Hey! Let me know what you want to learn about the most, so that I can know what to spend the most time on for future videos! We all have a lot to learn and I can't wait to start improving with you all.
Id like to know more about offensive pressure in this game. Since the blockstrings are pretty short compared to something like DBFZ
Im so happy to see you playing zato🔥🔥 pls do a zato guide🙏
I'd love to learn more about the movement options in this game. Like in the neutral, when pressured and when delivering pressure
Can you do a RC 101? Can't wait for the PC version to release so I can start to learn with your guides :)
You're playing Zato?? would love to have a guide on him
I bought this as my first fighting game solely based off the fact that the equivalent of Ness Pk Fire pissing off the entire community is a little girl on a dolphin.
That is where my CZcams recommendations started. A “stop posting about *totsudeki*”
*Super Japanesse young adult on a dolphin

I like how the "futuristic" samurai is technically a century behind in the guilty gear lore.
Thank freaking god I found a video that actually beginner friendly. Many a times have I found fighting games or guilty gear beginner guides that talk as if the begginers already know what all of the jargons they use mean, as if we're expected to know a single thing about fighting games even though some of those videos claim to be guides for complete beginners on fighting games. It is highly frustrating and discouraging to see those videos, but at least yours was different and informative.
Your video alone, was the only one that managed to excite me to learn about the game, and because of that, I actually look forward to getting the game! thank you, as you have given me the proper motivation to play this fantastic looking game!
Guilty Gear Strive is the first GG that I ever played, and I have to say: Oh boy is this game hard to learn.
Most fighting games are (except mortal kombat) I recently started playing skullgirls and wow I'm great in mortal Komatsu but skullgirls? I get my ass beat even in storymode lol
It's true. Outside of rivals of aether, dragon ball and Smash bros 2D fighting games are usually so hard to play compared to shooters or racers for example. I remember trying blaze blue and struggling to do even a simple projectile or special attack. But this game kinda looks like a fun time even if u suck so I'm considering getting into it
Is it worth it ?
@@Uzi0celot hell yeah
It’s easier than street fighter imo
How can you tell us to not learn too much combos while you're styling on us with your Zato-1 in the background ? xD
Honestly, I think a basic guide for Sol and Ky is a must considering new players. But then I'd really love to see an Offense 101, Defense 101 and Neutral 101 like your DBFZ series, easily one of the best resources for learning DBFZ out there.
yes neutral and gameplan
SECOND!
Ll
I do these kind of fundamentals' oriented videos. Be sure to check them out.
Nah, new player here, instant Nagoryuki main
decided to pick up a "real" fighting game with guilty gear after playing smash for the last 10 years, and ooooh boy. I had played bits of kof here and there, but I'm actually trying to learn strive, and its kinda daunting, but I'm getting the hang of it, and I'm looking forward to getting better :)
Same here lad. Tho now that Sora is coming to Smash, definitely gonna continue playing it. Sora is my new main.
Still, Strive is so damn fun.
Tekken :)

Loved your dbfz content, please keep making guides, tips and tricks about this game because I really want to learn and put more time in
I'm also coming from DBFZ(my first fighting game) and was so happy to see Rath will be making content for this game.
God bless you Rath, you were a lifesaver back in DBFZ and now in Strive. I really can’t exaggerate how valuable your content is for newcomers like me
Thank you for the kind words. I'm happy that these videos seem to be helping people out!
Unga bunga main character? I'm sold.
I’m a melee player who watched Leffen host a tournament for this and it looked so sick that I wanted to understand it better. This is the best explanation I’ve seen. Thank you!!
W fellow melee player
Out of all the fg channels on youtube, this is by far the best when it comes to guide content. Your vids are super easy to follow and understand.
Rath never fails with the quality content
just ran into this video by chance, but i gotta say, this is an absolutely fantastic video. all your explanations and super clear, and your tips are super helpful, bringing up some really important fundamentals for beginners without overcomplicating it. im not a complete newbie to fighting games (i've been practicing a few of the things you mentioned already), but i still really appreciate the polish you put into this
This the type of content that got me as a new sub. Great material, just enough depth and structured in a logical way. Also your tone and pacing while talking is great, keep it up!!
Thank you for the awesome guide man! I've never invested a lot of time into a fighting game to get good. A couple of months ago I started with dbfz but got bored with learning combo after combo because I thought I needed that before playing matches. Thanks to your video I've learned that that is by far not the most important part which means getting one or two combos down is enough for the start. Also this game is a 1v1 which means less things I have to worry about when starting compared to dbfz. Thanks again for the video. Looking forward to guides on the rest of the game's mechanics that you didn't touch on here and some character specific guides.
Didn't even feel like I needed this guide, but love the way your videos are structured and carry such a chill vibe, had to watch it. Great fkkin work, can't wait for more STRIVE content from ya Rath
Thanks for the video, can’t wait for some future guides. Going from Tekken 7 to Guilty Gear is like learning a new language. All these terms like meatys, Roman cancelling, bursts, projectiles, tension, R.I.S.C, etc; it’s alot to take in.
