Im like you when it comes to the advances in battery and solar tech. I purchased a EGO self propelled push mower this spring and I never looked back. It got a trial by fire. First task, cut the front lawn that was at least 10". Cut like butter. Battery has plenty of power to cut and pull me around the lawn. Ill never go back to gas push mower. I have LED shop lights and work lights. Better light, longer run time, dont have to worry about dropping or banging them around as much. That is a great tool you have there. I may have to investigate that more. Thanks for the info.
Very cool. I love solar in my work trailer. Great for charging batteries between jobs. I don't have to worry about getting close enough to the house to run power to the trailer. Great for condos when you have to cut outside and no where close to park the trailer and no plugs. Plus it's fun to tinker with. Thanks for sharing!
The world has evolved a whole lot since the early days of solar powered calculators. Next is the solar powered riding mower with a built in beer refrigerator.
Buy an electric mower, a mini fridge, some batteries (for the fridge) an inverter, charge controller, and some panels and you could probably do that for roughly $5k without too much difficulty assuming you keep the panels on a fixed system and charge during the day. A peltier device refrigerator would probably have a more a smaller form factor if you don't care about efficiency.
Capability to do a quick weld job is the biggest bonus for me. I hate having to get set up because I put all the heavy duty cords and everything away last time. If I could just throw this on my 110 welder cart and roll it where I needed it, that would be awesome. My normal inverter is installed into my vehicle and cords that can carry this electrical load especially if too far away are a big limitation. And I don’t want a generator right now.
That thing is freaking awesome! And it could come in handy when the power goes out at my house and my 'on demand' hot water stops working. It's happened twice while I was in the shower. I can count to 10, and then no more hot water!
I saw this on you’re Insta. Very cool. I think in reality this would only be practical for emergency repairs; such as a quick weld etc. honestly the way power tools have become DC powered already, we are only going to need a means of recharging the cells in the field (if needed). This unit can do this well.
I like the pure sine wave for running other types of electronics. Modified would probably be ok for power tools. I wonder if it would run my job site table saw. It says its for variable speed corded tools.
I got a DeWalt power station. Same principal as the Ecoflow, but uses (four) DeWalt 20V batteries. 1800 (3600 watt surge) - handles the big tools with ease. Tablesaw ripping 2x4, corded skill saw, etc.
If I was guessing, I would say between the startup surge and the sine vs square (or modified sine) wave created, it will have trouble running certain tools at 100%. Still very impressive. Good video. Got me thinking about a new truck inverter.
I use to have a large pure sine wave 1800W power inverter in my old truck. It could just barely run the table saw. It would run my compressor with no problems.
love that funny vioce you do when the dog is meant to talk i couldnt stop laughing at that in the last video,,(Why the hell you yellin at me ,.) more please,.hahahaha..
Thank you. Did you ever test the welder any further since this video? 5:34 all about safety here. Jump to 9:16 where the Chipping Hammer get used near some tasty flip flopped feet. 9:49 the realization.
Oh shit, let's hope this thing isn't vaporware. Would hate to see The Handyman sellout and be a corporate shill. 😅 Looks super freaking cool though, the market needs something like this.
I would imagine it would be quite handy running a camper or some other mind bending item after all that as well. Let’s try that test next. How long will it power a camper under normal use without solar connection!
I like the idea of not having to use gas or propane. Having it charge by solar is nice. How long will it hold a charge just sitting around? Nice video.
Is there a similar cheaper model that would be enough to power the tools such a drill, orbital sander, etc non simultaneously? For hobby purpose only, no more than 2-3h of continuous work. It looks like this inverter in the video is more than it would be necessary?
Handyman, What 110V wire fed, mig welder would you recommend? Beginner level, just for repairs around the house and maybe light automotive repairs. Thank you for the entertainment, I've been hooked on your videos lately. 🤙🏼
When you need to make a 1,000 cuts its sooooo annoying waiting for it to start up to make the cut. It is defiantly not for the trim carpenter. Maybe for a diyer.
I hear ya! 😏 But seriously, I'm 50 and have spent my entire life either digging through a wood hoard hoping to find an exact length board for a project or hand sawing the darn thing. Yeah, that start up sound of a table/skill saw. Oy
What blade are you using in your Dewalt circular saw, to cut the metal? Are there any other adjustments needed to do this? Is it just a blade and that could be put in any circular saw?
inventors is that to hard to invent a simple, cheap battery bank to be conected to electricity all the time when we are using the battery bank to weld, meanwhile we weld, so we never be out of charge and the welding machine will be in operation all day!
What size (gallons) air compressor do you use for spraying texture? I used my 2 gallon for a a big bathroom and I couldn’t keep pressure, so annoying and it took forever.
I use the one that I showed in this video. I have done a ton of texture with it. It runs non stop. I have to let it fill back up several times on larger walls.
Good job wearing your welding mask, but shouldn't you also wear gloves? You could upgrade to safety sandals by adding socks... LOL I love that little generator. Have you taken it anywhere yet, or just used it around the house?
Im thinking of using solar and a large home invertercharger and 48v batteries in my container to run a tig welder. Id rather do that than run 150 feet of conduit and wire to the meter.

