    IMHO this is the best channel for IT training. So easy to follow and understand all of the teachers. Straight to the point and no fluff like other training platforms (cough cough CBT Nuggets take note)

    Good video, thank you, I needed this! Could not get into the switches I obtained, now I can start clean!-
    Actually also found out while playing with the baudrate settings that a Cisco 3560V2 console port operates on 9600 baud, for those who are wondering the same as me.

      Noted! We actually have some great beginner level Cisco courses on our website, like the CCT and CCNA, that will teach you all of the basics! Feel free to check them out: go.itpro.tv/courses-cisco

      @@ITProTv Sir I have done registration on your website. Those CCNA courses are paid one. How can someone pay if he is already unemployed? 😞😞😞

      @@rafi.khan18 check out Jeremy's IT Lab CZcams channel. He has a free CCNA course which can get you started. If you want to get free CCNA books, check out PDFDrive dot com. I know it's hard to afford anything while unemployed and I hope you find a job. I'd suggest entry level help desk jobs and work your way up. Then you can come back to ITproTV and pay for their lessons. Maybe your work can pay for training if you're lucky. Good luck and stay positive.

  • @reneseuret6271

    I believe "write erase", will delete any config on the switch and leave it as default.

  • @byrd203

    • @rickhowe5082
      @rickhowe5082 Před 3 lety

      You need to connect with tera term.
      You'll need a rollover cable, or serial to rj45/USB cable as well.
      This cannot be done with a normal ethernet cable and/or command prompt on your pc.

    What do you do if you forgot your secret/enable password. I did this, but removing the config does not reset the secret password hence I can't get past enable even if my config is now clean.

      Each switch may be a little different since they are different hardware resets. So i'd suggest looking it up, Cisco hardware is well documented! :)

    • @danielhansson1990
      @danielhansson1990 Před 2 lety +2

      If you have putty installed on your computer.
      Connect your console cable to the switch and computer then start putty.
      When the programe opens clik serial. Then you need to enter what serial port you are connected to and then press enter.
      To know what serial port to use if you use a USB console cable. Open device manager then look at what ports (COM and LPT) are active before and after you plug in your console cable to the computer. The one that pops up when you plug it in is the right one.
      For example
      I start putty and im connected to port com3
      I press serial then type com3 and then press enter. A command window will apear and the video tells you the rest.
      Good luck With your switch mate.