@@MostlyLost totally different to tekken
@@MostlyLost for starters tekken is 3d fighter that alone is enough to say its not the same
@@MostlyLost Tekken is a lot slower and more methodical than GG. There's also the 3D aspect, which plays into the combat as well. Additionally, Tekken Characters tend to have 50+ moves each
Needed this. Was planning on getting GG Strive soon love the content Rath🙌🏽
I'm very new to gg, I'm gonna follow your guides in detail and reach heaven!
Thanks.
Awesome video! Not too simplified but also not too overly-detailed. Answered a lot of my questions.
Come for the well edited and explained videos, stay for the positive and wholesome Rath encouragement
Great vid as always!
Yooo strive is putting up huge player counts! I hope this game brings a new era to your channel, and many more subscribers!
WONDERFUL video, love your content man will be sure to share it around with my friends, thanks so much
This music is great, I really feel comfortable just sitting here listening to you talk with this chill soft jazz in the background
Good stuff man! I look forward to more content from you.

id love character guides that emphasize game plans / win conditions. Loved you DBFZ content so I really look forward to whatever you make for GG.
I was interested in this game and was waiting for someone to tell me about it and explain things in a simple way. Your video convinced me to get it. Keep it up!
How has it been going
Yeah u liked the game?
I just got this game and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I gave this video a like when you mentioned learning about combos - what you said was both insightful and reasonable. Good video, cheers!
You got a new sub, man. Loved the pacing of the content!
This is the first serious game I have bought and damn is it hard but thanks to you I feel like in time I will actually be able to play in a non casual way. Love the vid btw!
Great advice on the setting the dash mechanic for 1 button. As well was suggesting to use Dust button to engage the defensive options
I really gotta thank you for this Video. Not only for me but for the friends i was able to get to GG-S. You sum up the first steps one has got to learn very well.
Thank you!
You just earned a sub my friend I’ve been trying my best to grasp this game and most of my trouble is coming from combos not necessarily the inputs but more of what abilities to combo together
This is my first real foray into a fighter like this. Thanks for this tutorial
This was amazing!
Super cool to know about the super on wallbreak leading to a knockdown, thanks! Got a lot out of this even though ive been following the news for the past year.
So this is a few years after you released this video, but your discussion over the gattling system was actually exactly what I needed. I was so confused as to how they connected or what to do, and it was only through this video that I finally realized how to chain together so many moves that I was simply never even realizing. Thank you so much, even if it is a bit late.
Thanks for another sick vid rath!!
dude this is a great video. you nailed it. I'd really love to get into strive but I haven't seriously played guilty gear since X2 back in 2005. This video helped me figure out where to start.
I would really love some in depth character specific guides. Or just a video with the general feel of each to help us pick a main or just the character we would put the most time in.
I wanted to get into fighting games and so I decided I wanted to learn GGST first. For the past couple months, since I bought the game, I've just been opening the game and doing random things like trying out all the characters a bunch of times over, but with no real progress. It just seemed daunting to learn, but after watching this video, I finally decided to dive in. Thanks mang
old comment, but same here
Just Got this game Yesterday, I generally play Tekken 7 which is completely different than this style so trying to figure out not just combos but neutral in general as been a head scratcher since it locks you out of certain buttons which i wasn't expecting. Thanks for this rundown though very very helpful and I'm for sure going to save this vid so i can revisit it because most of the other vids haven't talked about what you are. Subbed as well!
Thanks for the video. This is what i need to get started. :D
Coming from Dbfz, Strive is really something else. I think i really need a lot of time to learn the game properly.
That checklist is such a good help, I needed something to help guide me. I play Smash and I enjoy fighting games, so I have the basics and inputs aren't an issue, but I've never really learned another game besides Smash and a little bit of dbfz, so I wanna try Strive
Some would probably consider the video too basic but I loved it. Only been watching Strive up until now and haven't understood the basic buttons used (dust, slash, etc) because I've never played it. PC soon!
This was great man thanks!
Never knew about throws beating meterless reversals. Thank you!
Besides playing some Tekken 2 & 3 back in the day I havent touched a fighting game in ages. But this game pulled me back in relearing all the basic stuff. This video helped me a bunch!
This is the best strive guide I've found so far. Seen u in dbfz. Subscribed.
Holy shit dude! Keep this up the content is amazing!
I subbed for FIghterz, yet I understand that that game has pretty much reached its end. I enjoyed this beta and just grabbed it on PC, can't wait to see this game grow as much as fighterz did over time. Hope to see you make more content!
Much appreciated keep up the good work
@RathFGC thanks man, my cousin Grey and I are trying to get into this game over the summer and I have to say your beginners guide gives us some simple things to focus on without feeling totally overwhelmed and I have to say so far the dojo mode is great but quite overwhelming when just starting out.
Great video like always. I always know that when I watch a RathFGC video, it's compact, to the point and doesn't teach unnecessary things or talks about combos and shit that doesn't help me.
i’m not that good at fighting games aside from smash and this guide has been extremely helpful so far. thank you!
