The only real reason Wesker did all this was because Chris laughed at his science project.
I mean think about it, in RE1 Wesker accomplished everything he needed to do. He got the combat data he needed from the BOWs and using STARS as the guinea pigs to do so in order to get rid of them, he betrayed umbrella, and injected a new experimental virus that would give him powers. When he meets Chris for the first time in months, he acts as if they have been mortal enemies for decades. The only logical reason I can think of is that Wesker is still butthurt at the fact Chris laughed at him and his project.
I thought he got mad because they killed his Tyrant and survived thus not getting data he wanted
He laughed at his project, basically sabotaged his data with the Tyrant, making it all for nothing and a waste. He was on the verge of greatness, but got greatly set back because of that. I'd be pissed if I had to start all over because of that. Chris' nature probably just always irritated him anyway.

Wesker's burning hatred for Chris seems to indicate that Chris's scenario in the original Resident Evil is the canon one. He doesn't have nearly as much personal animosity towards Jill or Barry.
It’s because Chris and his he others got away with it and now Wesker needs to do extra work to get rid of them
That reveal of Wesker's eyes when Chris knocks off the shades was huge when I was a kid. It was so unexpected. I played the original Dreamcast version which didn't have the scene where Wesker attacks Claire, so there was really no hints or foreshadowing that he had these crazy new skills and powers.
When that part happened, I thought Wesker sold his sold to the Devil and that the Devil granted him his bad ass superpowers to kick everyone’s ass with. At any rate, I like that moment too

He was always a monster, it's just now he couldn't no longer masquerade as a human.
It was also a nice evolution of his character, he started as a counterpart of Burke from Cameron's Aliens movie. A corrupt corporate henchman, who sacrifices his fellow humans to monsters for a better percentage of profits. A virus he infected himself with, was a gift from his friend and partner in crime, William Birkin. It was obviously invented as a retcon to explain his revival, as in the RE novel he was brutally killed by chimera, and we could actually meet zombie Wesker in RE1 modes. First draft of the sequel also had an idea of returning to the ruins of Spencer mansion and meeting a mutation of Wesker. So yes, he was very much "dead" at first.

Yes, but only if team A (done RE2 + RE4 remakes) does it.
Capcom team B did the remake of RE3 and it was a pretty mixed result.
Considering the post credits scene of Re4 remake, yeah they should do one of CV before tackling 5. The Ashfords need another reimagining that's just as good or even surpasses the original and I'd hate for remake Clair's story to be something offscreen in the remake timeline.
They also have to get the team who did RE2 and RE4 remake, I'd be even okay if 0 got one too.

You gotta hand it to Richard Waugh - he gave the performance of a lifetime in this game. He helped turn what would have been an easily forgettable two-bit villain into one of the greatest villains in videogame history.
Ah. Now I understand why the steroids happened. Chris knew Wesker would find him again one day.
Is it just me or did Wesker seem to be growing gradually more powerful throughout the series? Just compare the strength and speed he exhibits here with the strength and speed he exhibited in RE5. In this, he's already superhumanly strong and fast, but in 5 he moved far faster than the human eye could detect and could rip through a human torso with a single punch. While his blows here are still devastating, RE5 Weaker would have punched Chris and Claire's heads clean off, or at least snapped their necks.
The question is: Did his boost in power come from deliberate augmentation, or was it due to the progenitor virus mutating in his body over time? If the latter, what do you think he would have eventually turned into had he survived the events in Africa?
I think he was still learning about his abilities in code veronica. You've gotta remember this was what 6 months after resident evil 1? He had been in hiding up until this point so this was presumably the first time he had put his new powers to test
Resident evil 5 is 10 years later. By this point he has already gone through the events of umbrella chronicles and has probably reached his full potential.
That's my take on it anyway. It could just be capcom decided to make him ultra powerful in 5 just to make him more intimidating as a boss.

