One note regarding the transcription: Audacity 3.5 will add the ability to export them as SRT and WebVTT subtitle files, too - which means you'll be able to upload them as subtitles straight to CZcams and other places!
We'll make these tools easier to install in the near future!
That's a great point! Audacity's upcoming feature to export transcriptions as SRT and WebVTT subtitles will be epic!
When is that out?
please add this tool as default
is this only for intel based pc's? how about macOS?
Would be nice for an AI voice to read what I write (or transcribe from my own words). Choose M/F, young/old, accents, etc. Thanks, for what you've done, though. Awesome job!
4:09 my naked bike ride pics 😭😭you earned yourself a sub with that one 🤣
Thank you for your support! 🚴♂️🩲
You saw that too. We demand a new video!
Contains only one picture: the original cover art for Queen's Bicycle Race / Fat Bottomed Girls
We would like to know the next video you are doing regarding the bikes.... ty@@MikeRussell
lol that made my day
dude, you have an eye of a hawk...
Glad you're enjoying them @MikeRussell! Thanks for the video! We'll be improving the installation process quite soon, so users can install them from within Audacity and won't need to do so much dragging around.
Thanks Martin - stellar job. Looking forward to the streamlined installation process for these amazing AI audio tools in Audacity! Oh, and Mac too please?
@@MikeRussell Unfortunately, Intel didn't make these with MacOS in mind. They only work on Linux and Windows. That's really their call and not within my ability to control :(
Perhaps send them a request? I know they've seen this video :)
@@Tantacrulbrilliant, I’ve reached out on LinkedIn. Would love to connect further.
Ai music is far better now. I even create my new channel to upload the music created by ai
Yo Tantacrul love your channel!!!
Works great. I interviewed young woman to clients video on a street and it really removed ALL the background noise away. Amazing.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the AI audio tools - it's truly incredible how they can enhance your audio recordings!
Very useful plug ins, in particular transcriptions. I often listen to videos in foreign languages and that was a great help to get the transcripts totally free ! It worked like a charm for me. Thank you so much again !
I'm thrilled to hear that the transcriptions plugin was helpful for you in accessing foreign language content - so glad you found it useful!
Yeah this is great - I got up in the middle of the night when I watched this - grabbed these tools and tried this one some old band demos and WOW - time for the remix I never got a chance to do in 2006! Thank you!💥
That's amazing to hear! I'm thrilled that you found the tools helpful and that they've inspired you to revisit your old band demos - looking forward to hearing the remix! 🎶
Exactly! Pure awesome
Wow! This is quite the find! I'll be utilizing these tools, for sure! Thanks for the vid, Mike! VERY informative!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm thrilled you found the video informative and hope these AI audio tools take your projects to the next level!
Hi, Mike - first, deeply appreciate the level of clarity, detail and thoroughness you’ve put into this, alongside the hands-on examples. It’s a top-grade video. Anyway, a question (I’m new to your channel so bear with me just a bit)… I wonder if you’d have any thoughts or suggestions on (programs for) more complex audio-e.g., with unwanted noise from multiple sources. Example: I used to cue up the music tracks for community plays, and the audio recordings of the shows would capture everything from music to dialogue to muffled audience chatter-and more than a few “sound effects” like from phones chiming. In other words, kind of a “multi-car pileup” of noises. Forgive my verbose post; but do you have any thoughts on audio separation when it’s intermittently so jumbled? Thanks for any thoughts you may have.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and I'm glad you found the video helpful! For handling complex audio with unwanted noise from multiple sources like in community plays, I'd recommend using tools like iZotope RX Advanced for advanced noise reduction and audio restoration. Hope this helps!
