How have you not try McDonald's?!
In-N-Out is really a great example of what can happen when you treat both customers and employees with respect and don't just chase the dollar.
In-N-Out and Chick-fil-A both understood that, which is why they are some of the most popular and profitable fast food places in America.
Alpha Pansy they are doing good in Taiwan and now in China it’s the experience ppl want and it’s selling Costco is braking the barriers are nations leaders creat

emjackson81989 eh you can do it or not it doesn’t matter with in and out not being everywhere people will flock to mc Donald’s which is everywhere and always offering jobs and well bassicly owns the market
I mean they charge for water so idk about that
I had no idea that In-N-Out actually paid their employees decent wages w/ benefits. I always associate fast food with worker exploitation because usually only one employee (The restaurant GM) makes a living wage per location. That's really cool that In-N-Out takes care of their own. Every company should be this way.
This is why I refuse to give crapholes like Wendy's and McDonald's my money.
This isn't fast food as you know it.

I’ve worked for the company for 2 years and all I can say is it’s amazing. They pay me amazingly and they treat us somewhat decently, surely better than other restaurants. Overall it’s insanely fresh and just a great place overall
I worked there for 3.5 years and i really would recommend anyone to work there. The food is probably the most fresh fast food you could get
@Tom - if you work your way up into management you can make a full time living off of it. Especially now they are raising pay because of covid and everything, but also you can work full time if you discuss it with the boss it’s just not as common.
@Tom also management isn’t just the people who are the general managers at the store you have usually 2-4 2nd/3rd managers at any given store. They don’t make as much as the one manager of the individual store but they make a living yes. Also in n out makes it easy for you to move up and if you’re motivated you can do it quickly
@Tom Ask for well done fries! Those are a lot better. But that said, still not my favorite fries.
As an east coast person, In n out is wildly overrated. Worst fries I’ve ever had, they taste like cardboard. Five Guys is way better

@@meair The original restaurant owned by the McDonald brothers was of high quality. Ray Croc basically stole their idea and not content with that, cheated them out of their share of the business and then took pleasure in bankrupting them.
In 1983 this pimply faced kid got a job there one summer between my sophomore and junior years in high school. I stayed there for four years. That place had a profound effect on me, the values that In-N-Out instilled in me remain to this day. My first year, I remember getting a turkey at thanksgiving AND Chrismas AND a 20 hour paid vacation. I remember once getting two raises in one month, both only a nickel, but still, I got TWO in the SAME month! I remember my senior year, the yearbook took a picture of those of us that had part time jobs. I remember being stunned that everyone else was still making the minimum wage, which at the time was 3.35/hour. I was making 5.50.
I once went through the drive-thru and after ordering I realized I forgot my wallet. I felt embarrassed as I told a girl at the first window. I was getting ready to leave and they stop me at the second window and gave it to me for free

I don't eat much fast food but I have always heard In-N-Out treats its people very well, so I respect the brand.
Yeah the managers make about 120k a year lol
It just goes to show that these companies can pay their employees well and still be massively successful. Yet hardly anyone does it because exploitation is more profitable.
@@redtrolly shareholders would've demanded a higher profit margin and dividends. Cutting out the dead weight of shareholders results in a company that isn't just chasing the largest possible bottom line and fastest possible expansion.
The thing I love about the In-N-Out model is it breaks the modern "rulebook" for running a company. You have a very simple menu, limited locations, low prices, and pay your staff well which is the opposite of the big guys. That said though when you go you know what to expect and you are not swamped with the insane amount of options most places have. Only to find out they are out of this and the ice cream machine is busted, again 😉.
The other thing that always amazed me was despite how busy the average location is, and trust me there is rarely a "slow" time, they still manage to get you through in an impressively fast time considering that making a burger and fries takes a fixed amount of time.
Overall I think there is a lot to be learned from their business model and I wish more companies followed suit. I do believe since the company is privately held, it gives them the ability to make the choices they do, without bowing down to shareholders who will generally not share the same values as the owners do. Sure offering 401K/insurance/high pay is costly, but with all the training they give their staff it pays off with the high retention rate which is rare in the fast-food industry.
dang i work at in n out in texas and i mean were pretty slow in the mornings i worked today from like 10 to 3:30 and there was barely anyone in the first hour but yeah were pretty busy. me personally im a level 1 so i usually just host or i do potatoes and help around the stand but yeah its pretty fun

You’ll have the same experience. Same as Whataburger. Hyped up by locals because of the popularity and exclusiveness… but in the end, it’s all about the workers to decide how well they want to do their job that determines the quality of food.

It’s a total bummer. Any time I’m in CA, OR, or NV I always make it a point to eat as much In-N-Out as is feasible, haha! As a West Virginian, we have few local restaurant chains that are awesome (looking at you, Tudor’s Biscuit World), but I’ve always said that if we could just get a Popeye’s, a White Castle, and an In-N-Out, I’d be perfectly happy with our cheap food situation. I also LOVE that they take care of their workers, and it shows in their friendliness, accuracy, and willingness to do a good job. Happy workers=quality product, everyone should take a lesson from them and Costco.
Mustard-grilled Double-Double with copped chilis and grilled onion only, well-done fries, and a chocolate shake (sometimes a fountain pop if I’m especially thirsty), by the way.