After all maybe that's how he also learned those "kung fu" fighting techniques. I mean Wesker was already a professional fighter but he obviously from re1 to re5 you can tell he got way better, merciless and brutal in his fighting style
Wesker is giving himself new powers and new viruses as time goes on that’s why he says about the T Veronica virus “I want it” and alexia says “you are not worthy of its power” that’s also why his mix of viruses become unstable in 5 and he needs injections to keep them all stable
@@buttlickerking2208 I thought he wanted the T-Veronica virus for research in developing Uroboros or to benefit the organization he was working for a at the time.
That was his cover and he did want it to boost Uroboros but mainly he wanted to make himself more powerful he wanted to be a god amongst an Uroboros world. I can’t remember exactly where but I remember reading files that weskers injections keep all his viruses in check and from mutating and in re 6 Jake says his immune system could fight off multiple viruses like his father

I hope they remake Veronica since after RE4RE since it is essentially a prequel to re5 and isn’t available on most platforms. The game bring back Claire and introduces Chris and Wesker’s rivalry after RE1. Also, the scenes with Wesker fighting are badass.

I always loved Wesker-- well, ever since DC Douglas became his voice actor! Whoever played him in RE 1 just wasn't in the same league, imo.
Besides Douglas chewing the scenery as Wesker, and his awesome Matrix-like super powers-- both of which turned a generic, rather forgettable villain from RE 1 into the start of the icon he would become --Wesker's portrayal in Code : Veronica made him my instant favorite RE character just by one action he took in the game!
In the part where Wesker confronts Alexia and finds that even with his prototype virus given powers he was no match for her, he did some next level quick thinking and all out dickery when he saw Chris!
Him saying, "Chris! Since you're one of my best men, I'll let you handle this!" And then hauling ass out of there had me rolling! My only regret is that Chris survived LOL

Actually the VA for Wesker in Code Veronica, 0, and 4 is Richard Waugh, who is THE original Wesker that made Wesker iconic. DC Douglas is good but Waugh captures Weskers sinister evil perfectly.

I never knew that there were several voice actors all doing that same style of speech patterns and oddly British-esque accent that I know and love as good ol' professional buy super cool villain,, Albert Wesker!
Again thank you for the info and now I went back and started listening to the scenes from each of the games and I noticed that it's slightly different but still awesome! I love Wesker just because of his character/personality--
but then add in the fact that his "death' in RE:1 was the catalyst to unlock his special virus that not only healed him from getting gutted by the Tyrant; it also gave him Yu,Law like superpowers... then add in his slightly contemptuous style of speech and that just sealed the deal for me that Wesker is my favorite RE character!
PS-- remember in Code Veronica when Lester tried to take Alexia using a superpowers but she was too tough so he sees Chris cuddling behind the pillar and he says hey Chris since you're one of my best man I'll leave her to you and then runs away leaving Chris high and dry I thought that was hilarious 😃 ! That's another thing that made me just love Wesker an awesomely written villain!

"I DESPISE Chris!". Even when good voice acting was still missing during the time these games were made, Richard Waugh did his best to sell the character. You could really feel the hate in his voice when he said that line.
When Wesker showed up in this game, WITH FREAKING SUPERPOWERS, he was immediately elevated to my favourite villain in all of gaming.

@@silverink1824 yeah, except this is a videogame character and not a real person with the complex feelings of a real human. When Capcom decided to make it canon that Wesker had sex and and conceived a child with a woman, they obviously did it with the idea that Wesker is straight.
Capcom may have made this sun Cannon but it doesn't erase the gay because there are people that come out in their 40s and 50s and said that they've been gay their entire lives they've just been pressing themselves because there is a high risk of death amongst the queer community during the 70s and '80s especially considering his age he was born in 1960 and while growing up during that time period he would see that being gay is frowned upon movies video games they all present a queer-coated character at some point or another what is taken away if Wesker is gay as a matter of fact I think that adds to his complexity and his intelligence
