    I personally believe (and hope) that this teaser is made just to show off the effects and CGI, and that when we get the real trailer, we'll get to hear some of the dialogues between the characters and not only see the action.

      Agreed! That's my thought too, prob just trying to showcase the high budget effects and epicness, comedy might come later

    Avatar the last Airbender is one series that has characters that you love including the villains. As much as you hate Azula and her dad, it was nice that they stayed till the end. We needed the villains 😅

    There is only one thing I can say about all live actions that came and will come and Netflix... "at least its getting better."

      I don't know about "Getting Better". We're not yet sure if the One Piece live action is a fluke, or is a clear sign of Netflix live action adaptations getting better. Hopefully this is the one that cements the pattern that Netflix is getting better.

      Haha unfortunately true, they're getting there with One Piece but I still think they need to overhaul how they do action sequences, no more typical martial arts movie style fight scenes

    It is certainly possible that cutting the humor may have been the reason the original creators left the project. The trailer definitely had a more dramatic tone. You need balance -the humor made it more real. These were kids! 🤷‍♀️ easily looks better than the Shyamalan dumpster fire tho.

      To ease your worries, the humor will definitely be there. Not only is the Cabbage Merchant in it (and played my his original voice actor!) Iroh's actor said Sokka's actor is "so funny and going to steal every scene he's in".

    3:07 Looking in closer, I have a feeling that person coming down is Kyoshi. Maybe posessing Aang's body when the firebenders come to destroy Kyoshi Island? Also, they guy in the front of that scene walking down the road looks a bit like Zhao's actor?? I can't truly tell because of how quick the clip is, but I'm curious.

    Dude, they literally cast the cabbage man and they even got the same voice actor who did it in the cartoon. Will it be more serious than the cartoon? Of course, mostly out of necessity after all this is not going to be One Piece goofy, but it definitely isn't going to be overly serious like people are worried about. I think everyone talking about the tone of the trailer is missing the point that it's literally a teaser trailer with NO voice lines besides the narrator (who rumored to be monk Gyatso I think). It's not a trailer to show us what the characters and story are going to be like. A teaser trailer like this is almost purely to show us the visuals and the scope of the show. Once we get a proper full trailer, you will have voice lines, you will have character moments, you will have jokes and other things other than action. But disregarding the serious bits in favor of comedy in a first trailer would have been a misstep. They want people to see it as an epic fantasy adventure that happens to have comedy, not a comedy that happens to have fantasy elements.

    • @ghostofgames11
      @ghostofgames11  Před 7 měsíci

      Very true, and the cabbage man casting is extremely hopeful. Like I said, this is probably just to showcase the budget and cinematic, ultimately I'm pretty excited for it and hopeful, although Sokka be looking mad serious in some of those shots lmao but prob just for the tone of those scenes in particular

    Yeah I do have this convern too. Just think of Star Wars the original trilogy, it demonstrated that even a very serious story, can and must have some laughing moments, and I hope they don't go all dark and gloomy about it. A nitpick: A pity the waterbending tribe has no blue eyes as in the anime.

      Ahhhh true, yeah eye color is gonna be tough and I don't mind if they don't have features that look exactly like the characters...an example being Zuko's initial baldness with a ponytail...I just don't think it looks good on a human XD

    My biggest concern, and one of the problems with the previous movie, is that you're trying to cram an entire season into a single movie. You simply don't have the time to develop the characters over two hours as you do in twelve. Your concern about them making it serious is likely valid, because they don't have the time to hit that right balance between humor and drama without destroying the tonal feel of the piece, so they're probably going to be cutting out all the Nickelodeon style humor from the piece. They're also going to have to cut a lot of the character development side-stories because again, they simply won't have time. They also almost certainly won't have enough time to devote to Zuko, which is going to only cause further complications if they ever decide to do the second and third seasons.
    I hope I'm wrong, and I hope they'll prove my concerns unfounded. But I'm rather worried that I'm not.

      The original book one was around 260 minutes, the Netflix live action is around 280. They have even more time than the original, and EVEN more if they cut episodes like the great divide, which is quite likely.

    One of the first things the actor for Iroh or the actor for the firelord (I can't remember which of them) said about the show is that the show is funny. I feel like a lot of ppl doing reviews and breakdowns of the teaser haven't done proper research. They cast the cabbage man and it's the same actor who did the original voice. He's done interviews about it. I'm not saying to not worry at all because who knows the jokes may fall flat but there is a lot of info out from many sources stating that the show is attempting the lightheartedness of the og show and yet so many ppl are worried due to a teaser. Mind you this is not the official trailer. It is just a teaser. We haven't seen any of the acting yet. Again, just because they try to have humour doesn't mean it'll land but everyone saying they feel there'll be no humour based on this teaser sound silly to me. Do some research.
