After commenting "I'm going"... I went! The waiting line outside was long (~18 people) but the take-out service at the register inside was instant!👍 Back home it was very delicious, and due to the thick katsu there were left-overs that were still good after a light toasting to regain the crispiness. I will go back. Thank you for the video SugoUma,
i am heading there in september. can you please help me understand with the takeout - does that mean once you were inside after waiting in the line the take out was able to be ordered, or can you head in past the line for takeout and order without waiting? thank you!
@@luke-xz1gb Yes, you can skip past the people waiting in line and go straight inside to the small register on the left and order your take-out. I went back (again!) the other day and also got the katsu 'sando' (sandwich) that was very tasty.
@@nathanalgren5247 thank you!!!
You can’t really put a fitting price tag on something this special in my opinion. Looks so damn delicious
Why I decided to watch this when I'm fasting is beyond me, that looks so good🤤🤤🤤🤤
So great that you added English subtitles.
These people are like dancers, the preparation of food is like choreographed dance moves. Their focus on cleanliness, details and presentation is amazing to watch.
This is the real pork cutlet...I love Japanese Katsu don 🤤
Now that is what i call a meal, Love the Giant pork cutlet.
I just got back from Japan and went to Chiyomatsu while in Osaka. I'm going back in the fall and hit will definitely hit this place this place up.
i would absolutely not be able to finish this but I would love every second of eating it
Oh my god, I can almost feel the taste in my mouth looks sooo good
Watching this video at 11 pm while hungry is just pure torture 😂
For people said it’s pricey, from where I’m from, I’d say for that portion, it’s already cheap. If it’s here, it’d cost like $25 or something for a bowl.
25$ is way too much man even if the portion looks this big.
I’d pay $25 just to try it.

That looks so good. I really want to visit here if I can ever visit the country to try this
It's so nice to see gloves being used to handle meat!! So clean!!! We Appreciate your hard routine!!!!
I've never seen a pork cutlet this thick. It's really amazing.
Looks SO amazing. One of the cutlet bowls would feed me for 2 days. Well worth the price, a very reasonable price
Everything there looked great. It just kept getting better and better.
I was there last week. It was unbelievably delicious. It totally changes my mind about how good tonkatsu can be.
Oh I’m sure it would be delicious!
i;m sure uts would be bland.
Yummy 😋
@@Radhb y
absolutely
Wonder how much it cost now. 14 bucks seems like a great deal
Oh yes!--- looks like I have a new tonkatsu place to visit this week. Thanks for the heads up!
Gonna be in Tokyo in a few days. This place is surprisingly just two stations away from my accommodations.
Looking forward to eating here.
Hope you enjoy it!
If you go to the restaurant of this, please let me know what you think!
it’s fate!
@@sugoumajapanfood I will. I'll be in Tokyo in 30 hours. My hotel is at Morishita Sta. The katsu place is at Monzennakacho Sta.
@@sugoumajapanfood I just ate here. There was a 30 minute line. But it was worth it. They also have yuzu paste, wasabi paste, special shio, and tonkatsu sauce as condiments. It was worth it. I got the かつ丼(上) which was 300 grams. It was definitely worth the 1800円.
Got to say. For 13 and 18 dollars, that's a great deal for some tasty looking food!
Oh man, if I ever visit Japan, I am definitely coming here!
I just wanna say the quality and appearance of the pork, even when raw, looks top-notch. Beautifully pink, tender, clean white fat...so imagine how great it tastes cooked like that. I love Japan's food.
It looks delicious and I'd absolutely want to try it. I'm just always nervous with going into restaurants because my Japanese is elementary level and if I walk in there and they ask me something I didn't prepare for or don't know, I might as well just die
I hear that this restaurant is frequented by foreigners as well, so no worries!
I've gone to restaurants in japan where no one could speak english, knowing almost zero japanese myself, and comunicated purely with hand gestures. Just go.
@@sugoumajapanfood steals food 😂 😂 😂 😂
I wish to come to Japan someday 😋
Simplicity at its best
i think that this video is so amazing, congratulations!!
Looks so yummy, it's driving me crazy! 🤤
I know everyone jokes about America always having the largest food portions, but today Japan decided that they needed some time in the spotlight too. That pork is HUGE.
It's a special occasion instead of a daily diet
The difference as far as I'm aware is that in America, our "side dishes" are the size of the full meal of other nations, so this 300g pork cutlet is 10oz, served with a bowl of rice and 2-3 eggs, a hearty meal, but at an American steakhouse, you have a 12oz steak, a pile of mashed potatoes, pile of vegetables, and this is after a salad, some bread, and all before desert. Don't get me wrong I love katsu, I make a chicken katsu bowl that has half an onion per bowl that adds a nice sweetness to it.
but Americans really do do things big and we do them often. In Japan people have to work hard to get to Sumo weight, in America we have to work hard to not be at Sumo weight :)
you should totally learn to make katsu yourself, it's remarkably easy once you try it out czcams.com/video/ZfF7yTbc4fY/video.html
Just put this place on my list of places to go when I travel to Tokyo for my first time in a few weeks.
I am literally waiting in line to get in now!
There is one near Shin-Matsuda Station in Kanagawa Prefecture, but I ordered the "extreme thickness" and ate it, but I left 3 slices. I was very satisfied with the Tupperware for takeout. The sandwich was also excellent. It's officially a grilled cutlet bowl.
no wonder japanese are known to be respectful! I'.d be saying Arigatou per bite XD
Japan is on my bucket list.
And now this restaurant is too
Absolutely delicious!!!
I gotta say that this makes me hungry!
There's a couple of things regarding the sandwiches though...
To begin, I was under the impression that Japanese had crustless bread so I was sorta surprised to see them cutting off the crusts. Secondly, when the crust is cut off, some of the meat is also cut off. Do they reuse the meat scraps or simply dispose of them?
I think dispose unless the employees want free bites. There can't be anything else on the menu that use them.
can't wait to try it!!!
Looks amazing and delicious 😋
If the place is near my home I would buy the bento every single day
Looks so good 👍 😍 😋...take me to Japan 😟😜😃🥰...guys no joke you have yummy food 😋 😊 😜 😀
Hello SugoUma Japan! I must say, your video showcasing "Tonkatsu Marushichi," the restaurant with the most giant pork cutlet bowl in Japan, is absolutely amazing. The size of that Katsu-don is truly impressive! I can understand why it has garnered over 2 million views. The presentation and the quality of the dish look top-notch. Your channel provides a fantastic glimpse into the world of Japanese food. Thank you for sharing this extraordinary culinary experience with us. One of the few things I wanna try when/if I ever go to Japan!
just make it yourself its not that hard..
@@drivablenote3468 fundamentally its not complex, but to achieve the quality of ingredients, the execution, and doing all of it without a proper deep fryer? I think your comment is really missing the point!
you are right, but sadly not everyone can travel to Japan, so they just have to try and cook this in their own places.@@MrChewymentos
Great job on the video and the food looks good I’m trying to make it at home what is the breading you using and the sauce at the end please and thank you..
"big" in Japan certainly is something else than big in Vienna-for a Schnitzel.
In Vienna a normal sized Schnitzel overlaps your dinner plate, but there are also XXL versions of that.
Looks insane!
Oh yum! I want some!
Anywhere in NZ doing something similar?
god dayum, that looks like it will energize me for the whole day. Looks good.

