  • Thanks for watching! 😊
It was a warm day and the water level of our duck pond was low, so I decided to brave the muddy muck, wade in as far as I could into the silt, and try to remove the last of the dried up cattails from last year. Pond Maintenance can be fun, sometimes. There were also a lot of dead branches at the edge of the pond, overgrown bushes overhanging the edge of the pond, and they were stuck in the mud. Of course, half of them had thorns! Glad I had my mud boots because that muck was thick. I did get sucked in and my rubber boots got stuck in the mud a few times. Trying to remove the cattails, I wasn't able to pull them out by the roots. I think I got ONE. The "how to remove cattails" videos on Google and CZcams make it sound so simple... Yeah it's not in reality. 🤪 Anyway, overall I got 3/4 of all the old dried up cattails in that area of the pond and made a little hidey hole tunnel for the ducks under the overhanging branches. 🦆

Nice job, the pond looks cleaner now. Mud makes it harder, though. Boots makes it a bit better, waders are till your thighs or waists.
