Imagine, if Americans protested for affordable college or housing like developed countries perhaps, they'd have both of those.
I would have been all in on those.

They don’t benefit me, and the people they would benefit are threatening to destroy my democracy.
How about if you get a job and work for stuff just like humans have been doing for a couple hundred thousand years?

The cynicism of commentators here is sad. Youth is a phase of life, and throughout our history there have been protests. Probably most students are not entitled or petulant. Many are working to go to school, some are on scholarships, some have gone into debt in order to get a college degree. I just can't understand how Americans are so cold and punitive towards our young people. We should be glad that inspite of the materialism of our society, they still care about anybody besides themselves.
If they were not protesting in support of their mortal enemies, I would support them. Most of them have no idea what is even being protested.
I want every parent to think about this, my child can’t make their own doctor appointments so if she wants to protest I am all for it! We will be handing the world over to them so we need to allow them to find their own way. Republicans tell college students to stop wasting their parents money shows how they feel about student 1st amendment rights. I will continue to support protesting because that’s how they will grow.

Everyone was supporting Israel financially and prayerfully after the horrible terrorists attack on the innocents, we all cried tears when the details came out about the cruelty and totally depravity against young people enjoying an open air music concert. They're contemporary with this group. I am sure these young people remember. If not they should.. How can we ever forget the hope and joy we all felt as each hostage was released. We've been all in. Then Israel launched a retaliation campaign it seems they had no regard for the safety of innocent civilians, especially innocent children, which was stunningly brutal, cold blooded and staggering, leaving death and destruction everywhere they left. This was not the Israel I had supported and loved for years. I thought they had a moral compass, feared God, and understood that self-defense is one thing, but naked retaliation is another. It hasn't gotten any more hostages out, has it? My prayer is that they begin talks again. The LORD loves all of us and not just Israel. He loves ❤️ the little children, the protesters, hostages. He's God and is the creator of us all. The protesters in my opinion, are speaking out for those who are voiceless.

It's also counterproductive, taking media attention away from the issue they're trying to bring awareness to (the conversation has swung away from Palestinians in Gaza to students in elite American universities). The heavy-handed top-down response has been every bit as counterproductive, though, and if there was such a thing as a You're Not Helping Award it would have to go to the GOP congresscritters using it for performative anti-intellectualism. That's not so much counterproductive as it is acting in bad faith, though.

Calling for the destruction of Israel will only hurt the Palestinians…Israel is actually the reason why things are not even worse for the Palestinians, but you have to understand with issue with depth to know that.

Here’s a mental note for all the protest for Palestine. This is the United States 🇺🇸. We have a lot of problems here already. The only solution on my mind is how the middle class has somehow disappeared? I also question how college students who supposedly on their parents dime and high interest loans have enough time to protest an issue 8,000 miles away? The money needed to travel to Palestine is how much exactly? I live paycheck to paycheck. So, I bet you can imagine what the majority of Americans think about your protest. They don’t. Another classic example of something deemed “American“ that’s actually adopted from another culture.
Please remember it's not at all unusual for outside groups to send in agitators intentionally meant to foment violence among peaceful protesters in efforts to discredit their reason for protesting. That was proven to be the case when BLM were protesting the death of George Lloyd in Minneapolis as a result of a police officer's actions.
There are a number of groups who'd like to see the peaceful protests regarding the bloodshed in Gaza discredited, police actions to break up the students justified.

I've never been a supporter of Israel's policies(disagree not thinking they shouldn't exist), and I don't support Hamas. This has been a struggle since I can remember and always will be. What I don't get, is where were these protesters when our fair and free elections were threated by a losing former president? I mean, I get it to a point, but where is the passion to the threats to our country?

I am beyond angry at this group.
They have actually turned me from supporting the Palestinians to being at best apathetic.
Shame on them. They are doing more harm than good.
