They leaned harder into the “Stranger Things” angle instead of leaning harder into “Ghostbusters”. Phoebe Spengler doesn’t feel Egon-ish at all anymore.
I think she's very Egonish in this movie. She speaks her mind whether she gets in trouble or not. She has Egon's temper.
@@GhostbustersFan77 without the redeeming qualities
Yeah take the glasses and hair away and she’s just another modern cinematic girl character!
Good take. I see it now that you mention it.
Nah if they wanted a Stranger Things vibe they would've had the Boogeyman terrorize Egon's grand child. Anyone that remembers the cartoon knows that Samhain was a pussy. The masterpiece episode was Egon's history with the Boogeyman.
Phobie tells ghost girl, "your the only one who gets me." Way to throw your best friend Podcast under the bus.
Melody called poor Podcast "a third wheel"? Writer/Director Gil Kenan really hates him.
Does Podcast really get her? All he cares about is the paranormal.
@@GhostbustersFan77but didn’t all she care about was paranormal stuff?
@@shadowpup3016 Not in the same way.
We didn’t even learn his real name! We did get a bit about his background though.
Anything is better than "Ghostbusters 2016"
Exactly
We don’t talk about that one, much less remember it.
Ghostbusters 2016 > Ghostbusters 2
Lesbian romance from a minor is damn close
@@XDarkslayer223 at least white liberal feminists who become lesbians don't procreate. Their bloodline died off very quickly
This is how I see it. The first two are classics, the video game is the third movie we never got, the cartoons are goated, and Afterlife is the epilogue. Everything else is just a fever dream to me.
Honestly yeah, really should’ve just ended it at Afterlife, felt like a good conclusion to the series.
@@SleepyMookSeeing Egon go into heaven was such a great ending. I really don't know why Sony had to continue with more instead of letting the franchise rest
Don't forget 2016 just never happened it's a parallel universe of hell that took over and defeated the real Ghostbusters
The game is so underrated
The video game is the third, fourth, and fifth movie.
They keep adding characters because they are still thinking that they can make this into a "Cinematic Universe" where these characters can lead their own spin-offs. Terrible.
What, are you saying you're not excited for Ghostbusters: Podcast?! :D
I don’t like how they went from a firefighter team dynamic to a family thing. It felt like a ABC Family movie that comes airs on Halloween.
It literally serves to prolong the careers of these actors that no one cares about anymore. Nothing else.
It seemed like an episode of RGB, almost like Ghostbusters need to make a new tv series that connects the movies. Like this movie felt like the pilot episode for a Ghostbusters show.
But, they did treat it as a firefighter team dynamic? Just with a family.
This is why 1980s movies are so bad ass they barely made any films for kids. They made the films they wanted to make mainly for adults but we kids loved it as well and this is why they have the longevity that they do. We enjoy them as kids And we still fucking love them as adults
Exactly 🎯
sounds like a lot of cope, there were countless shit films even back then.
To be fair, now. In the 80s they sold adult movies to children.
For an era that, in actual film buff circles, is referred to as "repressive" on film due to films becoming corporatized there is a surprising amount of movies that were specifically targeted at children that were not written or made for specifically children.
@@Blanktester685there weren't as many crap shit films then as there are today tho it is all mostly crap now
Movies made for kids in the 80s were mostly animated. With a few G or PG rated live action ones. Those became especially popular in the early-mid 90s!
Red Letter Media did not actually say they liked this movie. They said they didn't hate it like they thought they would. They then bashed it quite a bit, but they made it clear that they still didn't completely hate it because their expectations for things like this are so low now. They also said they should let the franchise die. That's hardly a positive review.
Right. The amount of bloat in the middle is a major drag. This could have been a 90 minute movie.
Yeah, they said this one was a dry fart compared to afterlife being a wet fart. Not exactly a great review.
At this point i dont even care about their childhood franchises review
I thought it was great. Then again I dont really take critics all that seriously 😂
@@jamespaul6315why tf did your mum go through labour for your dmbass.
Ghostbusters honestly never needed a sequel and the only good sequel ever made was Ghostbusters: The Video Game(2009).
Good times that game, good times
The cartoon was pretty solid. Then again I haven't rewatched it since the ecto cooler made it's first round of merchandising cash ins.
