In England, if you fail to appear in court ONCE you are not getting bail again. No-one ends up with 7 warrants, cos they keep you in.
In the U.S., you are in a country with a much more massive area of land, with a much more massive number of citizens. If you wanted to lock up everyone with one warrant for...infinity? You would need huge jails and a massive prison system. You can only convince so many people to work in corrections as it is mostly a thankless job.

I suspect the issue in the US is to do with the structure of the justice system and the courts, e.g 5 warrants in different counties
It must be exhausting to go through life like this. They think they are being persecuted but why is it that everyone else doesn’t have these problems. In 32 years of driving i can count on my one hand the amount of times I’ve been pulled over and not once ended up in handcuffs. I’ve never been arrested for failing to ID. I’ve never had to repeatedly say “with all due respect” because my actions show the respect due. It’s cheaper and less hassle to hold a valid licence and have vehicles registered.
Exactly! I uncomplicate my life by renewing my driver's license, registering my vehicle and getting the new tags on time, keeping my insurance payments up to date and carrying all those documents on my person or in my car. In other words, all the things a normal law abiding citizen should do. These SovCits are trying to free themselves (I guess?) from government control so they refuse to do any of those normal things... and it always leads to trouble for them.
I pay my taxes and I feel free! Its not that hard!

I’m a correctional officer for the State of Texas. These guys are a regular laugh riot once incarcerated. The crap that they come up with is just gold! Funny thing though, they never deny being themselves when using commissary or phone privileges…
They know their name for mail call, visits and medical treatment. Claiming they are the "living person" when talking to Case Managers, Counselors and Unit Managers or when they are getting a shot. 😂

It's disgusting that sovereign citizens want to enjoy all the perks of being an american citizen ( freedom, government assistance, quality of life, etc.) but they think the laws don't apply to them. It's the "I want to eat my cake and keep it too" mentality.
There should be something on the books that if you are this constantly in legal trouble, you should lose all subsidies. You do not want to be a citizen, then you do not get citizen comforts.
They expect all the privileges and reject the responsibilities of citizenship.
I think very few of these people actually believe their own nonsense, they're just irresponsible, lazy and never quite grew up...they don't bother to get car insurance, registration, drivers license, etc. then start into their sovereign citizen BS hoping the cop or judge won't want to deal with it and let them go.
Half of all taxpayers filing pay no federal income tax and little or no state taxes.. Most of these collect federal and state aid from those who do pay.

@@JodyOwen-we6oo First I think you should check your facts. Half of all taxpayers don't get out of paying their taxes and most of them aren't on aid from the government. People who don't work are the majority of those who get government aid. Having responsibilities* is totally different from not following the law.
The whole “who did I harm” thing almost seems to make sense but the whole point behind many of the laws (that seem like no one is harmed when they are broken) is to PREVENT harm.

Giving a False Name to an officer when you are legally required to identify yourself is usually just a citation, but last time I heard the fine was not cheap at all.

The phrase, "with all due respect" is a well known legal term of art meaning, "with no respect whatsoever".
The key is that "with all due respect" equals "with as much respect as is due," aka as much as you deserve. Since they don't actually think anyone in law enforcement deserves *any* respect, it means none whatsoever.
So this guy thinks he is above being held accountable by the law but not above using government assistance. Somehow that doesn't surprise me

Yes, many sovcits drone on about contracts and such, but if you want to get benefits, you have to agree to follow the rules. If you want to drive a vehicle on our roads, you need to pay for license, registration and insurance, and pay the fines if you're caught without them at the time you're operating a vehicle. It's really not that hard to understand.
