So many women think that ‘if I just lost weight,’ or ‘if I got rid of my cellulite’ my life would be so much better and I’d be so confident! But as you guys can see in this video, even VICTORIAS SECRET SUPERMODELS are insecure, which leads to a lot of them allegedly photoshopping what they look like, for their Instagram pictures. There are so many instances of famous and successful models making their bellies smaller, the waists narrower, their legs thinner and their jaws sharper FOR INSTAGRAM! These woman are already generally regarded world wide as being the 'epitome of beauty' - so why on earth do they feel the need to edit what they look like for Instagram? Our beauty standards are out of control!

I just ordered Honey Blonde!
i was SHOCKED every time when you kept saying that “THIS IS THE ORIGINAL” 😭😭 i was like, no wayyyyyy they’re already perfectly beautiful like that! the editing was SO UNNECESSARY like you said. this is insane.
It goes to show even the most “perfectly beautiful” people have their own personal insecurities and struggles.
Yeah. Most people don’t even realize how beautiful they are sadly.

Same here!!
It really makes me so sad to see pictures like that!! When even that idealized women feel the need to look smaller or more defined, you realize how much society has messed up our expectation of "beauty". Thank you so much for helping young women seeing things like that and bringing awareness to such topics!
Why do you idealize models? They cashed in on the good looks given to them by nature. Not through any effort of their own. And because of beauty they will marry rich men and live comfortable lives on hypergamy . Nothing to idealize. Beauty can be appreciated certainly but not held up as the standard of goodness or decency .
@@zamar2158 because women are treated better if they look better so they idolize them in the hopes of becoming them
@@erintexel9739 So why is it us men are suppose to make you feel insecure, when you just admitted it's really other women. Tyvm I feel better now
@@ozziecoops Men also place unnessecary pressure on women to look certain ways, most of them spend way too much time watching porn and think real women should look the same way as the "stars" in those videos do.
@@RedRoseSeptember22 not many good looking porn stars and the porn today is still 1970s BS, go look on live sex cams they are looking at the camera, fake moaning fake everything all fake as FARK. I found out my daughter was controlled by her man on what she wore. i soon told her the consequences she would face and him if this continued. I also told her no man woman controls her or owns her not even her mum or dad do.
This video is the scariest of all because the tweaks are so tiny and you would never ever think there was anything wrong with the original!! It must be so mentally taxing on these women to look in the mirror without all these little minor tweaks… talk about body image distortion 😓
I mean, how sharpe does one’s chin need to be? They trying to cut glass or something?
Omg the unedited ones already are unachievable. but as a super slim person with this kind of body type I definitely understand the desire to be even more thinner. I love how you show women with "goals" bodies are still pressured to look better. Anytime I say I feel insecure people just laugh, the struggle is real.
It absolutely is achievable. Anyone can reach their before edited fit model” body…..it just takes a lot of work. The after edited pictures where their waist looks too small to have space for their organs, not so much!
@@cozy.ladybug not for everyone since height plays a role also genes
@@cozy.ladybug If it was achievable for every one then it would defeat the purpose. The point is for them to sell aspirational beauty that most people can't reach so they buy the product in the hope of looking like this rather unattainable look. The idea that it is accessible to every one is just a very well executed marketing ploy
thinner? press x to doubt
@@cozy.ladybug I'd love to know how I can grow 6 inches taller and shrink my rib cage without surgery lol no, looking like a supermodel is not "achievable" for the average person
The beauty standard is so messed up, these models are paid to look beautiful yet they still feel the need to edit their bodies and it's even more sad when you realize that they have access to plastic surgery and STILL edit their photos because according to the beauty standard it's not considered beautiful enough 😔
And all the best hair and makeup teams, personal trainers, stylists, beauty treatments, handmade/ perfectly-tailored-to-them clothing etc. Just shows young women in today's image-obsessed world can never be 'good enough', because the beauty standards aren't just very high (like they have been historically for women) but actually impossible
I deleted instagram a few years ago so I rarely ever experience this dreadful feeling of comparing yourself, but I'm still glad I found your channel. It reminds me what everyone mean by saying beauty standards are unattainable, you explain it much more deeply, so thank you so much 💙
I did the same exact thing !! I never went on Instagram again but It’s nice to see that I wasn’t the only one ! Maybe watching this , both of us will get back on Instagram soon possibly. 😊