Yeah that's a conclusion i reached surprisingly after watching Leo, not every movie needs a sequel or be turned into a series, just enjoy the single story
Number 2 is underrated
Idk GB2 was pretty good tho
They sold it as “all the ghosts they’ve ever caught” are loose .. that’s not what really happened until the end and they don’t really have to do that
For real!!! They should have done that. have the containment unit break which causes them to go all over NYC catching them back
And we don’t even see ghosts wreaking havoc like in the original, just some lights in the sky.
I was hoping to see ALL the ghost designs from the previous movies.
Instead it’s just Slimer.
That was so lame.
@@JustSomeCanadianGuyfor Nostalgia purposes that was but why does Slimer now have red eyes he never did before
The original Ghostbusters was and always has been a movie for adults. This is what no other movie in the series gets. Yes, there was a cartoon for kids, but many adult movies had one (Rambo, Robocop, and there was even one of Aliens in the works). That doesn't mean the movie itself is directed at kids. Every other Ghostbusters movie has tried to appeal to a wider audience and in the process lost what made the original so special. This is why they can't recapture the magic of the original: because they're not making the effort. They want the same cake by changing the recipe.
ghostbusters 2
@@Blanktester685Ghostbusters 2 was deliberately dumbed down to appeal to fans of the cartoon.
@@Dreadjawsyet was still miles better than the Nostalgia bait Afterlife
im gonna say it, Harold Ramis was the key(master) to the Ghostbuster franchise. Dan Aykroyd and Ramis wrote both part 1 and 2 but without Ramis(RIP), GB will never be the same
Doe...Ray.... Egon😂
The problem is that a bunch of people didn't like Ghostbusters 2. Personally I liked it, but it was definitely a step or two below the original. The issue is that Ramis/Aykroyd struck gold the first time and was never able to recapture it. The main problem these new films (and the franchise overall) have is that the story refuses to movie forward. I wish that Ghostbusters the video game was official and the franchise built from that. With the Ghostbusters franchising and going national.
Last time Harold Ramos was involved with the franchise was Ghostbusters The Video Game, and that game is still the closest to a true follow up to the first two movies. The 2016 reboot sucked and Afterlife and this go in a different direction.
@@ianbaird7449His "pleased with himself" face after doing that is what gets me.
So true.
Busting didn’t make them feel good

The more I think about it, Ghostbusters just doesn't work as a multi-movie franchise. The first film worked as it was a couple of guys building a pest control business but with ghosts, with all the blue collar comedy of these four rubes somehow beating an elder god. Each film after that just doesn't reach the same heights and retreading old ground. I think a new TV series would be great as the 'monster of the week' format works well with the concept.
Agreed. The future installments need to be scarier. Hit the modern kids with a dose of 80s PG-rated horror.
We do need a new monster if the week show since supernatural ended.
Joe you gotta stop interrupting Alex when he speaks. Let him finish his sentences like they both do for you.

Both the movie industry and the gaming industry have gotten so damn lazy

I feel like Ghostbusters is a series that we should just let Die already
First time? That could be said of a lot of stuff these days.
Disney Star Wars.
Disney Marvel
Disney Indiana Jones
Disney live action remakes.
Sony Ghostbusters
Sony Spiderverse
Thank god Back to the Future has remained untouched...as of yet.
Let’s not forget the robots - pls no more Transformers, Terminators, or Matrix movies
Spoken like someone who isn't a fan of the series. Waited over thirty years for new Ghostbusters movies and when we start getting them what happens? People like you saying they should stop making them.
@@GhostbustersFan77 so is waiting 30 years worth it for underwhelming mediocre films?
Look at it another way. Indiana Jones had an ending with Last Crusade where they rode off into the sunset.
Then 19 years later in 2008 they brought him back in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as an older Indy. Now Crystal Skull is not a grear film and certainly was weaker than the films that came before. But I enjoyed it and felt we again got a final sendoff with Indy marrying Marion. Then because Disney are creatively bankrupt they decide to make a fifth film..scrapping what Spielberg had outlined. The result was an ill conceived legacy sequel that should have left well enough alone that arguably damaged the brand more than Crystal Skull ever did which at least felt like an adventure. Dial was an excercise in misery that got too hung up on the idea that getting old sucks. We get it. We saw Indy older in Crystal Skull. No one wants to see a hero washed up as a broken and divorced alcoholic. But this is a template for Disney now where rhey have to shit on a beloved legacy character to try and prop up an insufferable and unlikable girl boss.
