I love your video productions and I can see now why. Personally though, the one thing that elevates your productions above the rest Maya is your gift for story telling. I watched almost every episode of your stunning series North through the continent, and those times I was unable to, I listened to like a podcast. What struck me was your narrative was so immersive and engaging, it was a complete exerience in its own right. That really takes a special talent. Wishing you both every success in the rebuild and your future adventures.

I'm new to your videos, but I've found them much better edited, less stilted and generally more enjoyable that most other such sites. I especially enjoy it when you "overlay" and blend yourself into a scene playing different parts of a musical arrangements, but, mostly, you have the eyes of and artist, so you see the beauty and you pick and choose the best bits out of the video you shoot. But, more importantly - for a fellow learning new or tried and true construction techniques for his own boat project dream - you reveal and explain the techniques the two of you have used successfully. Thank you . . .

Thanks for chatting about the video making process. I appreciate the 4k video quality and the CZcams channels which have a freshness and naturalness which many professional media organisations e.g. the BBC in the UK, simple can not match. CZcams people are real - rather than injected into a video molded view. I really enjoy videos where the creators take delight in crafting something of great beauty.
Another appealing aspect are creators who are willing to take risks and lead a more adventurous life - it encourages the more cautious to step out of our comfort zones. We should all do somethig scarey at least once a day?
    Thank you 🙂

Two tipps from a fellow boat CZcamsr and Final Cut Editor: 1. Turn off automatic rendering and just render when you need it. Thats really a game changer. 2. When, in some years, your M1 starts to get slow again, switch to proxys. It's so easy with final cut. I even use it now just to increase the flow.
(One more word to editing softwares. Apple is the go to choice if you want to work mobile. With DaVinci you need a bigger screen and with Adobe you need more power. With Final Cut you can edit on a laptop even with battery power.

Again a very interesting and well presented video about something that is difficult to explain and make coming to life on video. Well done Maya

Maya, you were being too hard on yourself. Your first videos already showed your artistic talent. Hooked me, watching ever since. Thanks for this one. Very Interesting.

This is professional filmmaking! I learned about establishing shots while visiting MGM, Hollywood, 45 years ago, and I know that B-roll beats A-roll by miles. And a computer-written script! (what was your courses at college?)
And, such an amazing insight into your current profession and some depths of your personality!
    Thanks a lot!!

I too appreciate the multiple Mayas. Maybe throw in some costume changes as well. I envy the use of digital media. Back in my day you had to budget for every foot of processed film and cutting a movie involved knives. You do not mention use of grey cards or colour checker cards which I would have thought were still useful.

THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!!! When we begin our official shopping soon we will be making videos to do pretty much the same thing and of course, supporting you both and this really helps. WE LOVE YOU BOTH!! and THANK YOU so much for all the information you provide us! My friend Eric was very physically and mentally ill. To support him I helped him to make his little videos, he passed away on Jan 18th 2022 suddenly. I miss him dearly! So making videos of our lives together is extra special because although I never wanted to air our lives like that I agreed to allow it so he could do it and now he is dead before we could begin and that is why Marina and I are going to do something very similar to you both and this video will help us to do that and once again we are very thankful! You both are amazing!
