What sucks is that now that I know it's there I will never be able to unsee it and experience the Illusion for the first time again
Actually, you can. Just focus solely on the basketball and avoid letting your eyes wander. Not exactly an easy thing to do as your brain is going to want to look for the gorilla as it is expecting it, however it is achievable.
therefore, you are smarter because you know your brain can be fooled
and THATS what is important in teaching :)
in a way,
its like touching the fire for the first time
Same though. No matter how hard i try to focus on the basketball, i can always see the gorilla
There wasn’t a clown. We all believed him when he mentioned the clown
There was a clown
Idk what ur talking about the clown was always there
I came here specifically looking for the video, knew the premise, expected the background shit, and I literally got duped, EVERY time
Dang how did I not see the clown man 😂😂😂😂
That was funny - well done.
I counted the passes and saw the gorilla but did not notice the clown lol
yep.. they got me with the clown killing the dude.. didn't even notice the dude went missing. For some strange reason the gorilla was very obvious.
ohhh! /facepalm.. there was no clown! that was mean.
I noticed the gorilla but couldn't tell it was a gorilla. Just noticed something in a furry suit coming in bc it almost made me mess up my counting.
nice new spin, lol
There was no clown. there were three players in white when the test ended. If there was a clown who killed 1 of them there would have been 2.
there might’ve been no clown that killed someone but you killed the joke.
Thank you so much for that Captain Obvious
Perhaps you have good awareness but you severely lack satirical awareness.
No shit sherlock
You must be a Theoretical Mathematician.
Your answer is technically correct, but completely useless, and entirely misses the point.
I liked it. Good.
I lost count, I was concentrating on the girl in the black
Cute
which one?
I counted 13 passes, in part because i was distracted by the gorilla. I did like the clown bit mind, its mildly entertaining
i noticed the gorilla every time, i laughed at the clown tho
Bruh
I admit I counted 18 passes (was confused for a brief moment) and did notice the gorilla but didn't question it because I was focused on the basketball passes. The clown part is just funny lol
I have adhd and wasnt focusing and just saw a gorilla and was like ??
So funny
i dont see the clown in the video the first one that was played
That's because it isn't there. It's a joke
How old are you, by the way?
@@Amethyst_Friend why?
@@Amethyst_Friend Thank you! I got the count right and noticed the gorilla but felt really bad because I didn't see a clown take anybody out. But I just took their word for it at the end.
I saw these comments and then went back to the beginning.. so this was more than just a 'selective attention' demonstration. It also demonstrates the problems with witness testimony when asked leading questions.. or high pressure interrogations that push a narrative.
Aui_2000 brought me here
Hihi. U are fast. But i went to another video before this. So i am faster
That tall guy in the black shirt and pants needs too be in the nba
Height doesn’t mean everything
@@koltennguyen9604 I MEAN
@@koltennguyen9604 true but bro probably wouldnt even have to jump he just gotta reach his arm up into the hoop
@@ARandomChristianGuy you can still be trash with it
@@fnafbestboaryt still, being agile on the court is almost all that matters
What's the music at the end of this?
"Le Vrai (Instrumental)" by Brakhage!
There wasn't a clown
Did the clown scare anyone else
Haha ya no clown was present..he would have stuck out like a sore thumb..and the guy making the loud noises as if he was getting stabbed...I will admit that I didn't notice the gorilla cuz I was too focused on counting the passes.
There was no clown
I'm here from our boy CLR Bruce Rivers
Note to self: Always watch for the clown.
I don't think there's a clown
I have adhd so i did actually notice the gorilla
I saw the gorilla but the clown was not there must added at the end
yumm
i see it
thee moment that gorilla came in i just lost count, like it was so confusing
ikr maybe it’s just my adhd but i couldn’t count i got 11-
hmmmmmmmmm
Yeah I saw the gorilla
I got 12
Impostor amogus
Matpat ruined this for me
Yss
Uh….witchcraft
Wtf. I counted 15 and saw the gorilla the first time and then rewatched the video and the clown never appeared. I get that they’re probably trying to show what you’ll believe you missed if you’re only paying attention to one thing. But it was a little silly albeit a great demonstration.
Its literally a satire of those weird gorilla videos
mmmmmmmm
I truly don't get this at all. I can easily count how many times both balls are being passed while still noticing the gorilla. how does anyone miss the gorilla, it's so obvious. really dumb test, makes no sense.
It’s a test designed for schoolchildren, whose underdeveloped brains have to put full capacity into something as simple as focusing on a certain objective, hop off your high horse lmao
there is more advanced versions of the test that even 30-35 year olds don’t see the unselected attention object/thing
Fr? Dam I gotta see these then
@@dababyshay1674 why 30-35 year olds? does our ability to process a visual scene peak around that age range?
Yeah but admit it you missed the clown