So sad the way these gorgeous women don’t feel confident or happy with their natural beauty
Its really sad isnt it :(
I know :(
I think they can get what they want. And that not overdone!
They *are* the standard that's advertised to everyone and even they're not happy with themselves.
y’all obviously don’t either if u have to watch this to feel confident
Miranda Kerr is SO shocking - she is so skinny already imagine thinking that that isn't enough. Clearly doesn't care about making her fans feel insecure!
There’s a few more pics that’s she allegedly edited her waist smaller in too 😭 our society needs to remember what women actually look like irl!
It's hard to care about how your fans feel when you yourself feel insecure.
why do u follow ppl that make u insecure ? tf that’s y’all issue not hers if she wants to edit tf out her shit let her
If someone made me feel insecure, I'd probably not follow them. And then I'd ask myself why I let someone else have so much power over my confidence and how I see myself..
I think the problem definitely stems from within the profession itself. It’s extremely competitive . These women are constantly surrounded by other gorgeous women and made to work with snide and insecure stylists as well as lecherous and insensitive photographers ( both male and female). Not a life to be envied by any means.
Thank you Stephanie! I’m 57, I’ve been on meds and gained weight after losing my middle son. I already feel like a beached whale. I enjoy this type of video. Thank you! I still feel bad about myself, yet this shows me that models don’t even feel, “flawless “. You are so Precious! 🤗🤗
Sending you my love ❤️❤️
@@PootPootPearl Thank you so much! 🤗🤗
@@Gina01117You are really beautiful. I hope you are feeling better and more confident.
When I talk to people about what they think as beautiful... it's almost always the little imperfections Photoshop removes. Freckles, hip dips, rounder faces, cute small lips. We have GOT to letting social media tell us what is beautiful!!! You are beautiful just by being unique and different. Don't let them turn us into something we're not. We deserve better. ❤️
Hwy Stefanie, a few days ago I used your videos to convince a guy on the internet, that women aren't normally what they look like on Instagram etc. and, after a lot of very tiring back and forth, he actually seems to have learned that media/social media are not comparable to real life and that it's normal that women don't look like that in real life. Funnily enough, it also seems to have given him some confidence, which made me double so happy. Thank you for the work you're doing here. It makes the lives of so many people better. You are a wonderful human being!
Im so glad that they are people like you talking about these stuff and trying to fix them, huge appreciation❤
This is so messed up. Thank you for bringing attention to this. Our society has some serious issues. 🤦🏽♀️
The music in the beginning though...like some 80s/90s crime show 😂
Aw I know right! The beauty standards are out of control!!
THIS IS RIDICULOUS! they're all already perfect without the editing! And this is exactly why I've begun posting videos/pics to my instagram/CZcams where I hide nothing, I shall embrace my wiggling jiggling cellulite and tummy pooch!! I decided a while back I wanted nothing to do with contributing to the HORROR that is unrealistic beauty standards. We are all beautiful!!
also also alsooooo part 2 please! I love your videos and I know they've helped me and continue to help so many!!
Thank you Stephanie, you have helped me a lot! When I look in the mirror, I can accept my little flaws, and remember that I am me, and I don’t need to compare myself to anyone else!!💕💗💕💗
Yes girl! Thats the attitude! xx
You don’t know how much making these videos makes insecure women and girls feel. It’s refreshing to sometimes get a snap back to reality and be told that not everything is as it seems and it is OK to be perfectly imperfect!! ❤️
Photo editing has been around for as long as photography has been around. In the 1880s there were literally books about manually retouching photos to make the skin smoother and waist smaller. Photographs were always intended as an ‘idealised’ representation of reality.
I think we need to shift our expectations. Instead of expecting photos to be unedited, just assume that every photo you see on social media is manipulated in some way or another. This will save you hours of unwarranted self-bashing.
I do think social media is different in that that there are increasingly people who spend more time online than interacting with real life people. And as the algorithms become better at sucking people in to these apps, the near ubiquity of "idealized" bodies online, whether achieved by editing or not, really creates a deeper sense of dysmorphia and hatred towards people's natural bodies. You almost forget what's "normal" for people to look like. I think just seeing more unedited bodies would help a lot of people's (especially young people's) self esteem a lot