Does everything need a sequel? No. Back to the Future is a perfect trilogy as it is and no one with any sense wants a Back to the Future 4. Especially when it wouldn't have Michael J. Fox who is battling Parkinson's. And Chris Lloyd is too old.
It is dead. It has died. It died a long time ago. It died back in 2015-2016 when they announced that godawful abomination that came out.
Ghostbusters The Video Game is the best Ghostbusters follow up after the first two movies.

Am I the only one who had no idea a ghostbusters movie was coming out until today?
I remember seeing a trailer months ago but then immediately forgot about it.
Nope. I watched it Thursday
It came out of nowhere for me. Found out about it a couple days ago when the youtube reviews were coming out.
Yes the only one in the world
Yes.
I always felt like the hate on Ghostbusters 2 was just a hate trend. I loved it. Obviously, it's not as good as the first one, but it's no way as bad as people make out.
I rate Ghostbusters 1 & 2 about the same
GB2 is amazing! I’d watch it any day. FE unfortunately just didn’t hit right. Was hoping for so much more.
Ghostbusters 2 is bad because it's just the first movie again but less funny. The Ghostbusters have to start from nothing, nobody believes them at first, Dana accidentally ends up in a world ending supernatural plot that she has to be saved from, Peter and Dana build a romance, the Ghostbusters get incarcerated before the mayor releases them and gives them his full support, they save the day and everybody cheers. They had a chance to build on the first movie but they just told it again instead.
@@ThomasStClair-zr2lb I can’t totally disagree! Though I always felt that Dana being back was purposeful, as she worked in the museum. And the slime purposefully came up to be run over by her baby carriage, whether it was within or without Vigo’s control. And I guess I liked that Peter and Dana had to rekindle a romance, I guess it helps show character growth for him in a way? I think the jokes landed better, were more creative, Louis Tully is a great character (that Frozen Empire tried to recreate in 4 or 5 different characters), the hilarious ridiculousness of some of it, like the Statue of Liberty- that’s what made the movie work for me.
Why would i want to watch the same movie again when i can just watch GB1 again when i want? It feels like the same people who like GB2 would be the same people who like TFA because its just A New Hope.......AGAIN. Even though if I wanted to watch that movie i could already do so. I was ready to move on from GB1 and ANH. Apparently Hollywood wasnt/cant.
@20:15 wow, Angry J actually aware he is cutting off Alex. What happened ? he is awake this time ? lol
Who wanted a Boogeyman movie story. Make it scary with natural humor.
It annoys me that this and afterlife pretty much tosses out the ‘09 game out of the timeline, even tho it pretty much held the title of GB 3 up until the latter was finally made. It was also the last one that had been written by Akroyd and Ramis
Yeah they shouldve just kept gbtvg canon that was a good story
Because the game is 3 movies worth of plot. Ghostbusters 3, 4 and 5. Let's say Ghostbusters Return, Ghostbusters Go To Hell, and Ghostbusters Hell Freezes Over. Some ideas that were kicking around and Dan Ackroyd couldn't get made (some of which was because of Bill Murray).
They don't want to refer to lore not everyone knows. It's easier to not canonize it, but real fans can. It doesn't really matter, If you know you know.
@@cornbredxyeah but they couldve included some elements here in frozen empire but the story was really hard to follow and not much action for almost entire movie. Things were just being thrown around and it wouldve been nice to include the ghostbusters actually capturing the librarian instead of just randomly appearing
The mid credits scene had me wanting a Maximum Overdrive remake, and then I was swiftly disappointed to see the little Mini Puffs driving the truck. I'm not even mad anymore, just disappointed in....almost everything really.
Yeah, that's because talentless and mediocre writers are in charge of our favourite franchise and running them into the ground
@@joju5849absolutely this. Talentless writers that are more concerned with shoving political agendas down our throats than creating a great, engaging story. I’m sick & tired of these lazy half assed modern films. Just want to go back to the cinema & be entertained again, is it to much to ask??!!
