    Video still helpful. Should point out to first time users, if load_helper returns unknown command, just skip that step and display flash contents(dir flash:). It works just fine.

    Power cycle the switch. Immediately press and hold the Mode button. Hold the button for approximately 12 seconds, the Status LED will go amber. On the console you should be in Boot Loader.
    Switch:
    Add the following variables.
    Switch: SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG=1
    Switch: SWITCH_DISABLE_PASSWORD_RECOVERY=0
    Then boot the switch.
    Switch: boot
    Once the switch has booted you can copy the saved config back into the running config.
    Switch# copy start runn
    Next set your password(s). Finally we want to remove the variables we set while in Boot Loader.
    Switch# no system ignore startupconfig switch all
    Switch# system disable password recovery switch all
    Save your new config.
    Switch# copy runn start

    weird that I just held the mode button twice and startup-config got delete without powering off and I was able to to log back in, I did a "wr" command just in case. I'm did not follow the power off step, that's probably whey my startup-config got delete.

    with this tutorial, will make remove all configuration or just my password?

    • @Configurationdepot
      @Configurationdepot Před 9 lety +2

      When you change the config.text file to another name such as config.old, it essentially removes your production configuration. Once you are at initial configuration, type no. If you want to get your production configuration back, go ahead and type "copy flash:config.old running-config". At this time I would update your passwords accordingly, then commit the changes using "Write memory" or "Copy running-config startup-config"
