Some context about the Scottish FA and the redevelopment and St Mirren staying at Love Street: there was a proposal that got some traction to redevelop the old Hillman/Chrysler/Peugot-Talbot car plant at Linwood, ideally located very close to the M8 motorway and a simple two exits from the airport. The idea was to build a brand new national stadium, with an enromous car park by the way, and in its shadow a smaller 20k seated stadium which it was implied could be used by a local team ie. it could only be St Mirren.
The Hampden redevelopment turned out pretty shit very quickly as it happens, and there are many arguments against retaining Hampden as the national stadium, but nothing can trump the notion of tradition. Yes many other countries have moved from their traitional grounds, but this is Scotland. That patch of land around Hampden Bowling Club, Cathkin Park and Hampden Park is the home of football, and the SFA can't bring themselves to leave. I was at school when they proposed this new stadium and I wanted it, but now I wouldn't Funny that.

Such a pity that the images on way too many occasions within the content don't match the voice over. Its therefore very confusing with additional lack of impact and coherence - BUT thank you for bringing back such amazing memories and bringing tears to my eyes.
My father took me to many games at Love Street particularly season 76/77 when Saints won the Scottish First Division title under the managership of Sir Alex Ferguson. I also went to the speedway at the ground in the mid 70's - wow it was noisy!
As I sit here at at the pool in the Hollywood Hills overlooking LA you have reminded me of my childhood in Paisley and those special saturday afternoons I shared with my father who incidentally also worked at Glasgow Airport and before that Abbotsinch Airport - so that also touched a nerve! My father passed away from cancer in August 2014.

I'd like to see you do some videos of some old stadiums that are still in use, its interesting how they stand the test of time and get modernized over time.

Nice one. I'm not a Buddie (St.Mirren) fan but I am married into a family of them so I found this video particularly interesting.
I went to quite a few games there but only after it became all seated. I still didn't know it was originally Fullerton Park as 'Love Street' was one of the iconic names and grounds of all us Scottish football fans.
You did a nice job 👏 👍 there, Shawfield would be another good old Scottish ground to research, Home of Clyde, when Clyde were a reasonable big and successful side in Scotland
