  • This is always a fun shape to throw! Hoping this piece makes it through its upcoming glaze firing next week.

      Thank you! I have a video showing part of the rest of the process for my work here czcams.com/video/K_gxK3eLlKA/video.html most of the glazing process happens inside the kiln as the crystals form during the firing, so it's difficult to show the whole process :)

    I'm guessing that is a skutt wheel? Be nice to see a photo of it finished.

    Watch, learn, try to repeat. Not as simple as you make it look. Thank you for the videos!! Pottery teacher told me to check out your work.

      Thank you :) I didn't weigh this one, but would guess it was about 5lb.

      Matt Horne Pottery grogged porcelain then or smooth? It’s liberating not weighing your Clay some times dont you think? That’s where the art begins!! you said you chose that wheel because of its power, by that you mean the max poundage you can throw on it or the speed. Like I said on the other vid commend I’ve got a Shimano t but the tray is too small and because of the type of drive it uses I can’t use traditional trim tools on it, the type you use to cut in with, because they cause chattering. Do you know what type of drive it is? I hope you do really well at ceramic art London this year, you should be proud of your self mate what a great venue to really get your work out there even more so!!

    Hey, why do you make top end so thin ?

    • @Matthornepottery
      @Matthornepottery  Před 4 lety +2

      Because my work is generally just intended to be decorative, and these kind of shapes work well with crystalline glaze :)