Hey Mike, thanks for sharing this with us...much appreciated sir!!
Thanks for watching!
This is totally IN-SANE!!! Thank you Mike and thank you to whomever developed these plug-ins!!!
I'm glad you found the video helpful! The developers behind these incredible AI audio tools truly deserve all the credit.
"Whomever" is a made-up word to confuse students.
"IN-SANE or INSANE" Adjective: A crutch word used by millions of people with limited vocabularies accompanied by their inability to speak beyond Sophomore level.
@@45rpmdiscoveries I'm so sorry you didn't understand that I was attempting to speak in the common vernacular as a jest...a sort of "play on words" if you will. Perhaps you should attempt to expand your horizons beyond your mother's basement.
@@MikeRussell Yes, but YOU are the guy who took the time to do this video and spread the word. Gotta show some love to you for that!
Thanks, Mike, your generosity with guides and explanations is amazing, as usual. Thank you for your passion to teach others!💯💙💙
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Oh my wonderful word! Thank you for bringing the exciting news! I really like the novel beats that AI generates in your video. AI has a much easier time creating intricate polyrhythms. I can't wait to see how performances and preformed music will both continue to evolve with this technology which allows many more people much greater access to music production.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and are excited about the possibilities!
The transcribing tool is going to save me so much time, thank you for sharing.
I'm so glad to hear that the transcribing tool is helping you save time. Super!
@@MikeRussellI make a lot of iphone voice memos when I'm out and about. This is going to be such a game changer
Awesome! Thanks for trying them out!
Thank you for appreciating my work; it was great fun exploring these free AI audio tools.
Tanks for this video.
I'm using a lot AI for image generation (and some animations) but was totally noob with using AI in audio.
I'm glad you found the video helpful in exploring AI tools for audio production - there's so much you can do with them!
Thank you for this video Mike. I use audacity for all my sampling and this made it GOLDEN.
You're welcome! I'm glad you found the video helpful in elevating your Audacity sampling game!
These are brilliant. Liked and subscribed.
Thank you so much for the support, I'm glad you found the video helpful!
Incredible, the ability to separate audio into vocals and instrument tracks
I'm glad you found it incredible!
😂
The E-mu / Creative Emulator X3 (VST sampler plug-in) from 20 years ago had an early version of this feature. OK, so, it was much less effective and only really usable if you were going to use the resulting vocal track over another backing track to mask the loss of fidelity.
I believe that Serato Stems now does multi-track stem extraction *in realtime*. I haven't tried it myself though.
the ability ??? with no hability .... lol
ultimate vocal remover is also pretty good but is an independent software not a plug-in.
Thanks for the video, very cool tools, I tried the vocal/instrumental separation, and it works very well (only in CPU mode for me).
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and found the vocal/instrumental separation tool helpful, even in CPU mode!
I'm excited to try it out on a bunch of live concerts I've been recording & collecting for over 40 years now and some of them have a lot of noise from the tape sources and the number of generations that I would love to clean up the excessive crowd noise if at all possible. We'll see!
Let us know the results of your tests! Clearly it's not the state of the art of noise canceling, now. But give it a few years, and I bet the results will be far more advanced, considering how fast AI updates/improvements are.
That sounds like an incredible collection! I'm sure these AI audio tools will help you restore and enhance those live concert recordings with ease. Can't wait to hear the results!