Damn it. I'm in love with Japan since I had in school a great japanise friend. but how clean everything is whatever food, industry, streets...that is something that I envy badly
Living in Japan for an extended period as a foreigner kinda sucks.. Japan has great food and culture, but, their culture is just so much different and honestly the quality of life in Japan is bad. Probably why the birth rate is soo low. They all work themselves to death and everything is too strict. Its not all great like it appears to be online.. I lived in Japan for 6 years. It gets old fast. No lie, I responded to a crisis call in my complex, and a man had died in his chair drawing Manga with his pen still in his hand. Literally worked himself to death. His friends told me he was super stressed about an upcoming deadline, and had lost 20lbs in 3 weeks while working 18 hours a day.
As you rightly pointed out, it is difficult to sustain living in Japan for a long period of time. The number of affluent individuals relocating abroad is increasing, and there are also many Japanese people being encouraged to leave the country. As it stands now, Japan is facing challenges. I hope that Japan becomes a more livable place.
@@JonHop1very true, however, the culture? Many people might not get used to the culture, but its perfect for me atleast.
and the quality of life? Its not that bad for me at the very least. It all depends on the person.
And Yes it is overly strict, as quick tip don't work for black companies (which is very hard to know which one is a black company). You will overwork yourself..
@@joandro its subjective bud.. ur experience isnt defining alone, that is why I am speaking on a broader perspective as I am in the Military and was stationed in Japan for a long time, so I know how all my comrades felt when living here. So I am pooling all the experiences on average from a foreigners perspective(well a westerners perspective)

FAKE infomation

I need more than one day to finish so much egg and pork. It's amazing that an average Japanese eats so much meat as a meal.
this is standard portion tho
The average Japanese person eats very little. Not many people can eat this pork cutlet by themselves.