Why is it trendy to shit on ghostbusters 2? I always loved ghostbusters 2. I honestly think it’s just as good as the first one.
Same both are on par with each other.
The reason it's bad is because it's just the first movie again. All the same plot points but less funny.
@@ThomasStClair-zr2lb Same reason why the Terminator franchise sucks.
Terminator rulz@@googlesucks2449
Same. I was born in 84, so I missed out on the firsy movie. I became a fan because of the animated series. Then I saw the 2nd movie. Loved it. Then I went back and watched the first one.
This movie has the dark side of the 2nd movie, but also felt like the animated series (which is what they went for).
The best thing for me was looking over at my 10 yr old daughter, and her loving it. 'Passing the GB Fan torch.
i like how joe is realizing he accidently talksover others and stops had to work on that myself good on you joe
Yeah, he's gotten much better at it. Progress.
Extreme Ghostbusters had the best modern stories.
Extreme Ghostbusters got so dark the studios wanted them to lighten up and the writer said no. One reason there is no season 2. Which I am glad they did not let the studio soften the stories like they wanted.
My nitpick was that the big bad can controll ghosts but not Humans, needs the main character's ghost that is LINKED to her human body to chant the incantation...
why not uhm... I dont know... "MAKE A POSSESOR GHOST TAKE HOLD OF HER BODY" and then do the incantation...
They clearly showed possessor ghosts in the movie, and we know ghosts can possess Humans from past movies.
it sounds like that guy in the movie theater got lucky.. he didnt know you had 2 Beef Cakes backing you up
It's a wonderful live-action version of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon,... for better or worse.
RedLetterMedia had expertly posited that Ghostbusters 2016 film received a better critic score because the Sony's marketing and advertising team pitted the male audience against the female audience when the movie trailer was first shown and the horrible trailer was down voted. This strategy backfired on them massively. Critics felt it was their duty to defend a female-only Ghostbuster team and the intelligent audience lambasted the movie's story for being terrible, no motive for villain and the garbage jokes.
Gb2016, afterlife and frozen empire all have a 6 of 10 for me. Gb2016 is not bad, it is definitely more fresh as the soft reboots, but all movies fail on other aspects. Frozen empire is the weakest, as its basically kill the franchise, as no one wants more of that
@@MrInvinciblewarrior For me, GB 2016 is the weakest. The jokes completely fall flat and the conversations went off into rambling tangents. The villain in GhostBusters: Frozen Empire, Garraka the demon lord has more of motive than the villain in GB2016. So what is Rowan's motive? Rowan was an incel stalker paranormal scientist who was ridiculed so much that he caused ghost terrorism and killed himself to become a powerful ghost, really? So, Rowan is the equivalent of the Just Stop Oil protestor. Garraka actually killed people with his powers. Rowan killed himself, froze the police department, and turned himself into the Ghostbusters logo and tried to kidnap a woman. The SNL cast played unlikable characters and Chris Helmsworth acted his worst character role. Ghostbusters 2016 was for me a 2/10 and Frozen Empire was a 4/10.
I feel like i didnt see a single ad for this movie i honestly forgot about it
The last 25 minutes of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was a good Episode of *The Real Ghostbusters* and *Extreme Ghostbusters.* Too bad that it takes 1 hour 25 minutes of boring, stuffed with memberberries filler to get to those 25 minutes.
Yes, it feels like they stole an old real ghostbusters script and made sure all their targets are hit
The “bustin makes me feel good” line in the trailer made my eyes roll. So I can’t imagine seeing the actual movie.
Can they just let this series go already
That's the wrong way to look at it in my opinion. Make a good Ghostbusters movie. 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' wasn't bad and in the third act it was even very good.
I like Joe's reviews, but I finally realized what is off about them -- they don't edit the camera going back and forth between who's talking, so you just see Alex looking bored for the first 15 mins (and OJ too sometimes). They would benefit from a more conventional style imo, just some constructive criticism
Or joe could quit interrupting everyone, that probably would help
@@vincentrock5601He's better with not interrupting so much. It should be him talking more since it's his show. Just need to switch the camera based on who's talking, makes for a better show
@@vincentrock5601 its his show if he wants to do the most talking thats his choice, if they dont like it they can do their own yt channel.
