Volvo sure can make some gorgeous wagons.
Volvo makes awesome designs
I love this wagon! I think it would be the ideal winter vehicle!
Beautiful design Volvo has definitely come a long way from those old boxy styles.
It is such a sexy station wagon. I'm a big fan . I hope all station wagons come back to America
Volvo really does make some of the best cars on the market, period.
Volvo has upped their game a lot the last few years
Amazing what money can do. xD
The most gorgeous car EVER
God this Swedish wagon looks gorgeous!!....And with an interior to match. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I have the money.
The video doesn't make it justice, it's sooo much better in the metal. In our neck of the woods we get wagons for most models that are on sale and I'm glad that we do.
My great aunt bought one of these and it is really good in snow.
I'm hopefully getting one in the next year or so. Love Volvo wagons and have owned many one of my current ones is a sonic blue M66 V70R. And absolutely love it
This is my dream daily driver!
all road wagons are a much better choice than "soft" suv's for most folks imho. Better handling, faster, more fuel efficient and often roomier.
Bluetronder1 i
And better off-road abilities.
The E-Class wagon is in the American market, but doesn't have the capability as the V90 Cross Country. So, Roman is spot on in saying that the Volvo is a class of its own.
I think he was talking about the All-Terrain version.
That tow hook is a cool idea.
Question about these press events, has a manufacture ever set up a course or obstacle that their car can not get through or over? Like the one where this wagon pulls a boat out of the water?
It sure is pretty and it can dance along the dirt roads. For me, that's about all I need. I could do Goldmine Hill in my 4Runner but 98% of the time, I'm on pavement or gravel, so why not be comfortable? Thanks for a great even handed and thoughtful review, Roman.
Definitely one of the most gorgeous platforms on the road today.
Now I like how that hitch is mounted That's cool
They have one of these, in that lovely bronze color from the video, down at my local stealership, and that thing is bea-u-ti-ful!!
I still love my 2003 XC70 cross-country, by far my all time fav design. This is nice too.
Sounds great!
it's so cool! I love it!
Are you guys going to do the Ike Gauntlet with these wagons?
this Volvo
Audi Allroad
if you can get it the 3.6 outback
That was awesome!
This car is beautiful. Amazing.
Are rear facing jump seats available?
Super turbo? Twin-charged is the correct terminology for a supercharged and turbocharged engine.
Great review. It is a really nice car all around. My only gripe is the center armrest in new Volvos is very hard. I found this bothersome in both the XC90 and the S90.
That hidden hitch is AMAZING! I wish all SUVs had it. Does anyone know of the XC90 has it? Because that's the one I want.
Awesome
Even though it's not the most hardcore crossover, I still expect a test at the Gold Mine hill!
The brown one towing the boat is gorgeous! Just look at that paint shine under the sunlight, and the interior in that one with the leather dash and door panels!!!!!!! Yours didn't have it and the leather didn't seem as soft, so I suppose it's the mid Momentum trim.
Very nice car!
My daughter had a 2010 and it was frequently in need of repair for fuel system & wheel alignment(s). Said it always felt "squirrelly" on patches of gravel like at street corners. Disappointing because I thought she would be safe in such a Tank!
it's not a wagon it's a aerodynamically lowered suv. there now people will buy them.
Do R/C! what? its based on the v90 not thr xc90
Wouldn't it compete also with the Sportwagen or the Alltrack?
Love the review, but like others have said a tad bit expensive. Granted that it's in a class of its own, it would be nice to have a higher ground clearance of 7.0 inches and have a cheaper price tag. Then it should sell more. I do miss the wagons. Volvo has some really nice room inside with the old ones that I've driven.
Yeah, this is beautiful and Volvo should always be applauded for sticking to building wagons. The interior especially is very nicely finished if you are able to sit in one. I do prefer the look of the regular V90 though rather than the Cross Country version, the lines flow better, but can understand why the latter may be more useful.
It's not so much that it's a challenge to design one, lots of manufacturers design them of course, but most of them don't bother selling them in North America. It's EXTREEEEMELY frustrating to know that they sell a wagon version in another market but won't import it to North America. With the exception of Subaru, only the Europeans sell wagons in North America, although even with them, they severely restrict which models they sell. There is only about a half dozen wagons for sale in North America.
