  • NOTICE! In this video I refer to the technique stippling--but using colored pencils to color an image with dots is actually closer to POINTILLISM.
    Stippling is creating an image with dots...SO--with colored pencils you can do BOTH.

    The cross-hatched carrot does have a very cool stylized look. The bunny's teeth on the burnished carrot cracks me up! Love this page!

    Another great video. I'm always recommending your videos on FB when people ask questions on how to do things. You have a gentle voice and a way great way of explaining so many techniques. I'm always going back to the bokeh video to remind myself how to do it!!

      Thank you so much Lora! I really appreciate it. xo I am going to do another bokey vid with a dark background and yellow circles like you would see in a nighttime reflection.

      Fabulous! I need to see that for sure. Both times I've done background it's been pale so a nighttime one would be perfect!

      Dea Lenihan Are Stippling & Pointillism the same technique? I just finished a Pointillism exercise, using super fine tipped markers.

    • @DeaLenihan
      @DeaLenihan  Před 6 lety

      Pointillism is actually more like what I did in the video. It's using colors and stippling is forming an image.

    What is your favorite colored pencil

    • @DeaLenihan
      @DeaLenihan  Před 3 lety

      Interesting question! Depends on what I am doing. If I am doing a portrait I like luminance. For botanicals I like Polychromos. For coloring I like to jump around and try--lately I like Castle Art--they do not have as much pigment as Plys or Prismas--but almost nothing does, but they are cheap and great! what brand of color pencils do you use

    • @DeaLenihan
      @DeaLenihan  Před 6 lety +3

      My favorites are Polychromos. I also love Prismacolors. A few other sets I have liked and reviewed are Bayland, Heros, Pablos, and Feelas. I've got a playlist where I compare if you'd like to check it out: czcams.com/play/PLJKTWpW8n3iuK6fQ7tl7GFCys5Bi0FVER.html
