđ
I loved this! Made me laugh & tragically relatable as a closet nerd...
I can totally understand researching the heck out of important purchases & then eventually making a decision based on what I find out.
But...my wedding dress? Knew the style I was after & happened to find & fall in love with an elegant Victorian style dress I saw in a magazine when I was about 14.
Kept the magazine page & many years later my beloved, very clever grandmother adapted a pattern & made my perfect dress - Ă©cru Italian lace top dress over ivory duchesse satin strapless under dress.
Thought both brides looked exquisite in their dress choices.
đđ
What I donât understand is she had a dress she liked but couldnât get in her size, why did they try so many other styles instead of looking for things more similar to the one she liked? I mean I know the final dress was lost in the sale section, fine, but Iâm sure they had other simple dresses in that cut. They act like the girls being âscientificâ was the problem when really they just werenât giving her dresses she liked
Lori said aaanalytical đđđđđ
consultant's expressions are Hilarious for this one XDDD
I wonder how much research had to be done to find someone to get engaged to đ€
This must be why I'm still single!!! I should do some researching đ
Good job, Lori!!
Oh, please!!
The editors really balling out on this one
There are so many types of sciences. What kind of scientist are they?
This was pure craziness. I feel like theyâd analyze which cereal eat based on the positioning of the sun. Or what sex position to do based on what quadrant their ovaries are in on a certain day at a specific time. Iâd hate to be among them đđđ
Why are they all repeat?
How I can see new episodes please?
I THINK it's no longer available
Old Video Again đź
â@@nicolewilliams403
Oh really. That's a shame
I think you have to pay to see them...
The amount of scientific words they used is giving me PTSD on my college days where I had to suffer doing statistical research
That looks like a fun couple đ
Bride 1 is really photogenic.
How did this âscientistâ get a fiancĂ©/boyfriend in the first place?
If she and her friends always talk like that, the guy needed to take that as a sign and run away.
Cuz what you do, isnât who you are 24/7. But these women donât seem to know that.
And a wedding dress isnât an experiment. Itâs a gut feeling of a bridal experience.
To quote my late mother, "Tat woman is nuts!"
I've never heard a scientist introduce themselves as just "a scientist" that seems so weird.
Isnt what determines whether you should buy a dress how it fits, emotional reaction and theme?đ
Lori just took those scientists to school like the bus driver.
I found the scientist bride to be a bit obnoxious but not because of the language
"I work as a scientist."
Perhaps the scientists should take a public speaking course.
I would bet $ not a one of them can tell us the difference between weave and knit or from where any of those fibers come.
Finally an entourage that makes sense.
Dress #1 - nice, very nice.
Dress #2 - ohâŠI donât likeâŠbut okay.
Dress #3 - I love that one
Statistically she was looking for a bargainâŠthatâs it!!!!
That dour faced âfriendâ isnât really giving friend vibes
Wonder if Bernadette and Amy did it this way đ€ (BBT)
Nope. Their script was better.
After all the scientific jargon, she did choose a gorgeous dress.
It's NOT your wedding girl it's hers. You can't say it's NOT the right chemistry for her when you're sitting on your BUTT. You can't feel what she's feeling.
I like that Flo said "Running around like a "lab rat" đđđđđ I love Flo by the way!!
Elizabeth Zott says yes to the dress.
It's a wedding dress, your not discovering a new element!! And crumb catcher ? Really? That is one I haven't heard before.
If we took shots every time someone mentions that they are scientists we'd all die of alcohol poisoning. đđđ They talk like they hope people are impressed .
I hope the first bride doesn't use the same formula to pick out all of clothes! If she does, she probably only has a handful of outfits! đ
People like her drive me crazy.
Her methods are not appropriate for choosing a wedding dress. I canât believe she hasnât figured that out already.
They must be soo much fun at parties. đ
This is the worst bride and the bridal entourage ever ! As a scientist this makes me cringe and nauseous
đŒ Big Panda Bear Hugs from a 70 yr old grandma in Texas, USA and by the way l'm subscribed and l hit Like. đŒ †đ đ
Please tell me this woman has no intentions of having children.
Sheâs smart and pretty, and socially awkward, and Iâm sure the producers are the ones pushing the âscientistâ stuff.
Good grief, she and her party are a ton of fun, I literally canât bear all that laughing. Talking about chemistry with the dress, chemistry? This girls are boring as fluff đ„±đ„±đ„±đŽđŽđŽ god prevent they will smile as their faces will most definitely crack beyond repair.
This is the trouble with some educated experts. Because these women are experts in science, they feel they are experts in fashion. It does not compute. It is a form of egomania. The bride is very insecure to leave her bridal gown selection to a panel unknowledgeable co-workers.
I doubt they are actual scientists. Real scientists don't name their career "scientist" but as a biologist, physicist, chemist, researcher, data analyst, etc. This is what a non scientist would say.
@@catladyfromky4142 You are right. This whole thing is scripted. They're just actors. But she did select a beautiful gown, if only for the show.
Is she a scientist or an alien from Mars? lol đ she's definitely not all that human.
Where is her family
We DO NOT talk like that about things that are just life experiences. This was totally scripted
Was she this analytical in picking her husband-to-be?!?!
omg. She's too much.
Remind me again who is wearing the gown?
đ€Ż Fiancee needs more time to think, I think. Or, bride- to- be needs to live life, instead of her job.
Well you hear this bride and youâll understand why it took her 36 years to get married.
Well statistically speaking, the marriage probably wouldnât last!
She's trusting that crew to be her "taste" gurus? Shall we examine their apparel? No? Ok.
Iâm sorry I canât finish this crap after 4:51
Aren't they doing a bit too much with the "scientist" thingđ it seems fake or I think they're just prentending to be great scientists...I tried to ignore but they keep on saying "data" "analytics" "research" scientists have much more lot to do than research or analyse dressesđđ
Yeah. But the bride said "randomness." As a real scientist, I would say "stochastic."
@@catladyfromky4142 đ yeah but you won't say it again and again to prove you're a scientisf
@@catladyfromky4142 I would say entropyđbut it's in chemistry and is about molecules and not dresses
Hmm. My fave sci. never talks about it.
It's a dress!!! Not a science experiment!!