Give that new Volvo designer a cookie!
do you know if it is possible to put in a suspension lift? Would be great to have an additional 2" of clearance
anything is possible
The last Volvo I said I'd own was my '06 v70 because that was the last year they offered manual. I've been in a beemer ever since.
@4:23 I LOL at your attempt to swipe back and forth 4 times while saying how good the interface is... LOL!!!
Love your reviews!!
junkmale53 the V70R could be had with a manual through model year 2007.
junkmale53 cool story bro
the v90 comes in manual too but only the base model
volvo makes the best car design today at any price range... not 1 ugly line or piece that looks off place
David S I would have to say that Mazda got the most beautiful designs on their whole line up
This wagon is sexy!! Volvo is good at that! But it needs 17 or 18 inches wheel and better off road tire with thicker sidewall. And $5k lower starting price will be nice.
Anson Chow
Maybe Volvo should cut the current MSRP sticker in half. Would you buy one then? Why worry about making a profit?
65 k for that? i wonder what the base models syaty ay
Anson Chow he told you. The base model starts at 55k. 65k is with all of the available options.
any V6 option?
@4:20 brags about how good the infotainment system is, backfires on him 2 times in a matter of seconds...
Gotta love Roman haha
Makes much more sense than an SUV. SUV owners: "I need a family vehicle" me: "your SUV only seats 5 so where's the advantge?"
Wagon: + more cargo room than a sedan and better rear headroom too, maintains similar handling to sedans.
SUVs: + has offroad capability only if it is a Toyota 4 Runner, Jeep Wrangler, or Land Rover (with A/T tires)
- if you get a 3rd row access sucks, most of them are no better offroad than a van, bad fuel economy, bad handling
The Volvo V90 XC is in europe available to the police as a special police edition. A nice police cruiser.
Roger Meldal now that i would love to see. Im seeing my cousins this summer ,so hopefully i see one
Wait the US isn't getting the Mercedes E wagon?? I thought someone said it's coming here
That is a nice looking wagon I can't believe the hitch is doing that.
Im sitting here waiting for the V90 Polestar in that beautiful blue they have.
Shawn Prickett standard V90's will be special order only in the USA unfortunately. That includes the R Design model. Doubt they will even bring a Polestar model here.
Rediscover Film 😞😭
I have already seen it at my local Volvo dealership, it is absolutely beautiful. Overall, it seems to be really small inside out. How is the head room?
+Jan Bartos the headroom is fine says Roman
when you get new XC 60?
Volvo V90 XC is a great car. but in my opinion the Subaru outback is the better one. you get more cargo space, better ground clearances, the best allwheel system one the market for a cheaper price.
5 years of garantie inkusive.
my choice, Subaru outback!
I want one of these so bad
Wonder how good it is in the snow.
This is the most under rated car.
Wish it had the rear facing jump seats. Guess they didn't want it to take sales from the XC90
Sexy car... And man! The desert is green!
My dream daily driver ♥️
The new Regal TourX will also be competition.
Volvo V90 Cross Country yes i want one.
I don’t know why keeps saying it has not as much space as the xc90! That is ridiculous, i just got one of these V90 cross country and it has tons of cargo space, tons of leg room front AND back!
What kind of boat, brand ? Is that ?
Thank you
www.zodiac-nautic.com/en/shop/categories/boats/n-zo-en/
Love mine😎🇳🇴
this would be perfect for winters in upstate New york
dont you get the A6 Allroad in the states? 'cause that is the true competitor for this car
Just the A4 Allroad.
What was the brand of boat?
www.zodiac-nautic.com/en/shop/categories/boats/n-zo-en/
I'm trying to get my mom to get one of these. Give me a year and I might get one.
Subaru Outback wagon would definitely be a competitor.
Esp if we are talking AWD wagons. Regarding luxury, refinement, or trim levels--right, different cars. So the comparison between a stripped down awd wagon vs a sleek, polished, fully loaded awd wagon sounds like a pretty similar comparison between a stripped down SUV (Grand Cherokee/4Runner) vs a sleek, polished, fully loaded SUV (Range Rover).
