  • Volvo’s trifecta of new flagship 90 Series models include an SUV, a sedan and 2 wagon variants, representing the best the brand has to offer. After spending a week with this V90 Cross Country, I’ve now driven all 3 and in fact it’s the wagon that best epitomizes Volvo’s ethos, making it the standout model in the range.

    This thing is awesome but it's way out of my price range. I'm looking forward to when Volvo redesigns the S60 and V60.

    I couldn't stop laughing at the thought of Steve "accidentally" plinking Maddie with the headrest. i guess technology does indeed have its drawbacks.

    Style comes at a price. 20 cf cargo befind rear seats is pretty small for such a large car. My VW sportwagen has 30cf and it is a smaller car.

    5:57 -- Is she okay after that? Yikes. Is the headrest drop also available on the XC90? (Most who have an XC90 would have the 3rd row seat folded down if not in use).

    2015 Volvo (Gen.3: 2007-2016)) XC70 Cross Country T5 with 5 speed manual transmission. ...that is the Volvo of this modern age that I would like to own. ....not so happy about the direction they are going now with this futuristic luxury cars. I like the utilitarian and tractorish Volvo of the past. ...simple and rugged. I miss those days.

    • @stevehammes

    A lot of your exterior shots, like @2:47 looks like stock footage from the PR department. How did you get the shot without any pedestrians on a, what normally looks like a busy street? Did you film it crazy early in the morning?

      @stevehammes  Před 7 lety +2

      V90 cross country version hands down, i test drove all the 4 models in the 90 family, Xc90, S90, V90, V90 cross country, the best capabilities and handling were on the V90 cross country. IF you have 3 kids, go for the XC90. but the XC90 has the worst handling of them.

  • @fleuger99

    It is a beautiful looking vehicle, both inside and out. I own a 2015.5 XC70 T6 and I'll never switch out my smooth, refined and powerful inline 6 cylinder turbo for this 4 cylinder engine. It is unrefined and personally, not acceptable for a vehicle in this price range. Also, talking pricing, I have every option in my XC70 and it came it just over $50K. This new model has jumped by about $12K and has less interior space, the whole point of a wagon to start with. I like it but will never buy one. Sorry Volvo, you've lost a long time Volvo customer.

    Not sure why reviewers tend to rave about the infotainment screen, the vents, the instrument panel, and the silly roller for drive modes, but they all look amateurish in the Volvo 90 series. Among the worst things -- and no reviewer seems to say this -- is that roller thing that is used to change the drive modes: I've used it extensively on driving perhaps a dozen 90 vehicles in the last several months, and it works horribly. The design is dreadful for that roller; one has to look down at it then up at the screen on the center console; the roller works very poorly, being hard to scroll to the mode you want, and then it frequently slips before you can click on the mode you want (or the screen goes back to the previous screen, timing out after only a few seconds, if you aren't quick enough). I wouldn't want to buy this car for this horrible feature alone! It should be on the steering wheel and you should be able to easily change drive modes looking only at the center of the instrument panel behind the steering wheel, not over at the big screen to the right. Very amateurish design, and bad for safety because it takes the driver's eyes far off the road for way too long to change modes.
