- Hello everyone,
This is possibly the last video on the Triumph Daytona. It took a lot longer than I thought, but after this series of videos, it's finally back together. It just needs the fairings and it's ready for the road.
I hope you've enjoyed these videos and they where helpful.
See you next time! - Zábava
Found you videos by chance today and have watched them all today as I am picking up my 955i Daytona on Sunday. Can I say a fantastic series of videos? I formative, clearly presented and very informative. Thank you! My only concern was the state of the bike! I was desperate for the bike to get a massive deep clean! Well done!!!!
Hey there. Thank you for your comment and glad you found the videos useful 🙂 Hopefully there will be more in the future.
The bike was a bit grubby, and that’s after I’ve given it a very persistent wash 😂 It was quite neglected, poor thing.
I would definitely like to see a video on refitting the body panels if possible :-)
Will try and post some when I get there :) There are a few other projects that will follow now :)
Thanks for your comment! :)
Thank you for this wonderful journey.
I hope to see it finished, all covered up and see / hear it run.
Awesome job, by the way, in finishing this project 🤗
Ps: how about that old timer? 😜
Thanks for your comment mate. Hope you’ve enjoyed the videos :)
Some might say this was the old timer :)) How old does it have to be? :)
My spring has snapped too, did some reading as you got me worried about wearing the clutch read that there should be no wear to clutch components with no spring but it helps take the slack at the lever end on mine about 2mm......also read an owner sourced a new one and the new spring can be wound on after winding the old one off....so no need to remove the covers...I'm going to try it.
I didn’t say you’ll get wear to actual clutch components, but the lever/pin/bearing might always be engaged, so that’s where you might see excessive wear.
Regarding fitting the spring without removing the covers - yes, technically you could. But once you’ve spreading it like that it won’t be the same. It should still do the job, so it’s up to you 🤷♂️
I tried setting my torque wrench to 9nm and tightened my bolts… as I was tightening I was thinking man this feels really high. It finally clicked, and I was able to pull a sheered bolt right back out of the hole 🥲 I’m assuming I used this torque wrench wrong, but I think I’ll stick to my ungu bunga method of tightening stuff from now on.
Hey there. I use a torque wrench quite a bit, otherwise I know I’ll overtighten things 😂
On the good torque wrenches, never had that issue. On some of my cheaper ones I did notice that the first couple of clicks would overtorque bolts. So I used to put it on a bigger bolt and click it a few times to make sure it’s all good before I actually use it 🙂
Can you do the fairing video on the bike, I'd love to see the way it all goes back together
Thank you for your comment. Will try to make that happen, but the project is currently on hold :)
How I would like a professional like you to play my machine. It's hard to find such good people. Regards my friend.
Thank you for your comment! All the best! :)
I have a question for you about my 98 955i Daytona
Hey Luis. What’s the question?
