I have just started watching your channel and really like this style for beginners. I also really like when you teach more while you are painting. Please keep doing this it's a BIG help, for me anyway.

Thanks for sharing that demo. The whole picture is harmonious. I especially love the first part. I feel less ease with large use of Payne's grey

Great tutorials and even greater finished paintings. The softness of these make the painting look so peaceful. I've got several hake brushes but none get the edge like the Ron Ranson. I think I'll spend the $$ and get the set. I consider myself a beginner at watercolors but getting a tad bit better each day. Thank you so much for the great tutorials.

Thank you, Im really glad you enjoy the tutorials, its what keeps me making them :).
I find I now only use the medium Ron Ranson hake, but they are decently priced to buy a few different sizes. Im also experimenting with taking soft hake brushes and "pre wearing them out."

@@AndrewBroussardWatercolors I watched those vids and if I remember it didn't work as hoped. I have several soft hakes which I use for some washes and stippling. I have another type of Hake coming from Amazon tomorrow. I was watching one of Lois Davidson's vids and she was trying a new goats hair Hake with the bamboo handle. Couldn't find the same model but found a similar one. Anxious to try it.

Very cool! Its unfortunately that its hard to get a stanard hake to age like a Ron Ranson hake.. I hope they never stop making them. Lois has quite a collection of different brushes and tools! The bamboo ones are fun... are the hairs very long on it?

Beautiful work, Andrew, lovely wet in wet watercolour. Try to alter your camera angle so that we can see all of the demonstration. I have had problems with this in the past in addition to which, I still can't adjust my camcorder to its full potential. Regards, Dave.
