TY so much my dude, especially the warning about the corner screws.
Got given one today, buddy says it just wouldn't power out (he bought a new/upgraded laptop anyways).
Pretty sure his old charger was dead. This Alienware was in storage for a bit. Borrowed a charger to diagnose, and heard sizzling bacon when I plugged it in... Your vid helped me find the fault. Iz a bad mofset or SOIC near the charger jack input :( suuuch a tease. Was totally gonna refurbish and keep this one!

Hey would I have to suture anything back on? If not I might replace the fan myself.

Are the batteries of laptops supposed to be perfectly flat or are they aloud to be slightly convexed, and how long should the battery life on this type of computer with nothing running?
    Great video by the way.

Do you have to remove the motherboard to remove/replace the two fans?

Yes, there is no other way. You cant really blow it with compressed air as the dust has compacted to cotton wool like matter. BTW this fan is fairly easy to access. There are some laptops where you have to fully disassemble it - even remove the motherboard.

I need to replace one of my fans. I'd hope it wouldn't be so much work but replacing the battery was a chore as well.

After disassemble and reassemble my Alien 15 laptop, it shows “checking media presence” on my screen. Do you know what happened?

I bent a pin where the display plugs in because my dumb ass put the plug in the wrong way so I jammed a toothpick in there until it was straight

@ sellbroke, my nephew screwed up my laptop key (W) and now i have to press hard for it to work. i wanted to find a way to fix and disassemble the laptop and keys but you didn't cover the keyboard part. I'm not a computer guy and i kinda don't wanna risk disassembling my laptop. Do you know how to fix the key issue? Or does anyone here know how to fix it? I'd really appreciate it.

You have to complete all the steps, please be careful with those 3 connectors underneath the motherboard just before getting access to the keyboard.

It's worth it. Still plays most games at 1080p with a good framerate on high settings and it is excellent for video editing etc still. I have upgraded mine to 32gb of ram and another ssd 1tb.

LoL CPU and GPU are soldered to a mainboard, what a pity... This COULD be a goog computer if you could replace cpu/gpu (broken one, or just add a never one).
