  • In this radio broadcast likely not heard since it was first aired on July 15, 1944, a 28-year old FRANK SINATRA appears for the United States Navy to promote recruitment for their WAVES unit. Broadcast from the WNEW studio in New York City. Accompanied by Axel Stordahl and orchestra and chorus, Frank Sinatra sings:
    IT HAD TO BE YOU
    I'LL BE SEEING YOU
    ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE
    This rare audio recording is from the RIC ROSS FRANK SINATRA Collection. Mr. Ross is widely acknowledged as an expert on the career of Frank Sinatra and worked on special projects for Mr. Sinatra and Reprise Records over a 30-year period.

    This doesn't sound quite right. Heavy background compression. Should've kept the static noise floor, but just reduced the volume.
