No way dude. These are one of those godly videos you came across ever so often which is just really simple but extremely helpful. I knew there was an easy way to do this. Thank you so much for this!
I will record Kevin's voice instead of music. Your voice is just so clear and easy to understand. Audacity and OBS are probably the best free apps out there that do almost everything you want it to do. The only Window that I will never close is the Windows operating system. Great video.
So far I’m sure they will start charging sooner than later
But if you use Obs it'll convert into a clip where sound is played so it isn't actually a recording?
Lifesaver!!! Amazing. First option worked. Didn't have "voice recorder" application but I do have "audacity". Put headphones on and voila! Magnificent! Thank you!
Stunning Thumbnail Kevin! I thought this needed third-party software, to record the audio then import the audio, and trimming it to get the final result. But you've made it so easy! Enjoyed the video, thank you so much, Kevin!
its edited.
its amazing that i have to look up how to record sounds on my pc considering i have been doing it no problem 15 years ago, devolution in full force
Thanks Kevin. I installed Audacity on my system years ago but forgot how to use it. I was almost going to uninstall it a few months ago but thank god i waited for a bit! Seeing this your video i made my first recording with Audacity! Tnx
Great work Kevin
You always have the best tutorials
Wow! Amazing video Kevin! I never heard of VB Audio before! 😁 Thanks for sharing it Kevin! 😊😎
I did try your first suggestion before but I did not get the sound. I watched your video and now IT WORKS. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Thank you for such clear explanations too. Some YTers jump around and it is hard to follow.
Configuring StereoMix on Windows 10 looks completely different on my PC than shown here. Your tutorials are excellent so I hate to ask you to do more work. While most of us are sticking with or can't upgrade to Win11 we need both the Win10 and Win11 versions when changes need to be made using Setings. Keep up the excellent tutorials, always clear and easy to follow. Thanks.
Neil Muller I was considering saying the same thing. I really appreciate Kevin's work! But ... finding these features within these two operating systems is a completely different experience for me as well, as I am also on Windows 10 still.
I had to update my audio driver in device manager to fix mine.
Because it's not Windows 10, he's using Windows *11*
@@AmodeusR You really just read the first sentence and ignored the rest huh
@@tyrant351 Well... If it's like a job for the video's creator, sure. But most of time people are doing such things just because they want/like, so in the end it's *us* that should search in another place. I'm sure there are other videos in Windows 10 or even 7 if it's the case, or even text explanation.
Once again you have presented a clear and concise video. I went with Audacity. Thank you.
Opting for audacity as the sound card configuration on windows I was on at the time didnt support the first option and settled on that. Audacity is a fantastic tool as is this video a brilliant one. Thanks for your excellent contributions to the interwebs Kevin, your a star.
Many thanks, Kevin - you are a lifesaver. I downloaded a third party program which had no guidance on how to record! You made it simple to do with Windows itself!
Very nifty tips on straightforward simple recordings of sound. Thanks!
Whenever I have a problem or need to accomplish something on my computer, you always come up with a solution! I really appreciate your help, Kevin, and thank you for sharing such a helpful video.
he literally a npc he don't know shit bout computers
Never heard of vb audio. Really great tutorial Kevin! I usually use audacity so this was exciting to see alternatives as well :)
Thank you for posting this! I had no clue there was a voice recorder included. Steps to activate were easy to follow.
This is FANTASTIC!! I already had Audacity on my system and I went with that. I have videos that people have sent me where they are really just people talking. I want to be able to listen while I walk the dogs and now I can. Thank you SOOOOOOOO much!!!
You are such a gift to us. Thank you for all you do.
Wow, Thanks a ton. I was looking for how to record just the audio of a CZcams video other than downloading and trimming and you have given me three of the best approaches, Kevin. I know about Audacity and I have watched your tutorial but I haven't downloaded it yet. I didn't know about VB audio at all. Thanks again and I'm also wrapping up on this comment.
Can you record with dac 24 bit 192 hz
Thanks for the tutorial! This will increase my productivity considerably for my study sessions.
Thank you. Been having the worst time trying got make stereo mix work on new Windows 11 device. Installed Realtek codec which fixed the issue but this then stopped my headphones from working properly. This is a nice simple work-around.
Thank you so much for these tips, I used the last option and it worked flawlessly.
Subbed..This was a Godsend. I have spent a little over a month trying to figure out the easiest way to do this. Thank you so much
Your voice is sick. Never heard anyone's voice more clearer and understandable. Awesome! Thank you so much for all the videos you share, especially your tutorials. You are one awesome person!
Thank you very much! i was able to resolve the problem of not recording my laptop audio. i thought i needed to troubleshoot. and your voice is very clear when i test recorded.Thank you! :)
Thanks, Kevin!! You have solved a long-standing problem for me!!
LIFE SAVER TYSM YOU GUIDE ME THROUGH EVERYTHING

I have a macbook. Does this work on it too?
For once, a clear and helpful tutorial. Subscribed.
Great video. I used the method for recording CZcams audio using Audacity and it worked perfectly. I have been looking for how to do this for a long time. Your video is easy to understand. Thanks for doing this.
Great video. Thank you so much and straight to the point ❤
I was knowing two of them but never heard of VB-Audio, it's also a good alternative. Thanks for the video + amazing thumbnail. Well, please make a video on thumbnail editing i.e, photo editing :-)
Kevin thank you, extremely helpful! The first option worked fine. 😁
Would you suggest OBS(Studio) Player as an equal competitor to the previous ones, especially, Audacity?
Super useful! Thanks a lot!
Amazing Tutorial Kevin! Keep it up! As usual, I learned a LOT of new things! 😃😄🙂
Kevin's videos are info-packed. Every second is vital.
@@Ryuzaki2100 Always! 😃
Very clear instructions thanks! In the first method do you have to change the audio settings back when you're finished recording?
Excellent video. I learnt a lot.
Nevermind I just set the input device as my headset (playback) and that worked ! Thank you
Great video, thanks! I have one question though. Does anyone know if any of these 3 methods records the digital stream directly, or is the music converted to analog audio through the DAC, then back to digital again, probably with sound loss? Thanks in advance.
Thank you so much for this very helpful tutorial!
Thanks so much. The steps in the first 2 minutes solved it for me. I have an old program recording (Cool Edit 2000) and it connected so easily once you told me what to do.
This is THE video I was looking for ! Thanks so much !!!
Thank you. Option 1 worked perfectly.
Thank you. I was about to install 3rd party software but your tutorial saved me from doing excess work. I really appreciate it.

Knew a few ways, but you told me new. Thanks
Absolutely brilliant. Thanks for the advice.
Hey Kevin
Just wanna sck
Csn the windows voice recorder pick the audio from my mic as well as the street.mix audio ?
Thanks for another great video. I have tried the first to methods. Works very well. But the volume of the sound is much lower than what I am hearing while recording the sound.
I have set the stereo mix volume to 100%
the BEST as always super helpful thank you so much!!!
Very useful. Thanks.
Thanks! It really worked.
That was a great tip! Thanks!!
Hi Kevin! I hope all is well with you. I am watching your videos to find a way to trim the audios, to trim them, it seems the new version of sound recorder is much different. Do you have any video showing what can be done atm? Thanks
