  • If "tithing" is not a Tenth, what is it, where does it come from, how do we tithe in First Century Christianity?

You are speaking my mind. It is really simple to live for Jesus, but so many have complicated the priesthood. Thank you for your time. Nice fireplace!

    Thanks once again.
My husband and I do this. Though he still attends church (I don't with his permission - he's my pastor) we give money to people and charities in need from our own finances as lead by the Lord especially since Lockdown of 2020.
There have been so many people that God has lead us to help. We don't ask for money from anyone and have Matthew 6:1-4 as our guide to do it right. Thanks for these videos.
The pervasiveness of this is inquantifiable especially in Africa...my parents were from Nigeria...Oh my...it's so bad there and people just won't be "Bereans" and read their Bibles. The wolves in sheep's clothing are on another level over there! Tithing is an idol to them and the "profits" are ferocious!
I've sent out this video to some who I know have been battling with understanding how they have been deceived by them. Hopefully many will "Come out of her my people."

I look at Abraham and his gift to Melchizedek Priest of the Most High, and Jesus's own words that say “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Abraham gave it all to Melchizedek and refuse even a strap for a sandal for the King of Sodom.

The church should take care of it’s own

For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth. 3 John 1:8

I would love to hear your thoughts on the trinity doctrine as it was not preached in the first century church.

The early Christians met together on 1st Day, Lord's Day to partake of the Lord's Supper (break bread). (Mark 16:9; Mark 14:24; Acts 12:44; Acts 18:1-4; Acts 20:7; 2Corr. 5:17; Rev. 1:10). That was probably why Paul had asked them to have it ready so he could distribute it later, and so there wouldn't be time consuming gatherings at his coming, when he came to see them; that they had already laid up in store as a church for the other poor churches that he would distribute to, and he could, therefore, preach and teach when he came to see them. Thank you Jesus for the weekend, and every day of rest in You. Acts 2:38 saves; Acts 16:30-33; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 9:17-18; Matt. 4:17; John 3:3-7; John 3:22; Mark 16:15-16; Gal. 3:26-27-29; Romans 6:1-4; Acts 4:12; John 8:58; John 5:43; John 17:25-26; etc. AKJVNT.

The only thing I’d disagree with you on is where it was stored up. This idea that the church building was the storehouse has no support in early Christianity and is a bias from Roman Catholicism and a reverse engineered pseudo Leviticus priesthood.
Appreciate the comment tho. Hope you find benefit in the content.

tithing was under the law of Moses , JESUS died on a cross so we would not have to live under the law Moses , please do not reject what JESUS did for you and try to go back and live under the curse of the law .

Thank you for the comment. I’m unsure if your comment is directed at the video, or just an encouragement to others in general.
If it was directed to me, I’d suggest rewatching the video as I’d say in general we’re saying the same thing, with a slight difference. Mainly that tenthing is a Mosaic law precept specifically for a Levitical priesthood. Tithing is not tenthing (Mosaic law precept) but instead is an investment (New Covenant precept).
If I’ve failed to communicate this with clarity in the video, I’d welcome constructive critique on where I need to edit the video.

Give what you can. There's no tithe law in the New Testament, but as Abraham gave a tithe to Melkezedek, we certainly could too, and be glad to do so, but if we only have two little mites, or just a little that we can spare; the point is that we give cheerfully to help others, especially widows and orphans. "God loves a cheerful giver." If we put God first always; we know what to do. Mark 12:29-31; Acts 20:32-38; 1Corr. 9:7-10. Acts 2:38 saves. Acts 16:30-33 AKJVNT.
