No one is talking about the ICON model. It's been consistently predicting Houston for the past week.

@@mindyourbusiness302 That's my point. Things are changing to reflect what the ICON model has been saying this whole time.

@@timr0byicon model is extremely reliable for short term runs as well. Wouldn’t be surprised with this storming shifting again at 0z run

The comparison of Beryl with Harvey is encouraging. The fact that it won't be jammed in by three High pressures is reassuring for those of us in Harris County. But I still think we may get a direct hit, or at the very least be on the extreme dirty side of the storm.

All the reservoirs around Houston fill, Addicks, Barker, Conroe. Homes flood. And Livingston may fail.

Same thing happened in 2005 for Hurricane Rita. She was supposed to hit Corpus, then Houston but ended up going straight north to the Tex/La border.

Houston may not get the direct hit for winds, but it's going to be on the dirty side for the rain

I'll gladly take that over high winds.

I'll take the rain..just not the winds that cause power issues here in the Coastal Bend

I'm concerned it WILL go thru south Texas. Once it's past corpus and goes north east I'm good

Space City Weather has consistently been downplaying the whole thing. Even now they are still only saying "Chances for impacts increasing" rather than saying "Most models now put Houston on the dirty side of the storm".

Not even close. Harvey was a major cat. 4 on landfall and stalled over several days (did you even watch the video?). This is a fast mover and isn't expected to be greater than a Cat 2 on landfall.
