This video helped me start out, but I would advise to prefer more normals than specials in combos, unless you're trying to kill. Because if you don't, you're probably entering Blood Rage. For example, instead of finishing a combo with Kamuriyuki+Shizuriyuki (214H+623H), you can instead Kamuriyuki and then 6H on the ground. You're getting mostly the same damage for much less blood.
I remember I used to watch your combo guides for mkx but eventually I got good enough to figure out combos on my own This is my first guilty gear and I’m a scrub Thanks for the guide Damn it feels good to be a scrub again
That's me right now lmao, the dojo is only somewhat helpful and the guides online are still written in the confusing notation. Seriously gonna have these videos on my other monitor 24/7
I main gold lewis since his release and let me say that every combo on this video looks so much easier to do than GL just because of Nayugi's ridiculous range
Does anyone have any tips for an mk player going into ggs? I have so many questions and I've also never played games with such high work gameplay. Any help is appreciated. Also love your vids Amz. Needless to say i watched your mk vids all the time lmao
i play mnk and the best tip i can give you is change your binds. i like to use the numpad as a second wasd but for attacks. i have punch on 4, kick on 5, heavy slash on 6, slash on 8, jump on w, dash on spacebar, roman cancel on e, and dust on 0, but im thinking of switching to q. obviously you dont have to use this setup, but i really really like it, and it feels as natural as wasd. hope this helps!
The more you gain the better because its also a buff to your range and damage, obviously you dont want a combo to go into blood rage but as long as the combo falls between 0-2 meters its fine. Usually you just want a combo to get you to 1 bar, 2 if you wanted. Having meter is a good thing as well, you dont always want to sit at zero tho, sitting at zero is by no means a bad thing be you could get so much more off with at least 1 bar. Im a celestial nago player if that gives me any sort of credibility
it really just forces you to poke more, i think the hs and s are easy enough to confirm into that it keeps him balanced, also if you immediately throw out that bigass slash in blood rage you wont lose much health, but if you miss its an easy punish.
A note to everyone: ending a combo in a special is just an incredibly bad idea for Nago, who needs to manage his blood meter. Instead of a second special, hit them with forwardH while they're on the ground near you (which is usually the case after using the qcbH spin move). Getting blood back from using forwardH also means you have more freedom to cancel it into forward dash (qcfK) to maintain pressure on the opponent when the combo is over. You should also probably only use red-RC to combo from throws. Nago builds meter slowly enough that you normally want to save it for his super, or the other utility RCs.
"just an incredibly bad idea for Nago" - this is very short sighted. Sometimes you want the extra damage. Sometimes you want to do these combos and cancel into qcf+S to get better oki pressure. Sometimes you WANT your blood gauge more full so your HS is more powerful. QCB+HS -> F+HS is great and often useful, but simply does less damage than these combos, and it's worth learning them both
@@Siyko The video is titled beginner combos. It shouldn't showcase only the niche cases of using twice the blood to get 10 more dmg. Bloodrage is what will get beginner Nagos fucked, so how about we try to make that manageable first?
100% this. I've been maining nago and some of these combos just seem like a really bad idea. You want to be getting the most damage you can from your special moves, because you can use them to chain massive combos. Your blood gauge is there to STOP you from going totally ham. The more efficiently you use it, the more ham you can go. Yes, there's benefits to your heavy slash in damage and range, but you don't intentionally fill your blood meter to get there, fill your blood meter doing horrifying combos, then tee off on your opponent at range.
@@howhighareyou6052 In simple terms: when Nago does a special attack, it raises his blood gauge by almost one bar. Using his teleporting dash special only uses like a third of a bar. If the blood gauge gets filled, you basically die. But also, the higher it gets, the faster/more damaging/more reaching your sword normals get. You lower your blood meter by using his command grab to bite people, or landing hits with your sword.
Actually he's kind of difficult. He's on the slow side, doesn't have great defensive options, and has a risk reward play style utilizing a meter. You want to keep the meter high because it makes his normals very good. But if you fill it up all the way, you're left vulnerable for a bit and drain health. Good players can easily 100-0 you if you mess up with him.
@@user-gm4kv2my4u I've been playing him a ton since I've made this comment this is my first guilty gear and he seems on the easier to me personally his meter is manageable even when I play aggressively and since his teleport doesn't consume a lot and teleport into command grab catches a lot of people in my skill bracket off guard but I do see his many flaws especially against KY and millia
Love your guides, it really helps tremendously as a new player trying to get into fight games. I'll be chilling until leo guide drops, thanks!!

So thankful for your combo vids. Can’t wait for the Anji one to drop. 🦋

This is a great guide, but please include the damage counter so we can see how much damage each combo does!
Why not look at the energy bar? 🤷♂️

I was so confused at how to play this game until I saw your vids lmao

Just go to dojo then mission mode it teaches you everything

personally i love to do s s 214h 6h
ez to pull of decent damage while 6h gives a lot blood back
i did 28 combos with him. EASY peasy lemon squeezy.
Are these official combo challenges from the game? I cant find these anywhere in game
I can't get the air launch combo to work
Leo next pls, teach me how to unga bunga
I don't get how to do the z input

Any tips on how to do the zig zags inputs on analog specifically controller
My friend it is very hard to do so on analog, no real tips to help with that. I recommend just using the d-pad.
I think it's DP
The way I do it is by starting where you would start the zigzag, and going back diagonally into a quarter circle forward motion
@@roxas5234 thank you
It's a DP which is just forward quarter circle forward, simple!
Needs a blood rage meter. Some of these don't seem worth it based on how much blood is gained. Eh, just my two cents.

Real quick: when you empty hop ypu should be doing teleport
