    Have owned my 335d F31 for 2 years now, covering 42k trouble free miles in that time. Mix between City and Motorway I’ve averaged 33mpg over the 2 years (quite a heavy foot I will admit). Genuinely does put a smile on my face every single day without fail. Still feels as though I only just bought it.. Highly recommend it to anyone contemplating one.

    i love it when someone is honest about bmw reliabiliity. they get so much bad rep from the people who buy them cheap on high mileage and abuse them daily and dont service them. its just like you said - if you service them and look after them they are reliable. ive got a manual 220d, its a 2017 but got it december 2022 with 15k miles on it, its now on 36k and soaked up those miles issue free, but is stuck mostly doing town driving while im studying; however, once im finished it'll most likely be doing something like 40k miles a year, and its such a good comfortable car for it. something like an m340d is on my radar for when it eventually gets replaced in probably about 4 years time

      435d is boring af to drive, you don't even feel the speed because of how well refined it is - for the same money look at a 435i/440i/335i/340i or M140i. Might not be as torquey but are waaay more fun to drive and actually make a decent sound too. Power delivery is everything, and these diesels are just too smooth to put a smile on your face.

    • @reddragon1572
      @reddragon1572 Před 5 měsíci +2

      I have the 335d x drive. It is honestly a superb car. If you want rwd, all you have to do is flick it a bit and plant and it will slide with the torque. Not that I do this mind, but I know it can l, if provoked. Especially in wet conditions. It's traction in the wet still amazes me. It will also do under 11s to 100mph, which not so long ago was regarded as quick. Overtaking is a joke. Had people try and accelerate once I am passing them but not once had anyone succeeded with this shitty move in 3 years. Zf8 is smooth as silk. Engine sounds decent for a diesel too. Long journeys at 70mph will see you 50+mpg. If BMW made the m340d with a noticeable jump in performance, I would be getting one, but I fancy the m340i once I am in the position to change mine. The only thing I don't like are the brakes. They ideally could do with a better set up. Or and no way does it have only 313bhp, must be at least 340

  • @BigUriel
    @BigUriel Před 3 měsíci +1

    You keep talking about how this will "easily" do over 50mpg but that's just dreaming. I've never known anyone with any BMW 6 cylinder Diesel to get 40mpg as an overall average, yeah you can get 40+ on a run with cruise control set to 70 or less but you won't see 50 at over 60mph and that's with the engine and gearbox nice and warm, on cold starts these engines will be doing more like 20mpg. That's something people don't consider when buying a car with a big Diesel engine, it takes ages to warm up and until it does it's using just as much fuel as a petrol.
    Fuel consumption is good relative to the performance on tap but nobody in their right mind will buy this car to cruise at 60mph all day when you can do that with a 1.6 and *actually* get 50+mpg easily, not to mention that it might be good on fuel but won't be a cheap car to maintain overall.

      Yes well said. Around town my 330D does about 30mpg, it only goes over 40mpg if the drive is over 20 minutes with very little traffic. I've only seen it do 50mpg when doing 50mph in a controlled speed zone.
