That is not a "governor" screw. It is called the throttle screw. Two totally different components on the engine. The governor on the motor is located inside the housing. Simply backing off the screw is better, as it does not damage anything, or break any part of the motor.

If you want to make it even faster and cut that 0-30 time down I have a second mod to go with this one. I have a stock one of these that I bent the screw out of the way also, then I took the spring off the cable. If you look even in the video the spring ends up governing the engine a little. I took that spring off and the pick up is cut drastically (to the point it will do a wheelie if you try) I am 180 lbs and I clocked it at 37, bone stock aside from doing those 2 things.

Who cares when you can just go to harbor freight and pick up a predator 212 for 149.99$ and it literally bolts into the stock engine mounts. I believe the only modifying you have to do is cut/grind off the rear fender mount and if you wanna put the torque converter you literally only need to prop the engine up about an inch and Ibelieve the company that makes the torque conversion kits now includes a few parts to prop it up on. Like you said it could damage it but when a new/better engine only costs 150$ it’s pretty hard not treating this stock engine as a disposable. The CT100U is very small also. I think either would work. The difference to me is on the CC100X it feels more like you are riding down a little lower on the frame and the CT100U feels more like your riding on top of the frame. Kind of a different feel.

I've never owned an RT 100 but they look like they are similar in size. One has a 105cc engine and the other a 98cc. They both have disc brakes. Yeah it does make a huge difference. The actual governor is in the engine though but removing that without adding performance parts is just risking valve float.