Thank you Handyman! BrandyF from West Texas.
You hearted yourself? lol... 🙄
Get electrocuted because someone pissed on the battery 3:06

Ahhh hell I’ve been watching CZcams going on damn near 2 years now and I can tell u that this was one of thee best reviews I have seen by far brother

Really cool product , great demonstration of use
Loved it was cool different content than normal, would love to see some more basic welding vids.
Thank you for the video! The welder part was epic to watch
Great idea and impressive with what it can handle
Very interesting. Battery technology just gets better.

That was amazing. Would not have believed you could weld with it.

I think I'm sold. I've had my eye on the dewalt battery generator but I like the charging by solar
Always finding great new toys

Funny how an eco-friendly power base can correct an eco-friendly, not so great, water heater, lol.

Yeah that thing is cool.
I like those see through welding gloves
Never would have thought it would power all that. Will be interested in follow-up video if you keep using it to see if it will maintain.
Dude, I love the safety shoes.

That thing is pretty sweet! I was eagerly anticipating a video on it after your Instagram post!
Great test
Impressive!
It would be nice to have when SHTF or if you are a handyman vanlife nomad.
Thanks Handyman, entertaining vid!
Power station by Dewalt handyman! It's a crazy beast! Great video 👍

Welding with the sun eh?! Nifty tool. I have solar panels and a wind generator, so that would be handy imo
Thank you

I need one generator like this love from pakistan

Maybe you don't like the Evolution saw but the Combo blade rocks.
The blade is really nice
Great video, I enjoy shop videos! You have been talking about cleaning up your shop. Are you going to do a French Cleat wall?
I remember the stove video and heard you reference it during live stream but didn’t catch why you made it private.

I dig it! One of my only regrets is not owning a generator 🤦♀️
There is still time.
You gotta be kidding me im a welder i want it so bad
Very handy power pack, for a very handy man.
(Psst... If I got you a cadaver, would you bring it back to life?⚡)
I would imagine it would be quite handy running a camper or some other mind bending item after all that as well. Let’s try that test next. How long will it power a camper under normal use without solar connection!
I hooked to my laptop and got 2 full days out of it. I'm on my laptop at least 8 hours per day.
We need a tear down video though.
"Great Title"
Hopefully it works.

It will hold a charge for 12 months.

I have had this one for over 10 years. amzn.to/3smUmdV works great. 110 volt. flux core or mig with gas.
@@TheHandyman1Thank you! This will definatley be added to my shopping list. 😁
What is annoying about the soft start on that miter saw? Seems like a nice feature cause it doesn't shock your ears on startup.

New handyman video!!! Excuse me work while i take my break!
What blade are you using in your Dewalt circular saw, to cut the metal? Are there any other adjustments needed to do this? Is it just a blade and that could be put in any circular saw?
It is a carbide metal cutting blade. No other adjustments. I use cutting oil with it so the saw is oily and I wouldn't want to use it on wood after.
The dog LOLOL

Hey good day bro! How much is that battery and how many solar panel should i use to make that workable

I love that little generator. Have you taken it anywhere yet, or just used it around the house?
I have been testing it at the house a lot seeing what It will power. And how long it will power it for.
Can't believe you didn't try a kettle 😂
How much did it cost is what I want to know
Hi what model is this delta in it the original Delta 2 with 3000 cycles and x boost? Thanks
Haha yeah definitely want to wear proper footwear!

NO

where to get that power station? that was 3 years now, is there any better one?
The market is flooded with then now. Ecoflow Still makes some of the best.

I cant see where it says what model it is?
will it run a 110 air conditioning unit
It runs my Campers 13,500BTU rooftop ac. It will run a window unit no problem.
Curious:
How long does it run that camper AC?
Running anything else also?
