  • If you are looking to learn how to lock pick one of the methods to use is working with progressive locks. By Changing the number of pins that are inside a lock you can increase or decrease the difficulty to picking that lock. A two pin lock is much easier to pick than a five pin lock. A progressive lock set help you learn by providing locks that get progressively harder. This set includes a 2pin, 3pin, 4pin and 5 pin standard lock with Schlage Key way. Each lock is also laser engraved so that you can easily keep track of what pin configuration is inside. So you might ask why no 1 pin lock .... trust us you don't need it.
    Start at 2 pin. These locks are also designed to work with our reload pin kit so you can make them any configuration your wish - Even a 6 pin lock with security pins. The large size of the locks also lets you pick in hand or in a vise. What is important to notice is all the rotating components are covered by the brass shell so when you do use a vise everything will still rotate. This set of practice locks make a great addition and training tool for any of our lock pick sets.

    I've become a bit of a fan of Sparrows, and after building my custom dream lock pick set from Peterson I thought it was time to get more familiar with lock anatomy, so after drooling over Sparrows' site for some days trying to decide what shiny stuff to get next, I impulsively went for the reload kit, master key pinning kit, progressive locks, 120 mm pinning tweezers, aluminium plug followers, gut wrench and threw in an acrylic practice lock, check pins and some motel keys for the heck of it. The acrylic is going on the bookcase with some check pins in it. This is my big real jump into what I'm sure is the rabbit hole/money pit of lock sport. If I had any more money I would've probably hit up nearly everything in your inventory. I'll be back though... >;)

    Great upgrade to your progressive locks. Very nice looking case also. 👍👏 I have a lot of Sparrows products and they are excellent.

    The cut away with the check pins rocks. I need to repin it with the munitions pins.

    I bought one progressive lock set with all 4 locks 2-5 pins. If I were to buy a second set would the key passwords be different then the previous set I bought or identical? I'd like to buy another to practice on but don't want to end up buying the same set I just bought. I realise I could probably just re-pin them with different combinations. Just curious.

    I’m having trouble with the 4pin lock. I can’t get it open neither SPP nor raking it. Any tips you can give me? Thanks!

    I ordered the check pin cutaway like the day you put it on your page. (Thanks, Bosnianbill!) I like it: easy to hold and repin!
    I might buy the progressive set with my next order and just repin them to whatever. How do you get away with offering such great deals???
    I sound like a shill, but I swear I'm not.

    These, with the reload kit, have given me a full week of fun but now I'm sad. There are fit/finish issues like burrs, sharp edges, a warped follower, core caps punched off-center and the four colored keys offering more variety than difficulty but they've made me a better picker so I'll gladly to give them to my son who'll gain confidence with these locks that struggle to stay locked. I'm not really wanting the revolver any more after this experience but there's an "Ultimate Lock Picking Practice Lock" at learnlockpicking.com/ which seems pretty good; any feedback you guys can give me about it? It seems there's no substitute for an ever-growing lock collection.

    -Question
    Does this set contain the 4 locks (or just one?)as shown on your page : www.sparrowslockpicks.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=QPROLOK&CartID=3
    It seems like a great deal if it does! :)

    • @SparrowsLockPicks
      @SparrowsLockPicks  Před 6 lety +1

      For the Progressive locks you get 4 locks pinned 2,3,4,5. For the Cutaway locks you get one and you can choose standard, spool, serrated or check pins.

      Nope you need 5 or more punctuations at the end of a single word to qualify.
