Salute to the one man who made a difference of saving an endangered species
How about all the vegans that don't hurt anyone regardless of endangered status which has nothing to do with an individuals value?

@@DiahRhiaJones My gawd man, think of the kale!
Always a pleasure to see Sir David Attenborough.
This island is where my family is from. The island has such a strong change in recent years about turtles. Now they're so proud of their work.
These days I don't know too many families that eat turtle meat anymore.
@Jack Hillmen yes, it's actually two islands comprising one country. Both Trinidad and Tobago have laying beaches so there are conservation efforts on both.
@Jack Hillmen hello fellow pakistani. Great to see you here
Need to visit in they nesting season you will enjoy it we camp out at night just to see the nesting 🇹🇹🇹🇹
Pretty sure though that eating the turtle locally wasn''t / isn't the real issue...but pollution, dying in fishing nets etc....
“One person can’t make a difference.”
Len Peter’s: hold my beer.
Did you not see the guards patrolling in pairs?
It was a symbolic point I was making. He became determined to make a change and inspired others to do so. Literal thinking is a bummer, I’d avoid it as much as possible. Best wishes.

This man is a legend! His voice has always been so relaxing and reassuring no matter what situation he is in. Thank you for all you do, Sir David Attenborough!

True indeed
Stop this is so excessive for yt comments
It’s just so soothing been watching the documentaries since I was a kid haha
Lmao I thought this comment would be about the man ACTUALLY saving the turtles. Smdh
That turtle will tell the most epic story to his friends!
"Guys, you won't believe who I met!"
No, they won't believe he is still alive after meeting him, lol.
Thank you, Trinidad!
Just finished reading about a Turtle hunt in the Solomon Islands in 1920.
That was an indigenous population, however.
Creatures that mature slowly and live a hundred years need protection.
Like ripples in the ocean, we are learning to work with Nature, not against it.
native ppl are always good. even tho they hunt kangaroos, wallabies, whale, tortoise, sea turtle, etc.
it's the capitalism and people from the city that make it bad.
and for that island's case, these ppl are not the natives. they're africans and some are europeans. soo they do harm to the environment. natives always know their home. but not the foreigners.
the natives know their home because theyve been there for hundreds or even thousands of years.
africans obviously dont know about marine stuff. they're traditionally not the seafarers. it's austronesians, chinese/east asians, and scandinavians that traditionally seafarers.
but now thanks to scientific archives, now people from all regions can know lot of knowledges.
and btw,
humans need to control their population. now we need more than 1 earth to fulfil our 7billions and something population. almost 8 bils.
the exact number is... we need around 1.7 earth. overshoot day is in July. several days ago.

Beautifull animals and such a special moment to release a baby leatherback. Truly a dream!
And don't forget the wonderfull people who started all of this and help the turtles!
This reminds me of the days I used to rescue turtle eggs from crows.. oh the turtles.. wonderful creatures they are..!! 💙💙
Thanks Trinidad for doing your part
Sir David Attenborough should have the privilege to live forever and educate the world about nature forever aswell
Hell yes
He has become synonymous with nature documentaries, and for good reason.
Dont wish forever here on anybody
Man better get put on ice
Fuk that, let someone else have the job and retire already.
I sincerely thank the sea turtle rehabilitation staff for allowing new lives to increase the chances of survival, which is great....
First time I watched this I thought the sound at 00:30 after "as the sun sets..." was Sir David Attenborough... burping.
Instantly hit the spacebar and rewound...I was kinda disappointed to see the turtle's mouth moving along with the burp.
Give this man a medal, he deserves so much more for saving a species
Yay good work Len! The world needs more of you.
I love how the community came together and changed the way they were living so instead of hunting the turtles for meat they became the turtles advocates. We can change!
It's awesome to see a small community like this organize for an incredible cause, and truly make a difference.

This is a great pleasure to see Mr David Attenborough in our beautiful islands the rebulic of trinidad and tobago showing the world the interest that we are in conservation of these geart species 🇹🇹🇹🇹✌🏿
What will we do without you David, please keep teaching us how to take up the reigns.
The problem is that fools like you can’t think for themselves. It’s not hard to do your part to make sure you have a small carbon footprint and treat nature with respect.
God Bless him. Giving turtles a chance of not going extinct and for our next generation to be able to see them.
Your voice Sir, is always synonymous with nature, life and beauty. Thank you very much 🌏💙
I'm just one person, what change can I really make?
Well, Len is a great example that just one person can make enormous changes.
What an amazing community. They give me so much hope and pride. That dude is a hero. A real legitimate, decent and honest hero.
I’ve always loved this man! His voice got me through depression
My dear friend, for someone who has had at times depression and anxiety since my brother died 4 years ago, I can't tell you how much I feel for you. Take care, stay safe and know that there are people like David Attenborough which make the world a better place. He helps us to relax about life ❤️🌍
The difference 1 person can make ... impressive, beautiful.
So very moving. Bless all of you for making a difference. You are heroes ❤
Two things I'm grateful for, David Attenborough and conservation.
Possibly the greatest human to have ever lived, we love you Sir David Attenborough.
He did such a great job tackling all the problems he faced when he started protecting the turtles. He didn't just keep his neighbors from being able to eat, he found out what their troubles were and provided them jobs and tourism to make up for it. And with the next generation educated, he shouldn't have to worry much about poaching in the future. Amazing work, amazing man.
Literally crying. What a beautiful story about beautiful people and beautiful animals. It’s stories like this that give me hope for humanity and our planet. So thankful for the community of people and the brave young man for doing what is right
Great Story, the numbers increased rapidly after 20 years ! Best wishes to the savior 🙌

Absolutely awesome Wht this guy and his community have achieved you guys are real “MVPs” 🏆👊🏿❤️
As someone who has released baby sea turtles into the ocean, it is a magical and amazing thing. Knowing that my small contribution could have a massive benefit to these amazing animals is just a wonderful thing to know.
Inspiring story motivational for good for biodervisty preservation...
100m years on the planet and man has decimated them in less than 100 years
The turtle savior deserves a noble prize. Pretty much on his own, he saved an entire species and the locals.

Amazing conservation by these great people, would love the opportunity to do what they do!
Thank you all concerned with saving these turtles and thank God for Sir David Attenborough. Good luck little leatherback indeed!
I remember how proud I was that David Attenborough visited my home country of Trinidad and Tobago to shed light on wildlife that even I as a resident didn't know about. He has made several trips there over the decades to record both the flora and fauna of the island.
The title plus thumbnail really made me think about David has gone mad and this video is when they had to convince him to let a baby turtle go that he had taken hostage.
Fantastic as always 👍
Beautiful and tremendous!