Wow! these tools are great, just playing with the Audacity plugins and this is pretty good and for free! Thank you sir! 🙌
I'm glad you're enjoying the Audacity plugins!
Great content. I'm disappointed however that there isn't a MacOS version. Guess I could push through my wall of resistance and install Windows.
I'm glad you enjoyed the content! Let’s message the Audacity devs and ask for Mac. The more that ask the more likely it will happen!
Don’t bother , windows still crap for music , I have 2011 MacBooks that blow windows away ( max ram and ssd’s)
This is amazing Mike. Thank you so much for this vid tutorial. Super helpful.

HEY ADOBE! AU-DI-TION NEEDS TRANSCRIBE! Bloody heck! Audition = audio = possibly vocals = need for transcription! Done it in Premiere, and they've managed it in Audacity.
Great video Mike! 💯 Thanks a bunch.
Thank you for your feedback!
"my naked bike ride pics" 😂😂😂
Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
A whole new generation of crappy game music coming.
I’m sure the plugin will imporve for music generation.
You want to go after gamers? Now? Bro just keep your head down. Just for a moment till the war blows over.
😂
You won't be able to tell in a few years
This video terrible bro theres a guy leaking actual shit that isnt AI, he leaked da got that dopes email, audio school material, how to get a song with yeat, look up alexmadeit
Just found this video, very interesting! They have indeed changed the install method since this went up - now you choose which models you want to install locally and it just does it. Saying that, they're pretty big (like in the Gigs rather than Megs), but it tells you in advance how much space they're going to take up.
That's great to hear! It's awesome to see how advancements in AI audio tools are making installation more user friendly and transparent about storage requirements.
Audacity is the dark horse here in the AI audio race! Who do you think will win the race? Adobe, Davinci, Audacity or something else?
There's a couple of others not in the list. UVR5 is probably the most powerful free AI tool at the moment imo. Geared towards source separation, audio restoration, noise removal, vocal isolation. Not widely discussed at all and I think a lot of that is because you probably have to be both on PC and have a close eye on the Audio Separation community to be aware it exists.
windows sound recorder! jk awesome tools thanks for sharing.
@@SamHocking Wow! I was using a different one I found last year that was amazing at separating the vocals with clarity. But UVR5 is a step on that and absolutely free. Thanks for the suggestion!
You didn't mention it anywhere in the video but the tool is Windows only. OpenVino is NOT available for Mac.
@@IamDJADM Who cares 🙂
For Christ’s sake, everything is ‘amazing’, ‘incredible’, ‘astonishing’, ‘insane’, dial it down a little, matey, that’s how you make words eventually meaningless.
Understood, it’s incredible that you have taken the time to let me know this. You’re amazing ✨
@@MikeRussellHe’s not wrong and you’re not funny
And if the video would be 10 years old, those words would have been fitting. 😅
Agreed, it is nice though to finally have these tools available locally for no cost.
Seeing guys with 2 subscribers (or less) on CZcams telling a guy with 320,000 subscribers how to make videos will NEVER cease to entertain me.
This is really awesome, Mike. Will test it out asap.
I'm glad you found it helpful! Let me know how it goes when you try them out.
Really blown away, especially since Audacity has been a favorite sound editor for years. Subbed!
Thank you for your kind words! It's great to hear that you found value in the video and have subscribed.
AI and music do not mix. If you believe otherwise, you're a hack.
you've been left in the dust .
It's already mixing and happening. Much like synthesis in the 70s, midi in the 80s, samplers in the 90s etc, AI will simply become another music tool, nothing to be worried about, things will just morph into new possibilities and the music streaming services will still pay you almost nothing ; )
I think AI can augment a musician’s skills.
Thanks for your suggestion, and even your english accent. I understood you perfectly.
Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you found the video helpful and enjoyed my English accent!
Thank you for all your massive, long time work for us Mike..It is very much appreciate4d

I'm glad you found the new AI audio tools intriguing! If you've been using Audacity for a while, these tools could definitely enhance your recording experience even more.
To make my "instrumental/karaoke" tracks out of my music tracks, I had to go online so far... but now I can do it offline! 😁 Also I used HappyScribe to transcript audio, which is obviously more advanced, but this plugin does a pretty good job! Thanks Mike & the guys around this Audacity AI tools project! 👏🏻
That's awesome to hear!
Hey Mike. Just a quicky to say thanks for this: Ive just started a project to transfer ancient cassette tapes to my PC - I used to be a pro guitarist in the 70's and have loads of jams and demos etc recorded on cassettes mostly over-modulated. These AI plugins should allow me to clean up the sounds considerably. Research needed, much thanks :-)
Hey, I'm so glad you found the video helpful! Excited for you to rescue those vintage recordings and bring them back to life with AI magic!
Good to see Audacity still around after 2 decades, I moved away from using it though as I required more in an audio editing app for my studio setup.
Good video.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found Audacity familiar!
Definitely a good starting point. It will be interesting to see how this develops over time.
I'm glad you found it helpful! Stay tuned for more updates on the latest AI audio tools.
For homebrew stuff not for publishing, I can imagine people making their own karaoke versions of their favorite popular songs, or extending their favorite songs to 10 minutes or 30 minutes, or just creating instrumentals of their favorites without lyrics to distract. For example, I just split "The Lady in Red" by Chris de Burgh (1986) into vocals and instruments, and played the instruments just to give a *mood*.
That's a fantastic use case for experimenting.
Wonderful! Thanks so much for letting us know about it..

