Installing 150-YEAR-OLD Clay Tiles - Off-grid Panama MUD HOME (Casa de Quincha)

Every year, traditional mud homes (Casas de Quincha) in Panama are torn down and replaced with concrete homes. We salvaged these tiles from a home that was torn down to give them new life on our off-grid natural mud home. Clay tiles allow circulation and absorb heat, so the house always stays cool and does not need AC. Mud homes are highly sustainable and excellent for health if done properly! We are excited to share our journey and the beauty of natural building and natural living.