You’re seriously the best! Thank you for helping all of us feel more confident and beautiful in our own skin! Part 2 would be awesome! Thank you again, hope you’re getting settled back in Australia well, and the family is happy and thriving!
Miranda must know what her own body looks like. Come on sis
you'd think so wouldnt you! very strange
Part 2 please!!! Thank you for all the work and efford by doing this types of videos! Bless uu. Also i think that all this models do this maybe for all the pressure they suffer by beliving that they have to be de Reference of beauty, maybe 🤷♀️
Ok if you insist! (I have all the pics saved to my laptop already and want to make a part 2 myself) 😝❤️
@@stephanielange Thank u 💕! I cant wait to see it ❤🔥
Dear Stephanie , you are the reason I deleted my Instagram because you made me realise how damaging this is for my self esteem - although I don't follow any of those typical profiles and am over 40 years of age. I should be beyond that-turned out I'm not, and I needed to put an end to it. Thank you for making me feel better and continuing to do so. Greetings from Luxembourg!
This comment deserves a like by Stephanie. 😢
Really loved the message of your video Stephanie. Please stop with this stupid conception that some girls linked to a label should be considered as “most beautiful in the world”, it’s just a fake construction that was marketed by the label itself of course. Most beautiful girls are everywhere and of every type, and beauty cannot be confined in numbers or standards.
Part 2 for sure! The smaller armpits are crazy...
And smaller necks and chests! Like… why???
I can't get over the fact, that they feel the urge to alter their pics after: expensive beauty treatments, diets, training coaches, hairdressers, professional Make-Up, the most beautiful gowns, professional photographers with high-end equipment and pro lighting... And even being super pretty to begin with..
I used to see their pictures and wonder “how does their body look like that??” It’s really helpful to see the editing side by side and realize it’s all just a lie.
I know you’re flooded with comments like these and I hope each and every one of them warms your heart. Thank you so much for making these videos. I hope that you still enjoy making them and still make other kinds of content that you enjoy. These videos are so refreshing and EACH celebrity that you talk about just blows my mind. Learning that women as beautiful as you or any of them could have insecurities that they’re pressured to hide is so shocking but teaches us a lot about standards of womanhood. Every time you post one of these, it breaks down a little bit of insecurity in me, and I rebuild with a little bit of positivity. Most of all I don’t want to take my appearance so seriously after a video like this. Thank you for doing this work for us!!
As a mother of 5, I really appreciate your videos! I am constantly in trouble for posting unedited photos with my 20 year old daughter in them. Which I will continue to do because she is naturally beautiful, flaws and all. The unrealistic ideal beauty image of today is unattainable and so unhealthy! I am all for working hard to improve the things that can be changed, but I also believe in accepting the things you cannot…..Love yourself and be proud of your individual beauty!💕 Side note, your hair looks amazing!
Where were videos like then when I was a teenager?!?! Would have made a world of a difference in my self esteem. Thanks showing the truth once again
Stephanie you’re seriously the best! I love all of your videos. I also love that you’re so respectful of the celebrities you’re talking about and never tear anyone down. You normalize and humanize. I appreciate your kindness and the love your spreading out here. You’re changing lives!! :) thank you.
hey Stephanie, i rlly struggle with insecurity of my face like u see so many models and celebs and stuff with snatched jaws, cheekbones specifically, but overall just a sharp face. ik the truth but would love to see this addressed!
Hi Stephanie, hope you’re doing ok, thank you for these videos, I’m sure your move to Australia was hectic but it’s awesome to see you still taking the time to make these videos to help so many women.
Thank you for being back to regular uploading! We have missed you so much, please keep this videos coming. There hasn't been even one video that I've missed since I came across your channel. You really are a breath of fresh air, thank you for empowering us women. Also, how gorgeous does your hair look!!