It sounds like the noise isolation is a bit lacking, on dirt roads at least.
Evgeniy Shishkin Arizona wash board roads are extremely loud. any vehicle is going to be loud when you out a microphone in it
That's one sweet sexy hell of a beast! I'm in love! Always wanted a Cross Country, I'm glad they keep making them.
I live in Sweden and you see a Volvo in the exact same colour in every neighborhood.
its every day car that does everything
I like unique cars that won't be seen 5 times per day.
Volvo is the only car manufacturer from outta the USA I would buy a car from
american cars are shit. take a look at japanese cars like mazda and lexus and so on
Ours is coming late May
The music was sooooo loud and distracting. Had to next the video was too much. LOWER THE DAMN BACKGROUND MUSIC
way to go volvo. knocked it out of the park again....and i drive a tundra. that car is hot. not as mean as the ctsv but more domesticated.
I have seen this car in my hometown, in Sweden. Of course I would have seen this because I live in Sweden but goddamn it's so sexy!
If I could afford one of these I'd buy one today.
@Roman Mica, you've got to do a "buy or lease" comparison with the Subaru Outback 3.6R. Okay, the Volvo has more HP, air suspension and it is (no kidding) more luxurious. But it does cost so much darn more and I'm not sure it can beat the cited "competitor" (I know they don't belong to the same class before someone b*tches about it) by far in let's say... hauling, cargo space, and specially up a snowy hill. Or can it? :-) It surely (hell) can't surpass those frugal monthly lease payments (i.e. cost / benefit). :D
Throw in a couple of other elevated wagons (e.g. Golf, Audi) and we got quite an interesting mashup! And maybe have @Andre Smirnov (or your boy) drive a proper offroad vehicle as the control point (and/or just for fun). :P
You could easily cruise a Porche 911 down the roads in that video. It isn't off-road, just off-pavement.
maybe they will let you take one off-road one day.....
how could you not say that this vehicle competes with the Subaru Outback? it's almost the exact same vehicle, a tall all wheel drive wagon.
Greg Whisenhunt two different price classes i think
Nope not me, no Crossover for me. Gets me car sick. Need something lower. That's one sexy sexy sexy wagon, Volvo! The interior looks simple and it's beautiful. Wagons and sedans all the way!
There's always a game breaker to 'perfect' cars: here it's definitely the display control system. They are unreliable and slow and can lock you from using your car's controls like climate control.
nice wagon but Diesel would be a better power plant
They can go off road but would not be advisable to take for rock crawling.
Audi allroad , and they do have it in A6 version. and I've seen few in Tdi version, not the newest though, do to emission law suit ;( anyway 55k for a vagon shit son , full size suv will be a better choice for that price , it will have 2 times the clearance for off-road use , 2 times the space for all ur junk .....
if you buy one, no one will know how to work on it and five years from now if you did find someone willing to work on it they might not be able to the parts and in ten years you will be the only person in the country with one of these if it somehow survives
O'clock source shop corner passenger move pose.
8.3" of ground clearance - same as a Chevy Colorado.
Do you guys have any info on the 2018 or 19 mid engine corvette?.
They cancelled the mid-engine ZR1 model. There's current video of the new front engine ZR1 testing at the Nurburgring now. Streetspeed717 did a video about the one he's already ordered if you're interested for current info :)
That's too bad. atleast they have another nice corvette coming out.
I so want this Wagon! However, the video editing is a bit schizophrenic on this one guys! Not the best effort. Will there be a better, proper review in the future?
+Colorado Biking Sure, but before we can produce another V90 review we'll need your support as these reviews are very expensive to produce. Here's the link to our Patreon page: www.patreon.com/tflcar Thanks for your support!
Ask Volvo for a S60 Polestar
Most SUVs and Crossovers are really wagons. A Rose by any other name! Lets just call them what they are, Station Wagons.
Swedish design with a chi-com power plant.
european police dept buys and uses this car a lot
It’s allegedly the best police car on earth.
Hmmmm I'm not a Volvo fanboy! No avatar here.
