Summer Reel with Max Lens Mod in 4K

- Everything in this video was shot on the new GoPro HERO9 with Max Lens Mod attached. Max Lens Mod is a wide angle lens attachment that enables wider field of view, better stabilization, and horizon lock - which makes it so you can mount or rotate the camera any direction and the shot will remain upright!
Max Lens Mod is my go-to for immersive POV type shots, as you'll see in this video! Everything here was shot without any gimbals, and without any post-stabilization. Most of the shots were filmed in 2.7K 4:3. I edited in Adobe Premiere Pro, and used the GoPro FX Reframe plugin to add lens correction and reframe the 4:3 clips to the timeline. I edited in a 4K timeline to ensure high quality! Color correction was done in Davinci Resolve.
I am aware Max Lens Mod is hard to get right now, GoPro is releasing more units about twice a week to the website.

Great video and editing as always Abe! Just one quick question - what techniques do you employ to eradicate the spots of water on the hydrophobic Max Lens Mod itself? I noticed very few spots on your surf footage there. Is there a simple way to address this? Chris Rogers suggested taking a lighter flame to the lens to remove the coating, but that seems a bit extreme. Have you any suggestions?

Started looking back at my gopro footage to see if we literally crossed paths on the down hill, swells or wake boarding. Are you stalking me or am I accidentally stalking you?

Random technical question about the lens mod that I can find an answer to anywhere. I’m looking to use my max or a gopro 9 w lens mod on some Kitesurf lines, so horizon leveling will be key. I want the shot fairly punched in since my kite lines only allow me to mount them 12+ ft away. What FOV view would be narrowest, the Gopro Max in hero mode w the narrow lens? Or the lens mod in 2.7k and cropped in post? Thanks!

I know I'm late to the comments here but with the lens mod, is there more of a problem with water droplets on the lens than the regular flat lens? Also rather than licking the lens do you recommend anything like Rain X? I don't want to degrade the image quality but I use a helmet mount and can't keep licking the lens.

I’m sure you are not at liberty to say... but is there any other lens mods coming from GoPro? I always wanted a little more zoom for photos and didn’t like the digital zoom results. Sticking in a “portrait” length lens seems like this would make that can even more versatile for vloggers and travelers