Then maybe ALEX should SPEAK UP AND TALK MORE
@@KorraPokeReactions He used to, but got squashed back by Joe. Watch the earlier vids with Alex, it's kinda funny to watch the progression to this. The current format is: Joe goes first (the others may interject a little), then OJ, then Alex last. Which is totally fine. Just cut the camera because his dreary appearance is depressing lol
Harold Ramis would hate these movies.
How would you know? I doubt you knew him personally.
@@GhostbustersFan77 nice name
I don’t know, Harold loved everything Ghostbusters. It’s a shame really because they did have a heap of potential post afterlife.
The plot was sloppy. Some scenes needed to be cut completely and other scenes needed to be extended and explained more.
The nostalgia stuff was a bit much (I enjoyed it don’t get me wrong) but it’s a shame that they felt they had to lean into that stuff again.
For example (SPOILERS BEYOND HERE) :-
Peck didn’t need to be in this movie at all. I was happy to see him but he didn’t need to be here at all.
The librarian ghost (Elenor Twitty) was awesome to see back but they still haven’t trapped her and this confirms for certain the video game isn’t canon.
Garraka felt like he did absolutely nothing and really should have been in the movie much longer than he was. His intro set him up to be really intimidating and then he did pretty much nothing.
His turning in his grave 😊
Ramis would have hated the fact that they put him in it as a ghost and got all sentimental. His comedy was alway super cynical and he would have hated it. You don’t need to know him to know that
The lack of the Theme Song on Frozen Empire's trailer should've been a dead giveaway that this wouldn't be good...
They played the theme all through the movie. It had all the classic music...so...nah
I just chalk up the missing theme song to not wanting another visit from Huey Lewis’ lawyers.
@@ShayneRawlshe’s talking about cruel summer.
I knew you wouldn’t like it before I even watched the review. That’s kinda been the sense of most of the reviews lately. But I have to ask, what did you really expect? No way in hell would it ever live up to the classics
I expected a good movie, not such garbage.
My favorite think about this movie was Ray geeking out over ghosts and mythologies. Dan Aykroyd is actually into that stuff for real so it’s nice to see him have some fun with it.
Also, Ghostbusters 2 is underrated. Vigo is an iconic villain and the river of slime is one of the coolest “threats” in the entire franchise.
I liked “Afterlife” better but my biggest gripe with both the newer films is they don’t use the original ghostbusters theme at all during the movies. They have some cool scenes that if they played the original theme during the scenes it would take them to another level. It’s a huge missed opportunity to the overall feeling of the movies.
Me n my 3 friends really had a good time with this film, ending was a bit meh but the build up n characters was really good. I would watch another Ghostbusters film
Ghost busters for kids is an odd direction when the trailer for this movie hits you with a sex joke 20 seconds in
You'd be shocked by 6 year olds in public schools these days. They talk about sex, "adult films", use profanity, use vulgar sex slang, etc.
What's for kids these days is not at all what was for kids in the 90s and earlier.
@@EvilGoodGuy What are you talking about?? :/ Kids shows in the 90s were handled by professional writers and hollywood producers who wanted to make a show that a child could enjoy but an adult could also get something out of with all of the innuendos/jokes and sometimes very real adult consequences depending on the show out there. Sometimes even the shows meant to sell toys (Beast Wars) would have some first class writing and episodes.
When people talk about "Kids Cartoons", usually they mean "80s cartoons". The ones usually made to be dumb on purpose just to sell action figures and ones where the plot means nothing and goes nowhere but "bad guy got his butt kicked" and then they would have a "sick burn" thrown their way "because funny".
I wonder if the Xenomorph in Alien Romulus is gonna be " big chap " from the first alien movie, post Ripley's blasting him to the void

I miss Rick Moranis
The bigger question is, why are we still giving Hollywood our money? These franchises are dead. Hollywood hates us
Ok you ended that nicely but yeah.. I mean. If we can't have our nostalgia to be a new reality.. then yeah. Hollywood ruins a lot of shit
Relax
Was pretty disappointed with it tbh, felt like there was to many characters in it for the sake of it. felt like a few characters held the whole movie and the rest were just pretty shit. Jokes were bad and the nostalgia wasnt there just felt really forced. Without spoiling the end was super rushed.