These videos are so needed!!! Its definitely a great reminder to see women who are the " epitome of beauty" and " perfection" actually have flaws and insecurities too. however its also incredibly sad at the same time.
I can really feel your passion in this one Steph, I love it. Thanks as always for keeping it real and doing such great work
these women dont fit in my perception of beauty at all, and I never felt any type of way about them or anyone else. Wish most people genuinely felt like this
Their look was developed for the straight male gaze.
@@labornurse Do you think so? I think it is more similar to women's ideal than men's. I'd say the BBL aesthetic was developed for the male gaze and the supermodel look is more aimed at embodying women's idea of ultimate female beauty.
Part two please! Thank you for the awareness you bring to all of us 🤗🙏🌸
Part II would rock! You’re helping the self-esteem of so many girls/women. Thank you!
God Stephanie, I super needed this. I will come back to watch these videos sometimes just to ground myself whenever I start losing sight of the fact that all of this is manufactured. Thank you so much.
Actually 24 minutes isn't long enough! I love long videos lol. I could listen to you talk for hours Steph! It's truly sad that even the most beautiful women in the world get photoshopped to Hell.
These videos honestly have helped me so much! I am extremely hard on myself for very normal things and this is a great reminder that no one is perfect!
I'm so angry right now, I don't even know what to comment. All I know is, my daughter is six next week and I really don't want her anywhere near this social media crap ever. I grew up without this shit and as young girls we had our issues with our bodies, and I still have sometimes though it gets better. But what is happening in "social" media is taking it to a new level. And it's so disgusting. 🤢
Thanks for the vid, keep up the good work, Stephanie!
can you please do Daisy Keech for ‘influencers in real life’ series?
I'll look her up! I live under a rock and have no idea who she is lol x
@@stephanielange omg hiii it’s okay, she’s a youtuber and tiktoker and i think her body is insane. i got really curious on whether it’s just workouts or not and if it’s possible to actually look like her 😭
It is so rediculous how even these women, who we are supposed to find beautiful are apparantly still not beautiful enough in the eyes of the media. I think what one can learn from that, is that we women can never ever be beautiful enough in this sick society, so one can just say f*ck you beauty standards, I'll love myself and have my own beauty standard :)
Another great video Steph, I remember the whole Victoria's secret fashion show thing being so popular when I was a teenager and really badly comparing myself to them, I have a completely different body type, and I now realise it's okay!! We're not all built the same!
Also, can I add that this hair colour just looks stunning on you 🤩
I'm so thin xs but i always felt insecure bc these models had flawless cellulite. I thought i was the only one with my thighs/hips not toned like other women. No matter how much skinnier I got, worked out at gym, it just never got toned. I ate healthy no junk. I always wondered how all these ig yt look flawless in bathing suits with their butt and legs so toned. Thanks to Stephanie I learnt how Fake it all is. Everyone has cellulite. No matter how skinny or tiny you are we all have cellulite. It's normal. It finally made me feel so liberated. Now I just embrace it. Instead of trying to overwork in the gym. It's just not realistic to be flawless/ fake normal that we grow up believing that when we get older we're supposed to look flawless and toned. I didn't know how fake ig yt was until people started revealing the lighting and photoshop
Stephanie, you're so important and necessary to this world! Thank u for this!
That Video was so much work editing, am so impressed! And what a clever move to pick Victoria Secret Models for this to make the point. Thank you Stephanie, very important work with much deeper meaning and effect than it appears on first sight.

Agree, if the women that already makes us feel insecure and not good enough are themselves not food enough then, what is it? Living proof that today beauty standards have gone too far and are not longer unrealistic but straightforward unreal

Instagram is crazy. Going through the "explore" page I see so many wasp waists, big rounded hips, booties obviously photoshopped. I look at that and I know for myself I could never compete with that. I'm married with a husband who loves my body, but imagining if I was single in the dating scene and men are looking at that and then looking at me. I'd feel so insecure. No wonder modern love is often said to be dead. I'm 30 and so glad this wasn't as big a thing when I was a teenager, I don't think I'd have survived my eating disorder.

I've lost weight multiple times, but life happens and just steals all my motivation away. I already feel like I am on a different planet than these women. And I'm so afraid that this is all men will ever want, that they'll only ever see me as disgusting and not even one will ever give me a chance.
