30-3 would be a blowout in football. 30-3 would be a blowout in basketball. 30-3 in baseball? A beatdown you couldn't even dream of until it actually happened in MLB in 2007...

Another wild fact that was not mentioned in this video is that this date (August 22, 2007) featured not only this “mollywhopping” of the Orioles-it was game 1 of a doubleheader!! This game was rescheduled to make up an Aug 20 rainout. They played AGAIN that evening and the Rangers won game two by a score of 9-7.
And in that game, the Rangers scored 3 in the top of the second inning. So, technically, Texas out scores the Orioles 33-0 over 6 innings. The Orioles scored 3 in the bottom of the third.
Bad day to be an Orioles fan.

Surprised the fact that the Rangers had one less hit than runs wasn't mentioned
That was also Paul Shuey's second to last appearance in the majors and it was the first season he was in the majors since 2003 due to many injury issues
It was not Daniel Cabrera's worst start of the season as he gave up 8 runs (7 earned) two starts prior and had gave up 7 in a game in June that year and in September he would have a start where he gave up 10 runs (8 earned)
That single performance brought Brian Burres' season ERA from 4.45 up to 5.24
The only thing interesting about Rob Bell is that he's now the sales account representative for one of the Rays' minor league teams according to Wikipedia because otherwise his career was pretty awful and 2007 was his last year in the majors at age 30

Earlier in the day, the Orioles named Dave Trembley manager, removing the “interim” tag. That could have been mentioned, too. It was also part a doubleheader. So much backstory was lacking in this video.
And who says “9 game loss streak?”

There largest blowout in baseball I'm aware of was a 50-1 college baseball game but for the parity of MLB I think this trumps that as more impressive blowout

Fun fact: the three O's relievers produced - in terms of earned runs over innings pitched - three of the ten worst relief pitching lines in O's history to that point, in this one game.
This has attracted the attention of the mayor of Dorktown, but in a written piece on SB Nation. (Can't link to it, as links in CZcams comments are problematic.)

I was at that game when it all happened. It was one of the most shocking things ever to be witnessed on a baseball diamond.
At first, when the 6th inning happened, we explored the ballpark a little to see if the O’s would come to their senses and stage a comeback.
But by the time of the 8th inning when we came back to our seats, they already scored 20 runs. We watched the 30th run be scored, and to put it lightly we were embarrassed by the whole thing.
To make matters worse, this was one game of a double header. By the time of this game ending, we were badly out scored by a combined 49-10.
It was the rarest of humiliations, and I wish never to see that happen to them again.

The flabbergast you must have been hit with to see 20 runs upon returning.
This is one of those things you channel surf through, pause for a complete second upon registering the score and then flip back.

@@Thumper17 we were all dumbfounded, confused, stunned, you name it.
I went home after the 5th inning of the second game that night because the folks said it was past when I was supposed to be asleep by then.
If any other Oriole fans left that day that I know of, I wouldn’t have blamed them. There was enough humiliation in the ballpark then.

I watched this game, and after I listened to Tim give one of the funniest recaps of a game I've heard. His voice is high pitch and cracking he's so excited talking about the stats of the 7-8-9 hitters.