The de-possession object itself was cool and makes sense. How the object was used in terms of Phoebe was dumb.
My opinion stands. The best "new generation" sequel for Ghostbusters was and remains Extreme Ghostbusters. All they had to do was adapt that onto the screen. It would've just been Ghostbusters meets Stranger Things.
"Looking for signs of a good movie." LoL...🤣🤣🤣🤣
2016 received a good critic score to jab at people on the internet calling it shit from the start. It was a internet spat, not honest reviews.
As Joe states, the villain, late as he was to arrive, was menacing. Def a step back from “Afterlife.”. Tried to do too much.
It wasn't bad but it wasnt good as the previous movie
The villain ghost felt like it lasted 30 minutes
The 3rd act felt so rushed
First is an absolute classic, second is ok a disappointment but better in hindsight relative to what we have now 2016 is aggressively unfunny
2nd is almost as good as the first. The haunted subway was scary, the river of slime was unsettling and blob in the bathtub was freaky. The movie had an unnerving atmosphere, the new kid friendly gb movies will never have this.
Perfect Assessment.
Oooooh you know what, I thought Jason Reitman directed Frozen Empire, and I was confused because of how it felt off compared to Afterlife, but it wasn't directed by him, and I think it shows. Not to say that Jason Reitman is a flawless director, but I think he would've done far better.
I got a movie repeater to one time, and asked him if he needed any special help. He shut up for at least 10 minutes!
I completly agree with your movie rating. I watched it yesterday, man what a waste of time. How they make the movie less interesting as the first one? So many characters you dont care about. Stupid Plots, everything all over the place.
Let Alex speak more. It took 12 minutes to hear anything from him. Then he kept getting interrupted. Alex saved this review. The points from AJ and OJ weren't as substantive. Wish there were less interruptions so Alex could get out his points fully. Thumbs downed this review for that reason. Less interruptions please.
Edit: I took off the thumbs down. I liked that Alex got to say more in spoilers section. Still think there were too many interruptions though. Although AJ's points in spoilers were solid ones.

YOU LITERALLY BEFRIENDED PODCAST IN AFTERLIFE BECAUSE HE UNDERSTOOD YOU AND YOU HARDLY FUCKING HANG OUT WITH HIM. THE FUCK???
Not the best, not terrible. It's the second best Ghostbusters movie since 1989.
Man, that's a shame :/
What a waste of a great IP
It's funny how I very rarely agree with Joe on movies, but I'm basically on the same boat with his Ghostbuster scores. What hurts the most about this movie is the expectations I had going into it that ultimately shit the bed. Afterlife had heart that Frozen Empire severely lacks. The first 20 minutes or so was good and entertaining, but as soon as the CW teen romance started, I pretty much lost interest and checked out. And from there everything else seemed to spiral downwards.
My family and I saw it Sunday. We all enjoyed it, the one critic my wife and I had was that Kumail Ali Nanjiani's scenes seemed to be off. His scenes in the finally really killed the tension.
I saw it. It was a 6 for me.
They either needed to have a final goodbye to the old crew or only have the new crew, not both.
It was so forced and no one had any character. Couple of fun bits but that's about it.
6 sounds too high
It feels like most people just turn their brains off when they watch movies and stuff. Should I start doing that? Just stop paying attention to everything and go "ooooh zappy zap zap..."
I feel like that’s how we ended up with the quality (or lack ) of entertainment now, because people “turned their brains off.”
Everytime someone jiggles their keys you should be hypnotized...
No. Don't settle. I refuse to turn off my brain to be entertained.
I blame Marvel and Starwars
Depends on the movie, if it’s something like Godzilla vs Kong or Fast And Furious I turn it off if I feel the film is going for serious or realistic I judge it that way and it keeps me happy
Holy shit the Kingdom Hearts 3 comment from Alex is spot on! That game was so disappointing if you really think about what the game was suppose to end on.