I will be trying this with my microphone at some point as I have a new microphone coming so hopefully it works well with that if required.
I did try it on some old music which was cassette recordings that have been ripped to mp3 and it absolutely destroys the files, so much so that you are better using the normal plugins for music.

I was going to use it for making karaoke tracks and maybe even giving me the lyrics from the separated vocal tracks. But, the vocal removal took out the backup singers. UVR5 give you a option by using different types of removals. As for the lyrics...eh it doesn't do well with Country music's accents. :) But I'll keep it in Audacity as it might be useful at some point or improvements I'm sure will be made.
Thanks for sharing your experience! It's great to hear how you're experimenting with different tools for your karaoke tracks.
Hi Mike, great show. In a short while these tools will be better, but will the music be better? The source material Martin uses has frenetic qualities, but does it have vitality? The listener will have to decide, but will it be enough to engage Life? The soul will keep searching for it.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I can certainly see music generation getting better with time. Just look at what a tool like Suno can already do!

Is there one that will split off tracks for each different voice when there are multiple speakers? That could be a help if you want to suppress background speech to make a particular speaker easier to hear, or if the levels for each speaker varied too much in the original recording.
Yes, there are AI tools like Descript and Cleanfeed that can help with splitting tracks for different voices, allowing you to enhance specific speakers and manage varying levels in multi-speaker recordings effectively.

video suggestion: i have been informed that batch processing is already available with Audacity. It is in Tools->Macro Manager. I would sure like to see you do a video that shows exactly how to use this facility to batch process several audio .mp3 files with OpenVINO Noise Suppression followed up with OpenVINO Whisper Transcription of these same files. apparently in Macro Manager you can program your batch process to first do noise suppression followed by transcription then export: 1,2,3. Love to see your video of this. thanks.
Batch processing with Audacity? Sounds like a job for the audio wizards!
@@MikeRussell Yes. I'm afraid it is. Until then, I have come up with a work-around. i will merge many .mp3 files then just transcribe this multi-merged .mp3 file. I've tried it merging 10 .mp3 files and it worked perfectly. I will now go up to 200 .mp3 files. this should get me through my 10,000+ memo .mp3 files in a reasonable amount of time. Audacity 3.4.2 already can merge multiple .mp3 files. you don't need to download and install anything else whatsoever. this pretty much ends this thread. cheers.

Hi, YT algorithm got me here and very enjoyable it was 👍. I've just subscribed in the hope that you may have similar type audio tricks in your other vids and so I'm off to trawl through them. You've got me re-thinking about stuff I'd (sort of) giving up on and so I'll ask you if that's ok......I'm only a dabbler and do tinker with audacity and I'm also a cheapskate I suppose but is there anything 'free' that can 1. transcribe music into sheet music or 2. Pitch adjust for whole tracks in real time? 🙂👍
Thank you so much for subscribing and joining the journey! I'm not too sure on transcribing music to sheet music but a VST plugin like GSnap would be good for real time pitch adjustment on a budget.
@@MikeRussell brill, I'll look it up 👍
@@stuffoflardohfortheloveof I tried using GSnap with 3.4.2 but it does not seem to work. If you need GSnap you need to use an older version of Audacity.(2.x) And if you do that then everything mentioned in this video will not work.
