All these guys saying the GoPro Max is garbage compared to the Insta 360 OneX2......thanks for setting the record straight.
Hi Abe (if you ever read this!) I use Resolve as well - therefore I have to export the Max footage as an 2:1 MOV file from the GoPro Player and I use 5.6k Cineform/High for my 360 export. The problem is that the footage loses quality (sharpness, brightness & colour) compared to what I see with the native footage within the Player. Are there any plans to address this loss of quality on export? I can only imagine we'll have the same problem when (if) the next Max comes out and this issue has not been addressed in the Player.

Although one of those hits might have been a little over my pay grade this is how i like to ride. Fast and free with no crowds and maybe catch some air along the way.
Wow... incredible run and amazing capture of it. Is the video upscaled to be 4K? I've followed your videos on editing the Max footage and always set the sequence to 1920x1080.
I like to edit max in 4K and use the 4K output on fx reframe. You may get a bit more detail since I’m pulling the image out so wide, plus the benefit of CZcams compression at 4K is much better

it was! i use davinci resolve. I shoot flat so color correction is necessary for me!

Trust me my legs were burning! Huffing and puffing at the bottom each time. This was attempt #4 and I think I did it a total of 12 times in a row haha
Hey Abe, how do you personally keep your GoPro’s rolling in the cold? I used a Hero8 that I kept in my jacket to film myself getting towed on skis across a frozen lake behind a snowmobile last weekend… and all the shots lasted about 2 seconds before locking up. Swapped fully charged batteries too. I use to tape hand warmers to the backs of older GoPro’s but I thought the 8 would at least handle a few minutes 😔
I always keep fully charged batteries in my chest pocket close to my body until I’m ready to use them. If it’s really really cold I’ll keep the camera in a pocket but it’s really just the battery temp that’s the important thing.
@@abekislevitz Ya, kept mine in my jacket... but it doesn't last long at -10C in the wind, and then just recorded audio each time. Unfortunate because the guy towing me has 1.5M subs and all those shots are gone. We didn't realize until after he had to scoot... so I resorted to filming with my mirrorless camera later behind another sled.

Hi, please reply how did you render this footage in 4k ? Did you use Adobe program or through Gopro player? As I know when using Premier pro or AE you have to set the footage at Full HD, is it possible to render in Premier pro or AE as 4K?
You can render it out in 4K in premiere. That is what I did using FX Reframe plug-in
Any info on how you graded it? Are you doing HSL type stuff or is it just simple contrast movements?
Curve to fix the flat, Luma change for the dark and whites, some shadow boost, power window and midtone raise in the middle bottom, slight vignette near the top, a slight LUT add, noise reduction, and sharpening.

Haha yes trying something new. I call it the in between chest and mouth angle but head stabilized.

I just got a bite mount for my Max to go this route, but that over-the-face helmet mount looks like you could rock it longer. Anything special or just a bar?

This makes me wonder why a normal GoPro would ever be a better choice over the Max
For POV it’s not. MAX wins in wide view, lowlight, and stabilization. Lacks in detail and resolution.
