- The 3D model and it’s texture was the only 3d model I had when I did this VFX experimentation and has no political or any ideas behind it.
The purpose is to display a tragic and dramatic crash scene of an airplane as you can find them in Movies and series.
Hi everyone,
just finished the comp of my plane crash scene, here is a breakdown.
But unfortunately i didn't shade the background.
There will be a 3 part tutorial and i'll try to record all of them this week end and upload 1 per week.
1 : plane fracture in blender fracture modifier built.
2 : trees fracture and sim in blender fracture modifier built.
3 : High rez smoke simulation in blender.
but first i have to finish the editing of my tutorial about rigid bodies for the car crash, i didn't have much time to record it and i kinda forgot it since my mind was blown away by the amazing FM built.
i hope you'll like it.
Everything is Blender except Compositing.
As usual, if you have any question, ask them in a comment and i'll do my best to answer them.
best,
Albin

Only because of people like you, we can proudly say that blender can do anything . Subscribed for more 👏👏
Simply Amazing! No other words to describe It! You pushed Blender to its limits! I'm exploring smoke SIM in Blender now and This Is very motivating!
I look at this every day and still can't believe how well done this is. What was this for? For practice or a certain project? Can't wait for that tutorial!
Hi Jaden, i did this to test the fracture built modifier to make myself more familiar with this built :) thanks for your support mate.
How were you able to make something as big as this without running into fracture-mesh shards extruding from the airplane? When I make mesh at this big of a scale, the shards don't stay in the right spot. Maybe you can talk about it in the video if it's too complicated to reply with. Thanks!

That´s awesome! Well done!
thanks for your support mate ! it motivates me to keep working on blender.
I like that breakdown,makemore!
Wow incredible work! Subscribed
This is a nice animation but I think the jet should actually not only yaw (pivot) to the left but also roll to the left. This is because since the left engines are gone, you have a power differential which would also induce a roll since the right wing would be moving faster than the left which would also mean it wouldn't be producing as much lift. I know it's too late for this animation but hopefully this will help with future ones.
yea, indeed
Holy this is soo GOOD
god damn this should be seen by a lot more people, this is fucking IMPRESSIVE
Mind blowing bro
great job man

You're a beast.
1. awesome job! really enjoyed watching your progress in this project
2. what are your specs?
3. how did you setup blender to only render what's visible to the camera?
4. what do all the layers from 0:13 to 0:24 represent? some look like the models without shading and z-depth, but for example whats the thingy in the mid bottom at 0:13? do you need all these information?
hi !
1. thanks a lot !
2. i7 6800, 32 ram, Gtx 1080.
3. I'm sorry, i don't fully understand. maybe your talking about cycles properties in the object properties panel ? you can uncheck the box "camera" and your object won't appear at render but still cast some other ray like diff, gloss, volume, etc.. if you don't want it rendered at all you can uncheck the camera icon next to the object in the outliner. let me know :)
4. Those are render passes, you need them to comp your render and eventually refine some detail or adjust things post-rendering. The sequence in the mid bottom at 0:13 is vector pass( or so called velocity or motion depend of the render engine ), you can use it to motion blur your shot in your favorite compositing soft will speed up your render because you don't need to render Full 3D motion blur. But in the other hand for some specific things you better use Full3D motion blur.
Hope you have i answered your questions, i you need more ask me.
eaNiiX
3. This my compositing scene, there is no restricted rendering angle. You can see each render layer interacting with each other through the depth.
Albin MERLE thank you very much for your answers :) I was talking about the scene at 0:31 it looks like only the things that are visible to the camera are being rendered, I thought it might be a setting to reduce the render time :p
Thats really cool! it looks like its real!!!!!!!
Wooooow I love this one
this takes 2 years to complete. i just to say, nice!
Awsome ngl
