Nielk799 don't look at GDP only, look at private wealth, Cebu has a private wealth of $6 Billion, Manila has $14 Billion while Cape Town has $120 Billion. Without including Johannesburg & other cities Cape Town eats up the whole Philippines. Also Philippines GDP per capita is much smaller than that of South Africa, Philippines population is 123mil, SA is 60mil, your GDP should be at least $1trillion. In short Philippines can't compete with South Africa on any aspect.
