    Know what i use CRU for? Changing my LG 60 hz 3440 x 1440 40-60hz Freesync panel to a 75 Hz 35-75 hz freesync range panel.
    Which means Star Citizen sits happily in Freesync range. As an example of a very demanding title in development that GREATLY benefits from this type of thing. Too bad I lost the silicon lottery on my Vega 64 liquid. It doesn't undervolt/OC worth a hoot.
    Meh. Can't win em all. But being butter smooth even if the fps drops? Priceless.

    • @YaviOld
      @YaviOld Před 5 lety +1

      Wait a sec something misses :D
      Freesynch drops down to 48hz from 75 - unless it has LFC support
      Which makes me wonder, wasn't there any benefit above 60fps ?
      Why would you need to increase that limit to mae a big difference, while it already should do up till 60hz o . o
      Else thank you for confirming Freesync scales with the max set OC by CRU 💜

      AFallingTree hot temp, loud fan, not much overclock and undervolting margin compared to polaris/vega, all the so called ‘overclocked to 2080 level’ is unstable, unusable in real day use, unstable drivers, no fluid motion, the list goes on and on.

    • @samgakgimbap9683
      @samgakgimbap9683 Před 5 lety

      The real customer usages and review are out now, which says the average undervolt and overclocking ability of navi card is only around 5%, compared to 10~20% in vega/polaris.
      Basically meaning ‘undervolt to cripple higher tier’ doesnt work anymore for navi/amd.
      Even amd admitted in hot and loud blower fan, and custom aib wont come until late august or early september. And they prolly will be more expensive.

    just did the XT Bios flash to my 5700 reference style blower card, getting 2060mhz OC with 1200mv, 2000mhz with 1150mv, and vram clocked to 1860mhz. All stable. The memory will go all the way to 1900mhz, but it lost performance in benchmarks faster than 1860mhz. I find that with a aggressive fan curve package temps stay under 65, but edge temp rises into the high 80s. when the clocks are slower, the package temp only drops about 5 degrees but the edge temps come back to within a few degrees of the package.

      Yes which is why I went with the 5700 and not the XT version as people with the XT blower version cards have issues with it being very loud and producing a lot of heat. The 5700 doesn't make as much noise and heat and I got the 5700 to play maxed 1080p 144hz anyways so I really don't need the extra performance of the XT

    I am cheering for AMD to compete with both Intel and Nvidia, and I bought a Radeon 7 because it made sense for me. That said, I think it’s very dirty for AMD to artificially limit anything. On the flip side it’s no more dirty than Intel’s non-K CPU SKUs. But back to the point, a product should cost more because the silicon is actually freaking better. Not because the cheap one is “locked” or “limited”.

    Personally I think it's the architecture itself, RDNA architecture is rather new and the drivers right now for it are very immature, maybe after new games get updated and designed according to the instruction sets of RDNA, the performance gains will be something substantial, AMD should really focus on driver maturation, cause right now the only thing the driver does is recognise the GPU to Windows 10...

      A want an ATX board because I want to be able to install two GPU and a Elgato 4K60 capture card. This mean search for a board that had 3 x16 physical slots, but then I had make sure how the wired.
      I thought I had found a winner in a b450 board, but it turned out the second x16 slot was actually only x4 when two cards were install, then ruled out 2 x470 boards for having the same issue.

      It's the registry how many files/ drivers there is so he said he had 7 so he might have had 7 different drivers loaded into the computer for different GPU's before or just updates. If you've ever uninstalled a program and some of it is still showing in your programs/apps Windows 10 and won't uninstall. It's because not all of it was uninstalled from the registry. That's why he was using the other program to clean the registry out. You have to be careful messing with the registry in the computer as he said you could brick your card. Expensive paper weight lol

    Excuse me for disturbing the good vibe here, but am i the only one who sees the locked performance accompanied by bad thermal decipation components and bad price point as an absolute scamish move by AMD? When they meet more than enough margins to give us an actual complete product performing at it's max potential? Why is everybody praising this practise of "unlocking your hardware" when it should be there free by amd themselves? Why giving us 2 variants of the same card when the later can be achieved by hw limiting the first? Its not like it's a different chip, nor the perf gap is huuuge between them
    The way i see it we are stuck with an absolute greedy competitor milking a dead cow 3 years now because of no competition in the high end and a vfm company who is just making a comeback but is suffering from a pricing identity crysis