I was 9 years old back in 1984 when the first Ghostbusters movie came out, and I saw it in the theater back then. I am still a huge Ghostbusters fan ever since and I am now 49. I have seen all of the Ghostbusters movies in theaters more than once and many times on dvd/bluray/digital and I like all of the movies.
I like really like Ghostbusters Frozen Empire a lot, and more then Ghostbusters Afterlife which I thought was okay and I even liked the Ghostbusters remake with the all woman Ghostbusters.
I like all of the Ghostbusters movies, so in order of my favorite to least favorite is:
- Ghostbusters (1984)
- Ghostbusters 2
- Ghostbusters Frozen Empire
- Ghostbusters (2016)
- Ghostbusters Afterlife
You got brainwashed and conditioned at 49 man I feel bad for you most old adults don't let today's society affect em
@@XxWolfxWaRioRxXNah. It’s just I am not as picky like soo many other people are nowadays. For me this new Ghostbusters movie made me feel like a kid again, and it was really enjoyable to watch. So imo it was a really good Ghostbusters movie.
We thought this movie was so mid 😂😂🤣
THE ONLY VOICE THAT MATTERS IS ALEXs, thanks for the getting right to the point and the TRUTH AS ALWAYS!
I went this last weekend to see it....I finished my popcorn 🍿 and root beer and walked out after 30mins
Just saw this movie tonight. Very disappointing as a whole. I was born in 86 and I grew up with the ghostbusters. How can writers who get paid to do this make such a terrible script?
This should've always been a one-movie franchise
Facts let the franchise die and move on
Nah considering 2 is the best one lol.
The millennials are at it again
I loved GB4
@@juggalogamer8541anyone who identifies as a "jugglo" doesn't deserve an opinion lol.
@@juggalogamer8541What was there to LOVE? You simply couldn't find it pretty good or decent, but you LOOOOOOVE it?
@@modernmobster I think they're trolling, it's best to leave them & don't engage.🤔
Whats age group are millennials? Cuz I see alot ppl confuse us w gen z, I'm 37 lol
😎 They should have did a movie based on the Boogie Man episode from the real Ghostbusters cartoon, but live action. 👻
Now that would have been scary and good. 😱👍
Props to OJ's Dinosaur Valley shirt. That's a cool place.
The original run of the real Ghostbusters is way better than these modern trash takes.
Agreed. When Dave Coulier replaces Lorenzo Music, RGB goes downhill. Still some great episodes, but Slimer takes over the show!🙄
You can blame Q5 (ABC’s corporate standards & practices group) for that.
Still no Shogun Review sadd
is it really that good? i have it but didnt started yet
Yeah, I've wanted to hear their thoughts on that show as well.
I thought for sure we would get coverage on Shogun & Masters of the Air. Literally 2 best shows this year so far but hating a bad show like Halo is easier I assume. 😢
It's worth your time but you have to be in the mindset for watching it since half of the show is subtitles and there is a lot of lore
Are you talking about Shogun, the show that isn't even completed yet? Is that the one they should review?
You want them to review a tv-show that isn't fully released yet?
Yeah, I thought the mini-Stay Pufts were only manifesting because of Gozer. Why the hell are they still around?
Gonna rewatch the original ghost busters. Been 14 years.
I enjoyed the film a lot but there were some plot holes like what was the frozen ghost who spoke to Melody on the street, it couldn’t have been the main villain, he was trapped in the pokeball during this time.
Also they said the villain can manipulate ghost into doing what he wants but then Melody towards the end of the movie says no he can only manipulate humans BUT it showed that the villain was manipulating ghost throughout the movie.
he couldn't get out of the orb, but he could affect things outside the orb. also, Melody says the exact opposite! literally, the whole reason she tricked Pheobe into becoming a ghost was so Garraka could control a ghost who was still tethered to their body! Watch the fricking movie!
Patton Oswald is in this movie. of course its gonna suck.
Ratatouille, Walter Mitty, and The Fan were all awesome. WTH you talking about
@@aaadesktopThere's a reason why nobody talks about any of those movies.