Great video mate 👍🏼
I'm new to fighting games all together but I really like this game. Thank you for making this!
Great video!
Great vid, as soon as I started I realized how convenient remapping dash would be, I can never do it consistently otherwise.
Make more STRIVE content plz. Easily one of the best guides I have seen on CZcams.
Thx for the guilty gear strive starter guides playlist. I’ll be using that.
the best Beginner's Guide to Guilty Gear Strive, ty!
I'd love to see a Ky specific video. I've been playing fighterz since launch and I got decent at the game (I'm ranked UI Sign), I'm branching out to GG but it's scary hehe. Ky seems cool and easier to get into than the rest of the cast so I'd like to be able to master him as soon as possible. Great vid as always man, keep it up!
I have played a lot of fighting games but this is my first guilty gear. Thanks for the guide
Great beginners guide!!! keep up the good work, I'll see you at locals
Very helpful, thank you 👍
great guide! Your Zato is looking nice
Yeesssss, the Rath Strive guides begin.
And since you asked, individual character guides are my main interest, but I'm kinda down for w/e, I just enjoy the channel.
yeah that’s a like and subscribe. I’m very VERY new to fighting games and have only played ones with simple mechanics (jump force, my hero’s ones justice) for only about a year.
I’ve avoided guilty gear strive and dbfz because the combo’s terrified me. no one on youtube was willing to help explain it to a TRUE beginner. This is the very first youtube video i’ve seen in my time of research, explaining guilty gear so in depth. You had time stamps, You explained at a normal pace, Everything was just PERFECT.
I’m ready to give guilty gear a re-try after hours of me practicing with no one to help explain a completely new game and experience to me :,D I could cry, again. ㅜㅡㅜ Thank you for the video.
I've been on the fence about buying this game because it looks so fucking cool, but I was a bit intimidated because my fighting game experience is mostly extensive Smash(melee and ultimate) and some incredibly casual Street Fighter. This guide made the game seem a bit less scary and I bit the bullet and bought the game.
How do you like it so far
@@thewanderingpnut1685 I've been really enjoying myself! I don't quite play everyday, but I fit in at least 30 minutes or so 4 days a week, I picked up the basic pretty quickly I'd say. The design of each character is what really stands out to me, with even the very basic Ky having cool stuff like Shock State to think about in a game, it just makes different MUs so dynamic. I love the Roman Cancel system which really gives space for players to get creative with their options. I've just really been having fun with it
I was told this game is like blazblue, so I bought it excited and ready. This guide helps out a lot.
Great video mate
Got GGS cuz the meme of Bridget the brisket. So far i like the aesthethics and game play. First time playing a fighting game other than KOF and STF from my Gameboy
i never play fighting games but i really like the look of this one, highly considering buying
Great video broh, greetings from Costa Rica! Lab drills would be cool for future vid!
I know all about these things, but still came just to hear your soothing voice (so ASMR-ish) ☺️
I al a big dbfz fan so keep doing guides of that game but i've just bought GGS and i love it, a Zato guide would be amazing but whatever you do i will enjoy it
I was losing sooooo hard on the default button layout and took a while to figure out the reason. What fixed it was swapping slash / heavy slash to x and y and punch / kick to ab. Idk for some reason it just feels right now.
I've never had so much fun actually learning a game. GGST is the first fighting I've wanted since RELEASE! I just got a PS5 this Christmas and now I can finally play it, it's so fun for me to practice, and even lose to people. So much that I can learn from and improve
glad I found this video, very helpful as I'm new to Guilty Gear as a whole. Only things I suck at are keeping the momentum going and I find it hard to perform quarter circles and half circles and the weird quarter circle and forward movement. I suppose I made things harder on myself for choosing Nagoriyuki as a main.. oops
you know what.. i will subscribe.. this video really gave me courage to try and learn it.. i played MK some time ago but gave up.. I wont do the same with this game and its thanks to you my guy
Hi! Just bought GGST and I’ve never played a guilty gear game before I think this video will help me a lot. Thank you!
Very nice video. Thank you
Great video
Great stuff
Very nice beginner summary
New to fighting games and I'm bouncing between Guilty Gear Strive and Soul Calibur 6. Already subbed, this is super helpful.
For struggles with specific matchups, consult mission mode; there are lessons there for dealing with unfavorable matchups more effectively!
Excellent take ! I actually think it’s going to carry the fgc, I hope it does. Thank you for your content.
the smug may in the thumbnail is taunting me...
also amazing video as always dude, keep up the strive content
thxs for this one, idk that you can put the dash command on your input, now i do now the RC better. XD thxs
I love you bro excited to learn a new fighting game let's go
Yea this is it 🍃
This is my first fighting game and ngl when I saw the game on sale and took a look I bought it just because of the visuals but after playing for quite a bit I realized that I could really get into this game it's actually really fun eventhough I'm still very bad.
great video
You were NOT bullshitting about the netcode holy shit im playing on mcwifi and still had an amazing connection. Its amazing
Can't wait for your Zato guide! Rath is the goat
Duuuuude YOU are AWESOME, THANKS YOU!
