    I ran 17X9 inch wheels on the back of my old 74 SS Nova . I used a wheel from JEGS that had 6 inch back spacing , I also installed longer studs and used a 7/16 inch wheel spacer . I also ran 17X8 inch front wheels .

    good video any problem from the other side do these axles sit off at all or did they fit just fine on both sides

      On my car if it did it is pretty minimal and not really noticeable. It may have been slightly to the passenger side but not enough to cause any issues.

    Looks like a 17 x 10 inch rim ..... if its stamped 17x X maybe they use the roman numeral X as 10 is what I am thinking ..... on my car I am running a 15 x 8 inch rim and have a 275 wide inch tire with 4.5 inch back space and they fit well and look nice and fat .....but its nice to know a 17 inch rim fits with the stock set up ..... thanks for the video information meridian208

    This must be a custom wheel. American Racing doesn't sell anything this size. If this is really a 10 inch wheel the fact it fits is amazing. Imo its probably a 9 or 9.5 inch. Switching to disc brakes in the rear will probably push the wheel out perfectly to fit with out spacers.

    what rear end are you using? I have a stock 12 bolt and would love to fit that size of rims on my 74 nova.

      @meridian208  Před 7 lety

      My car has the 8.2 ten bolt in it. I'm not sure what the overall width of it is or if the 12 bolt is different. I wouldn't think it would be much different width wise, if at all.

    What model # are your kyb shocks

    • @meridian208
      @meridian208  Před 4 lety

      That is a good question, I'm not sure and I don't think they say on them. I got them virtually brand new from a guy with another nova who wanted to switch back to air shocks. Maybe look them up by application?

      Hmm, maybe I'll have to go back and look at these again. I don't recall seeing anything stamped into the wheel. But there could be an X somewhere. Thanks

    Man this stuff is hard. I just need to figure out if a 9.5 rim with 6.6 bs will fit

    • @meridian208
      @meridian208  Před 5 lety

      I can't say for sure but I really think that might be too much backspace for it to work. I hear you, trying to figure out wheels/tires is a bit frustrating sometimes. Have you looked thru stevesnovasite.com and see if there is any info on there?

      @@meridian208 yea but nothing really solid. Like im reading some people are able to run a 10 inch wheel while others aren't. Or some how they can fit a 295...its all over the place

      @@meridian208 what did you use on the front i found some vision 142 wheel that are 18x8.5 with 10mm bs. I wonder if that can work for the front

      They were like 15x7 Weld somethings my brother had on an s10. I have no idea what the backspacing is or anything. They just worked so I could drive the car...

    • @meridian208
      @meridian208  Před 4 lety

      I believe there is a conversion kit that moves the shock inboard of the leaf spring. I want to say there are also some camaro parts that accomplish the same thing. Not sure on specific videos, you could try searching stevesnovasite.com and see if there are any posts about it there. Thanks
