I was gonna comment that it must be tough running a travelling channel right now... but then I realised no one can basically travel right now, so instead everyone will watch all your old videos for some virtual travelling. 🤯

@ioan dumitru That is a difficult question. Then you probably have to resort to insect diet. Also, I think it’s important to know when the sun is shining from the south.

    nice little vid, thanks Gabriel.
Camping out, away from crowds, doing day hikes from the base camp , having a campfire, is quite an experience. Stars away from city lights can be awesome. Once one has the basics - tent, sleep bag, mat etc.
I always have a nice amount of black chocolate. the mixt breakfast pack is a good idea. I always make coffee (freeze dried + hot water). Main weights are: food , tent, sleep bag, spare clothes. some hikers only bring 1 light polar top, and a down jkt or synthetic jkt for evenings + evening only socks . 2 hike socks (1 worn), the other washed and hung up to dry. 2 undies (1 worn). Small camp towel. Long thermal underwear. tents should be under 2kg, if solo, preferably under 1.5kg. There are light cheap ones and tougher light expensive ones. A budget sleep bag would be synthetic (eg nemo kyan goes down to -7 degrees centigrade) and is 990g.
For those starting, budget gear can get you places - I hiked the French pyrenees with it. Make sure your sleep bag is good for cold weather if you are in the mountains, even in summer.... trek poles are helpful.

Cool stuff. I learned a thing or two from this video. Since I'm not an avid camper, this is the first time I've come across a bear barrel. It's a nice little bucket for storing food, that's for sure. I liked the instant food as well, it makes it easy to eat in the wilderness.

Hi Gabriel, Couldn't you have beverages of some sort in a pool of water like a brook or stream keeping it cool because of the high elevation?

I noticed that Philippine cap.😀 Looks cool. You got souvenir during your short stay here. Just wondering if there are bears and wolves living there. Looks creepy at night.

Excellent video Gabriel, any particular reason why the tent was so far from the fire and the "kitchen", thanks

That was the flattest spot. Also it's good to have your tent a little ways from the fire so that it doesn't get hit by ashes and sparks.

Im going to try to do this this year. I've never actually backpacked before and it's something that's been on my list. I also want to detox from the internet and technology

Awesome Jordan, go for it. Since you're going to France, you could check out the Pyrenees. Some really nice areas to explore there, although it isn't quite the same sort of raw wilderness.
