michaela Hass I agree Gabriel is a class act. However if you take into account the amount of CZcams travel channels of men in their late 40’s, 50’s and older Gabriel has done extremely well and has earned his great reputation. The most popular travel channels tend to be much younger and it’s all about the flash for attention not really great honest content IMO.

AJ Dude yeah it’s a bunch of different stories from the time he hitchhiked across Europe at 18. Also, traveling through Hawaii/other states in the US as well as India. It’s a good book.
Especially excited to read about Hawaii. Our favorite island is Kauai. Bucket list to climb the Himalayan mountains
I really miss traveling but I think for me and my situation it’s best that I use this time to continue saving money and put traveling on hold for the foreseeable future. If I were in Gabes position I’d be doing basically the same stuff he’s doing.
There will always be people trying to give you a lesson or telling you doing wrong bla bla bla. Just ignore them and their BS and do your own thing, its up to you what you do with your life, its also up to you if you want to be the victim. Keep the videos coming. Stay safe!

"It's up to you if you want to be the victim"... but the way a virus works is if he gets it he is likely to give it to other people if he is out and about travelling. It is completely selfish. Just stay inside, it's not that hard.

Personally I’m not going to chance traveling outside of the UK for fear of sudden lockdown, I honestly don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t get home for a month or more. So I’ll do my traveling through your eyes for the time being 👍

I love traveling but I decided not until the pandemic under control because:
- limited countries I can visit (I am from the Philippines).
- negative PCR/swab test result is required for me to leave the Philippines. The test costs $100 or more.
- also, a flight ticket going back home is required.
- I travel on a budget. Can't afford to get stuck outside my home country.
- high possibility that not everything is open in my desired destination.

Even in the Philippines they are coming down hard on their own country's poor. Also, the other day they announced that people coming and going out of Cebu will soon have to do their transactions cashless(Phils a big cash country) notifying where you are going and for how long. Then you have to wear a bracelet on your arm so they can track you if they want. That is a complete massive change for your country.

1:46 In times like these, when the number of infected people increases again, travel restrictions in Europe can change weekly. Each European country (... and there are many countries) makes different decisions.
As an an example. We have a lot of guest workers from the Western Balkans in Austria who visit their homeland every summer.
Up to a week ago, a COVID19 test was enough for the return trip to Austria.
As of this week, an additional quarantine of 14 days is mandatory!
Questionable mainstream news statistics repeated wherever one goes. Looks like time to tour another planet.

I would not travel at all. Not because of the danger, it's the travel restrictions that could be implemented in the drop of a hat.
A more positive way to look at it is....it will test your ability to learn about yourself adverse conditions...
@Chad Hoskins I live in Michigan and can't even travel 20 miles into Canada. Now is not the time to travel anywhere.
Your story telling comes to the main conclusion that many countries relies mainly on tourism as its their main source of income and so it's better to keep a balance with taking safety precautions because staying in home is not the solutions.

Great information... enjoyed each word. Our entire family listened and learned. U r right balance IS needed. U r right we can't just hide and stay home... from our perspective...we stayed home and "mental health" is something to consider as well...because we are going crazy staying home. In fact my daughter and I both found online counseling... which cost us as much as a vacation would have ...

Good advice but things can change quickly. UK government advised travellers it was safe to visit Spain, today due to spike all those Brits in Spain will need to isolate for two weeks on return!

I enjoyed staying in Žuljana a couple of years ago. A quiet village with good opportunities for swimming and hiking. The town of Ston farther on the peninsula offers a very large fortress. Perhaps a candidate to review? Thanks for the videos from Croatia!

@@michaelahass2695 yea there is plenty of things to do here like collect rocks, hug cactus, watch tumbleweed roll across the street, visit that huge hole in the ground called grand canyon but doing all these things are only advisable in the winter as the temperature in the summer is usually 115

Hi being following your video and it is now Jan 2021 and the Pandemic since then has gone through 3 round of lockdown and every time it is bad we were clueless and it is very demoralizing but when I look at your video I told myself that hey we are not clueless it is not hopeless there are people like you who provide relief and positivity and you are putting yourself at risk unselfishly. Yeah it's happened lots of times, it happened in Vela Luka. A few times a month generally.
Gabe do the best you can do, I still enjoy your videos no matter what.
Latvia just opened its borders to travelers from the UK with no 14 day self isolation. When you were in London you could not travel there but could now. I have a Latvian passport and plan to Riga from the USA after August 15, when Turkish Airlines resumes flights there. As a citizen they will let me in and the worst case scenario is I will have a 14 day self isolation if they get more restrictive.
Completely agree we have to allow civilization to return and get back to work, business and leisure, including travel and tourism.

Croatia is a good country to be stuck in,I suggest south of Croatia-called Dalmacija.
Turist season is until October,and prices are ok.
We had a lockdown for a month because country depends on tourism as you said ,so I don't think it s gonna be any more closing.
I see you are going to the islands ,I suggest island VIS and Brač,beautiful places.
I have to admit im envious of your situation, and happy to live vicariously through your videos. Its a real sh$tshow here in the US, so your situation is definitely much better over there. (Maybe at least wait til after the election for all the politicized crap to stop.)
