I have this shape 2014 but 520d only coverd 80k miles. Still looks drives like new. F10 is such an underrated car you don’t see many compared to the 3 series but it’s just perfect all rounder

I had a 2016 530d m sport. Absolutely loved it. Wish I'd kept it. Now have an M440i and I'd go back to that 5 series hands down, even though it was heavier and slower.
Not sure why people worry about 100k plus on a quality ca. My European friends don't think this is huge mileage, they drive across countries so mileage isn't an issue there.

Makes the market better for those of us who prefer to buy very well maintained high mileage cars. Still have my 172k 335D which had full bmw service history and only 1 previous owner 😍.

Great video. I'm on my 4th 5 series.. had a 530D and the others 520Ds... tried other cars in between and keep coming back to them. The F10's have just everything you'd need.

You’re right. Truly boils down to the owner and how she was looked after. I had a W211 E240 and it did 200,000kms before I had to let her go. Every six months she was always on Liquimoly Leichtlauf Hightec 5w40 plus Ceratec. And I always use Shell / BP 95 😊

I own the pre facelift from 2011 with a stage 1 map software only. It really is the perfect all rounder.
Maintenance is key and a little on the pricey side, but they will treat you well in the long run.
The headlight seals almost always fail north of 10 years old. If you're not good at DIY, that's £1k+ per side for a new unit)
Rocker cover gaskets always fail north of 100k (£500 job for injector gasket, new rocker cover and gasket)
Timing chains may or may not fail around 150k onwards, or even sooner with poor oil intervals. (£1200-£1500 job)
Aux belt and tensioners will need doing around 120k. (£400-500 job)
At this milage, suspension related parts may need work too so be concious of that, check MOT history to determine if its been done etc. springs are about £70 each corner and struts are £180+ each corner, control arms are around £100 each part. Ball joints are about £50. (Autodoc prices but OEM parts)
Tyres can be about £150 for fronts and rears can be about £180. (Staggered)
New battery is about £200 fitted and coded

im very impressed at that steering wheel too. ive noticed these f gen m sport wheels wear really bad. my 2017 220d is on just shy of 39k and looks pretty rough to the point where im considering a retrim, but dont want to lose the heated wheel. you can tell bmws are built to last in this f generation though

I've had a F-series 4 series and 5 series and noticed this too. They're super nice wheels when kept nice, but when trawling autotrader you do notice some wheels look really rough despite being low miles.
