having totaled my last toyota with a dashcam installed i can say the airbags are more than powerful enough to blow the wire out of the way. still though this is good to know and ill be wiring my current car around the airbag
Awesome video! You did it so professional. I appreciate you recording this for other people like me. It helped me understand a lot what is behind all that plastic peaces by simply watching your video. I installed 70Mai dual cam in 2 shots. Was not sure where to put the cable for the rear camera so ended up watching your video. I decided to cut corners and tossed it in between the body and black plastic mounts for airbags, secured it with some tape and zip ties. If I will ever want or need to drop the headliner, I will rerout then cable the same way you have it. Thanks!

Thanks for showing the danger of wiring over the curtain airbags. So many other install videos just wire over the curtain airbags which is probably not safe.

But can you do one going the other way, routing the cable between front & rear cams - the lower path. i.e. down C-pillar, going inside the floor sills and so on.

this is exactly the video I needed even though my car is not RAV4 or even a Toyota. Thank you so much. Btw on some videos they say disconnect the battery but how or what situation will set off the airbags? Only a collision can set them off right? Not by poking around the wires etc. I intend to install a 3 channel dashcam. I want to run 3 cables from the front cam to the trunk where I have a 12v ciggie outlet.

the rear dashcam cable has a 90degree bend on the connector, and is abit thick.
was this an issue for you to snake it through that rubber tube?

How did you remove the trim clips without breaking the plastic?
I pulled as seen in the video. If your referring to the headliner, check out the other videos. You can buy replacement clips on Amazon. I've broken many. It happens.
hello, why didn't you get the 360 bird view camera??
360 bird view camera is part of Toyota's Advanced Technology Package. This is also a completely different application. This is video recording but from the rear of the car. In case someone wants to do a quick hit and run or catch some other important activity.