I think you guys are right that this was originally two movies. 1st movie, the family moves to the firehouse, and Paul Rudd is hyped about starting ghostbusting but the rest of the family aren't interested and wanna do their own thing ( they then don't appear again). They introduce the nerdy new guy from Winston's organization (Winston just cameo's as the big boss) and maybe some plot contrivance about Rudd putting out an ad for ghostly items which is how he meets Kumail's character, and they go to see Ray (who's only a cameo) and points them in the direction of Patton Oswald's character cos Ray says he's not an expert on that particular mythology. As they add each of the four main characters who will become the new ghostbusters, u show Patton and the nerdy guy hitting it off like Egon and Ray did in the original with Rudd taking over for B.Murray, and Kumail as the new Winston. Then u can have a regular ghostbusters plot with the 4 of them going against the bad guy. U can still have the lab run by Winston and fill it with scientists who aren't 'field' guys as background characters. 2nd movie, the kids (in their own movie under Ghost Corps) are maybe on a summer trip/summer school together (maybe they are ghost corps trainees )and their movie has the lesbian ghost etc and a Saturday morning cartoon pg-13 plot for kids. Done.
@5:55 "This is ghostbusters for your... I don't know, thirteen year old girl." - Angry Joe
Actual dialog from the movie:
Mayor: Can you just stop acting like a child.
Girl: I AM A CHILD!!
Other actors: Buuuuurn!!
.
ME: This #@#$# is operating a nuclear reactor on her back. I hate children, and I hate them more when they act like this.
I enjoyed it. It was a fun watch. It didn't have the heart that Aftelife had (still the better movie) but I laughed more watching this movie than with Afterlife.
Ghostbusters II was more of a cartoon movie than this one (it was literally a PG movie). There are problems with this but I don't think this being a kids movie was one of it. In fact, I don't think this movie is suited for 8 year olds unlike Ghostbusters II.
I agree we had fun with this movie but it didn't have that same feel of a Ghostbusters movie. What was there was fun and interesting aside from the ghost girl. She dragged the story a bit. If they took that time to give us more team ghostbusting than it be great
I think we can all agree the movie had too much things going on, lots of subplots and they should have let it breath a little bit. Doesn't mean it's terrible.
The thing is that we all wish we had a Ghostbusters movie like the OG, when in reality it was lightning in a bottle between Ramis, Reitman and Aykroyd's story and Bill Murray's performance. No Ghostbusters movie will ever come close to that, especially without Ramis and Reitman around. Even GB 2 couldn't do it with the OG cast and crew, because they didn't want to do it in the first place and let's be honest, it was a studio cash grab to capitalize on the success of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon (they even shoehorned Slimer after the fact and made him look more like his cartoon counterpart). After all, this was not originally conceived as a franchise.
8:40 this is why I don’t go to the movies
Oh God the movie theater anymore is HELL people don't have respect like they used to, the prices suck ass, and I swear the popcorn tasted better back in the day
@@rtvtictaczac727 last time I was at the theater all the teens had their phone out and were talking with each other and some dude to the right was repeating the line sand laughing like Joe said in this video. It's so annoying
@@KonaSuba yeah that's about average anymore, I had through the spider verse pretty much ruined for me by someone behind me who's seen it way to many times
I didn't even know there was a new Ghostbusters movie coming out until, like, four days ago.
Aj, idk how you can think og ghostbusters wasnt aimed at kids. The original ghostbusters was rated PG 😂 definitely as aimed at kids as you can get in terms of the rating. It was 1984 so things back then were more accepted than they are now and theres no way it would be released at lower than a PG-13 or R for the amount of strong sexual references.
The “Ghostbusters” film was released on June 8, 1984.
The PG-13 rating did not exist yet, but was introduced later on July 1, 1984.
The first PG-13 film was “Red Dawn”, released August 10, 1984.
I dunno… I had fun with the movie. I thought the BBEG was really cool and intimidating, and the humor was mostly well done.
My only big issue is with Melody, I hated her and what they did with her. She ended up feeling a bit creepy to me (and not the right kind of creepy for a movie called “Ghostbusters”).
I also wish the final battle didn’t just take place inside the firehouse. They could’ve utilized the frozen city a lot more.
Overall, I thought it was a 6 or 7/10 movie.
Generous rating. We need to hold Hollywood to higher standards, especially trying to work off all time classics. They are just gonna keep getting away with this crap
@@SolidPain6624 Eh, you may be right. Still had fun watching it, nothing really took that away from me.
