  • Volvo V90 Cross Country is the fourth generation of the XC Cross Country series Volvo estate. This model's history started around 20 years ago, when Volvo launched an off-road type station wagon V70 XC. Volvo XC70 Cross Country was an alternative to SUVs and front wheel drive cars. This raised estate with AWD and off-road abilities soon gained popularity, especially as rugged SUVs gradually shifted towards more city-oriented crossovers. Cross Country Volvos offer practicality, off road capabilities, and comfort. Is Volvo V90 Cross Country a good continuation of this tradition?

    You can drive down the steep hill without the hill decent control [brake intervention] simply by selecting 'comfort' mode and locking the transmission into first gear. Its a very clever system with the minimum of window dressing and superfluous buttons and dials. There is also a custom mode which you can configure to a style of control that suits your particular needs, for instance if you drive a track like that steep one shown in the video regularly.

  • @Neatspejamasis
    @Neatspejamasis Před 7 lety

    For my taste SUV's have too harsh suspension (I know some recent models have sporty and comfy suspensions) sitting positions are too high, fuel consumption not the best. But almost everyone likes them. This Cross Country seems like good alternative to A6 Allroad. But I still prefer old Alfa Romeo Q4 Crosswagon.

      I can find dealers that offer the base D4 AWD aut for around 380 000 SEK which is around 37 200 Euro. Perhaps we have a lower trim option in our market?

  • @gurueddy
    @gurueddy Před 7 lety

    Nice review. Unfortunately the lack of a full size spare would limit the off road range, especially out in the Australian bush. Those space savers restrict the speed and distance you can travel, and I think their smaller size would reduce ground clearance?

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives Před 7 lety +1

      I don't know what's Volvo's policy on spares in Australia. In Europe we're usually a call away from roadside assistance.

    • @gurueddy
      @gurueddy Před 7 lety +1

      Yeah, okay in town/cities here for roadside assist. I checked the Aussie owners manual, they supply a temporary spare only. So anyone venturing out camping/hiking/fishing more than 80km from town should think about a proper spare. I was lucky to have room under the wagon floor of my 2005 XC70 to fit one.

      TheArrogantOne I'm not attacking the Volvo in any way, in fact I do like it a lot however the price is way too steep for a family car, especially for a young family. As for the second part of your comment, I'm not gonna argue, you seem very knowledgeable about my country and you obviously put a lot of thought into that comment ...

    • @aramiris

      just one question lover boy. DO you say the same about the price of the Audi A6 AllRoad Quatro ? or the prices of Mercedes E klasse or BMW 5 series? The last 2 are not the same type of car, they are sedans, but they are in the same segment as the S90 from which the V90 and V90 cross country are derived.