We have an In-N-Out nearby and it is always busy, busy, busy. When you walk in the store it feels like you are in the 1950's. The staff (regardless of age) are extremely polite but not like robots. I think they are also careful about where they open up their stores because they seem to only have highly desirable employees that seem to have a great work ethic even though many of them are very young. That isn't so easy to find anymore so they have stores where they rely on young people with good ethics. The food is always phenomenal and you can eat off the floor. My mom once forgot to bring money even though she ordered from the drive through so she promised to go back and they gave her the food. She said they probably didn't expect her to go back since they didn't even keep track of the order even though she did.
Some lady did that to me and we did the same thing lol! My manager said yea it’s alright, in n out is a cool place to work
“Why not change and perfect their recipies?” YOU FOOL!!! The whole point it that it is already perfection. The reason I go on holiday to LA from London is to eat that burger.
Gotta love my city right 🤘🏻
LMFAO
Gumer Zambrano hell yeah 🤘
Damn dude. That is a long distance to go for a burger. But it's totally worth it. I live 20 minutes from one and pass it daily here in Texas.
@@jamesdorpinghaus3294 there's innout in Texas ? 😂 I thought y'all only ate Whata 🤣

@@metrolink8644 Is "in and out" an ironic name? I mean going there is the exact opposite.
CentralCal here
(still SoCal but still CentralCal ;) )
enerdhil it’s one of if not the first drive through burger shack ever. It’s just incredibly popular and good and cheap adding to a lot of customers.
In CT we have Five Guys and Shake Shack which taste identical. Once you get to the ‘Medium-speed’ burger places, they all are the same..
There is one in San Antonio, Texas surprisingly and ate there once and never knew it was rare to see one :)! Nearest one lol
This is one of the few videos on in n out, that is fully accurate, I’ve worked for the company for years and know a lot of the history, the dates and information in this video were spot on. Great video!
Probably because this is an ad.

Same I work at Store #282 in Mansfield TX for 3 years and even did both Burger Bowls and learned a lot too! I think the correct number of operational stores is 344 though
Are you a manager yet?
Nik Murphy
Nah and probably never will be. I’m not seeking a management position, I’m just trying to get to level 7 and maybe 8 if I have the time
@@codywright2840 But that money is insane! Why not?
In and Out is a local treat. Everyone here loves it. There is always a line. It is always clean. The food is always fresh and delicious. The employees are always sharp and helpful. The price is right. And I feel good knowing that the employees are well paid and have benefits. Our kids always loved going there when they were growing up. Now they live far away where there is no In and Out. When they come home to visit, they always want to go to In and Out at least once. Good times.
I tried in n out several times in Arizona and California, and honestly I was a bit disappointed. It was a great burger, good service, much better than McDonald’s or Burger King (obviously a low bar, however). But, it was incredibly over-hyped. Everyone told me it would be amazing, the best burger I’d ever have, and just so many times better than other fast food. I just found it... pretty good, but nowhere near somewhere like Five Guys. I try not to have an East Coast bus here, I just think the burgers and fries are so so superior at Five Guys, or at somewhere like Cook Out. I’d eat at In-n-Out again, but it was definitely not what I was expecting.
@@profightcompilations4764 That makes sense, it is a good burger and loved locally, but I am sure there are better burgers out there. IN & Out is better than Mc D or Whoppers, for about the same price. I think we like In & Out so much because it is our local chain. If you get a chance, try The Habit, another California burger chain. In addition to very good burgers, they have surprisingly good salads, especially the superfood salad with fresh grilled chicken breast on it.
@@profightcompilations4764 It depends on what you grow up with, I tried five guys and it tasted so plain to me. Habit blows it out of the water in my opinion.
@@profightcompilations4764 It's literally just a well made burger. Nothing more. Not even a cheaper gourmet
Even the price says so.
@@profightcompilations4764 you are not going to get a better burger, with fresher ingredients, for the price, anywhere. Also, if you aren't ordering your double double animal style you shouldn't even bother to show up. 5 Guys is incredibly over priced for a tasty grease pile.
Here in colorado springs, we've recently gotten an in n out, so thats pretty cool
I did my semester abroad in beautiful California. I miss In N Out, it was sooo great! I always had two Double Double and Fries 🥰

As a young adult I worked for In N Out. Met the whole family. They really did put out a quality product and in 93, were paying new hires 14/hr with excellent insurance. It was a sad day when Richie Snyder died in a plane crash. It never felt the same after that. As someone who has been to "In N Out" university and seen how they obtain food and process it, I can attest to the freshness and cleanliness.
@OAT351 What does her marriage life have to do with her running In-N-Out?
In-N-Out and Costco are businesses that remind me that not all big companies have to be greedy
Costco does something similar with their hot dogs. Imagine if they worked together. They would be unstoppable
It came to Philadelphia, PA - 52d/Market street. Gone in a year. I think Checkers has the McDonald's/Wendy's/Burger King option market sewed up here!
In N Out is seriously one of my favorite things to do everyone is so friendly and the food is great
have you had chick-fil-a
In N Out is basically the better Five Guys. I had In N Out once. I've gotten Five Guys and Whataburger dozens of times. In N Out still stay my favorite. Too bad I live in the Northeast. :(
Kali Blaze fries is nasty asf
llovelly x chick-fil-a is great when craving chicken and in n out is great when you want a burger
and the free hat if you ask tho..nice
I feel like the main reason that people, including myself, love going to in and out is that they don't hide ANYTHING. If you're in the restaurant you can see the employees making the food and if you're in the drive though, guess what, you can still see them making the food because of all the windows they have
Except their secret menu isn’t on the menu.
@@JimmyDean59 how would it be a secret menu if it was on display 🤔?
I enjoy watching them make french fries while waiting for my order (before the pandemic). You can see a whole potato get sliced into the fryer. It can’t get more clear and simple than that.

White Duck you know it
White Duck worked the calories off right after too
“Quick trip to In-N-Out”
In-N-Out is not quick...
did your luggage make it?
Putting it simply
They want quality restaurants not quantity.
So Cookout.
Thanks
Quality is why the lines are always long, even during a health crisis.
